If any of yall had ever played in the marching band.... silly fun things like this are not meant to be played well. You are supposed to blast and be loud and sound terrible because you are just up there in the stands to have fun. Stop criticizing their music ability. I'm sure their show sounded better on the field, and they have a whole different sound in concert season, because that's where the serious stuff is.

Yea, the low F in trigger 1st sounds like crap if you don't put the right amount of air.

I use my f trigger and play low F, all the time, it just requires more air and a lot practice of making a clean sound. Its even harder on bass trombone because you are playing on a much larger instrument to begin with. Oh and remembering to tune it. Now that I own a bass trombone, I have two attachments and its even more important to tune them. It really surprises me how many people who use them never tune them or worse yet didn't know they could tune them (yes I have seen this happen...).

A) It sounding like "ass" is your opinion and you're entitled to it, but it doesn't make what we played wrong. The band loves it so we play it.

B) We didn't take the whole thing from ASU. The only thing we did was attempt to emulate the high part's style and sort of played it in the same form. We had been playing this already before hearing ASU.

C) Who cares about how the bass bone plays it. He can play how he feels comfortable playing. It's a freaking football game not carnegie hall.

Lack of stamina is never an excuse for poor intonation. When gigging it's not uncommon to be on stage for hours. You deal with it. Regardless of whether or not your were messing around you were performing for people. BTW, the Brooklyn solo was fine.

Wow, Round Rock High School Low Brass does "Low Rider" different than ya'll...but ours is pretty dumb...because we have to PASS IT OFF to a director before we can play it in the stands...it's too easy to play...:D
