Narrators are completely lifeless! They speak with no conviction of the great words of Lincoln which they speak. And the tempi are rushed, no dramatic pauses nor build-ups which are so clearly indicated by the dramatic and powerful words of the narration. Where was the guts and the glory?
Thank you VERY much for sharing this!!! This is not an easy piece to do PROPERLY, but Bucknell University Symphonic Band, and its conductor and its soloists, certainly did well on this (some intonation problems on the octaves aside). Congratulations to all of you - and best wishes for many more successful performances!!!!!
University level bands really should be able to play in tune.
