  • Brooklyn sounded a bit off, but Low Rider sounded friggin sweet. :)

  • @MrMertakhai Yeah, I screwed up Brooklyn. This was at the end of the night, and my lips were shot haha

  • @WarFact Yeah man, I know what it's like, lol. Pretty tough solo to play even with fresh chops.

  • i wish there were more than 3 bones (including me) in my marching band who could play this. not that they are bad, just a lot of them are switch overs so they arent great

  • omg......that was horrible. i know that stand tunes are supposed to be fun and loud. but that just sucked, get the right notes at least.

  • If any of yall had ever played in the marching band.... silly fun things like this are not meant to be played well. You are supposed to blast and be loud and sound terrible because you are just up there in the stands to have fun. Stop criticizing their music ability. I'm sure their show sounded better on the field, and they have a whole different sound in concert season, because that's where the serious stuff is.

  • and lastly and probably most importantly, who advised that 3rd bone to play low F in trigger 1st? That's like, remedial trigger trombone knowledge 101.

For crying out loud my brother in middle school knows not to do that

  • Yea, the low F in trigger 1st sounds like crap if you don't put the right amount of air.

  • I use my f trigger and play low F, all the time, it just requires more air and a lot practice of making a clean sound. Its even harder on bass trombone because you are playing on a much larger instrument to begin with. Oh and remembering to tune it. Now that I own a bass trombone, I have two attachments and its even more important to tune them. It really surprises me how many people who use them never tune them or worse yet didn't know they could tune them (yes I have seen this happen...).

  • and if you claim to have taken this from the ASU bones or whatever, give it another watch for the 3rd part.

    B flat

    B flat ->F

    B flat, B flat, F, A flat, A flat, B flat, A flat, B flat

    Rinse and repeat

  • A) It sounding like "ass" is your opinion and you're entitled to it, but it doesn't make what we played wrong. The band loves it so we play it.

    B) We didn't take the whole thing from ASU. The only thing we did was attempt to emulate the high part's style and sort of played it in the same form. We had been playing this already before hearing ASU.

    C) Who cares about how the bass bone plays it. He can play how he feels comfortable playing. It's a freaking football game not carnegie hall.

  • nah, this is wrong. the 3rd part jumbles the song and makes it sound like ass

  • 2nd and 3rd parts on low rider are wrong

  • There's no right way to play it. This is the way our trombone section plays it as well as a lot of other schools.

  • Good try on Brooklyn.

  • our trombone section only has 3 ppl me and a boy an girl.

  • lol our trombone section only has 4.

  • we have 4 too!

  • interesting. star wars is cooler, but that low rider arrangement is lacking in soul. and tell your bass guys to play the pedal louder, i couldn't hear the pedal Bb at all.

    keep up the good work!

  • that was hot

  • who's the artist for the lowrider song?

  • The original artist? War

  • Man, I wish I could play that, nice combo of songs...

  • that was pretty cool, I play trumpet but over last couple of months I've heard some pretty amazing shit come out the bell of a trombone

  • hahahah

    you guys are awsome

  • Cool beans man.

  • trombones only sound good if they are REALLY clean. we dont even bother using em.

  • Dude, a trombone always sounds good. It's the Chuck Norris of band. lol

  • HELLA YEAH

  • warfact is my hero. I'm one of the best trombone players at the high school level in michigan. Loudest player on the band.

  • tuuuubbaaas

    haha

  • Lol awsome, I jsut started band in middle school :D (6th grade) I play da Trombone

  • I must learn how to play this on my trombone!

  • Muito bonito...

    Parabéns...

  • I wish my section was smart enough to learn fanfares like that.

  • haha you and me both

  • nothing against you and your section. i was out of line. but ya need alot of improvement.

  • We were just messing around, and it was the first time we had played that all together. I taught the entire section the medley an hour before the game.

  • You can suck me

  • hehe nice nice cool i liked haha too bad we don't have morer trombone players here haha i like it

  • how long have u guys been playing.i need some advice with the embochure thingy

  • cool. but the brooklyn baseline was played in the wrong key.

  • Wow Amazing Speechless!

  • wow that...wasn't very good. But I'm sure you were having fun doing it, which I guess is the main thing.

  • It was 4th quarter of the football game and we had been playing the whole time. That and our marching show. We were just messing around.

  • Lack of stamina is never an excuse for poor intonation. When gigging it's not uncommon to be on stage for hours. You deal with it. Regardless of whether or not your were messing around you were performing for people. BTW, the Brooklyn solo was fine.

  • Shit it was just a high school football game

  • where's the pedal B-flat in Lowrider? *sad face*

  • how do you make a professional trombone player's car go faster?

  • this is great im gonna record my trombone section playing lowrider and make a video response cause were pretty amazing....

  • tht was nice

  • Excellent job guys. I'm a trombone player, too and our band can play some good pieces. if we just got rid of some people...

  • Also, id like to hear the original song..the first 1 you guys play Brooklyn i type that in youtube search bar and as you could imagine it brings up 1000 things that are irrelevant to what im looking for, thanks again nice video!

  • youngblood brass band...type that in the search

  • Thats pretty cool, my high school attempted to play Lowrider we added trumpets, saxophones, tubas and of course had trombones of all sizes lawl you guys seem to play well together and it sounds like your school crowd likes you..our school crowd is fool of retarded people who only like music they can't understand the words in...Good job!

  • that was sweet im a 8th grade honor winds trombone player and i only have a blessing triger trombine but about to head in the birdville mighty hawks marching band and i cant wait and i already know all the trombone players for next year i remeber playing those songs in 7th grade good times good times =)

  • Looks Like you have an 88H. Awesome shit man!

  • Who me? No I have a Bach 42B. The only person in our band with an 88H doesn't use it for marching band.

  • Also I'm the guy to YOUR left of the guy who you thought had the 88H

  • anyone got a

    Bach?

  • I've got one

  • shweet.

  • thank god for the trombone

  • You could do away with the first two songs. My low brass section plays that too, but we can't do that. Maybe when i become section leader I'll teach them an improved version.

  • It was our last football game and we wanted to play a medley

  • Oh, okay.

  • WAAAAAAAAAAA

    xD

  • Lmao wow. I barely got 5 months experience. But I'm getting some where. hopefully I can pull out stuff like this by next year lol

  • God loves the brass.

  • Lmfao yet again pwn pl0x

  • good stuff.

  • newman smith, isnt that in texas?

  • yup sure is

  • somewhere around the dallas area??

was this something ya'll did as a section or the band director gave to you??

  • we just decided 5th period that day to do this because it was our last game.. the section did it without the director's knowing lol

  • wow, i wish our trombones were talented enough to do that..

  • first we were just going to do star wars, then we decided to add low rider, then i wanted to play brooklyn at the beginning so i worked with scott and he learned the low part and i played the solo part

  • Wow, Round Rock High School Low Brass does "Low Rider" different than ya'll...but ours is pretty dumb...because we have to PASS IT OFF to a director before we can play it in the stands...it's too easy to play...:D

  • what the hell corey?

    take my stuff.

  • you said it was on youtube, and it wasn't so I put it lol

  • uh yeah it is on youtube.

  • it wasn't at the time.. notice i posted that commment 3 weeks ago..

  • wow you guys suck, you call that playing

  • if you don't like it, don't post
