  • wow

  • This movie was fantastic and had an extremely powerful message. But look at little Asa now! He has his own movie playing the part of Hugo in the movie "Hugo." That's so impressive! He's such a talented boy! (:

  • good ending. it really puts you in the shoes of the family members because when you just hear about people getting gassed you think "oh thats so sad " but when it happens to a family member its a whole different story.

  • HUGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

  • Gays

  • i dont get it how could those fucking nazis do that?!?how can they just take a child from his only mother(im talking generaly bout ww2)away `!!??!how can they watch how a 4 year old cute boy dies infront of their noses cos he doesnt have any food to eat?!how can they beat em up...FROM NOT DOING ANYTHINg AT ALL!!!!!??how....????????????????????????!!!!THEY SAY THE JEWS R NOT HUMAN BUT THEN WHAT R THEY????!!!!

  • @TheFannahannah Well, it was a mixture of many factors actually (keep in mind I am NOT a Nazi sympathizer, I am just trying to be factual about this) The Germans lost WW1, the Allies were very harsh in their punishment against the Germans & many Germans were disillusioned, hurt, etc. Hitler came to power as an incredibly radical man who took authority and the Germans fell in line with him immediately. His antisemitism preachings took hold as a way for Germans to feel better about themselves.

  • @TheFannahannah Also, the Jews were used as scapegoats for anything that went wrong, and it strengthened Germany as a country. People who joined the Nazi's were swept up because they were brainwashed from a young age (like Gretel in this story), & those who did not agree were silenced because they feared punishment. Most Nazi's in concentration camps pretended Jews were not "really people"(like Bruno's dad said) to lessen the burden of their guilt (cuz Nazi's were human too)

  • I cryed in the movie there needs to be a part 2

  • I just saw like the last part of the movie it was so sad :'(

  • This was one of the most heart-wrenching movies I've ever seen - and beautiful because of it.

Asa and Jack were both amazing - Asa especially pulled off that childlike innocence perfectly.

  • We watched this in school and half the class cried (which most of them were girls) but still good and sad

  • @meow23 they didn't die in the crematorium they died in a gas chamber :'( really sad movie I'm surprised I didn't cry

  • @ashlberry43 im also suprised

  • Probably the most heart-wrenching, saddest, shocking ending of any movie. The way the whole movie builds up the characters of the two boys, only to shatter that in the end made it even worse. Such a powerful movie. <3

  • This Movie wasnt even sad..! they didnt even show the dead bodies

  • @1lenyo3 wasn't sad?!?!?! ARE U SERIOUS?!?!

  • @1lenyo3 not sad....NOT SAD?!?!?!?

  • I'm never going to forget the ending of this movie. It was terrible to see those adorable boys trapped in that... thing... I cried for... I don't even know how long :'(

  • good film: so emotional and the actors play their parts so well (amazing acting). The last scene when he entered the camp area I felt that was going to happen, sad film but worth watching. Has really interesting perspectives

  • i hate the ending...i wish the two boys escaped or something couldnt stop crying at the end

  • @billieeeee12567 Yea, I agree with you. The ending scene was breath taking and I couldn't stop myself from crying. That's a movie you won't forget.

  • Ive just watched it and i dont think ive eve cried that much for ages!

My nana was a little girl at the time and she tells me stories about how her nana used to stand outside shouting at the planes 'you bloody Germans! clear off you horrible buggars' ahah, and how they used to have hot coco in the air raid shelter and how horrible it was

    I love my nana<3

  • I love the way this film divides Germans into a) those who knew nothing about the persecution of the Jews and b) those who knew but thought it was dreadful

  • @ryko26 So, what would we be according to you? Nothing but jew-hating, cold killers and Nazis?

  • @hardstyle905 jew-hating was unusual in 30s/40s Germany was it?

  • @ryko26 Yes. Faggot

  • @ryko26 no i think they always hated them for no reason...its sad

  • I just finished watching it and I didn't understand the last scene, other than that it was a good movie and it was really sad I was crying so much.

  • @bazingabonkers The last scene is clothing of the people from the gas chamber. :(

  • I can never ever work out why Germany as Hitler suddenly took over German politics how He and the SS were so anti Semetic. There were Jews as German officers in WW1. what did the Jews do to Germans during that time?

  • @walker55able Nothing. Germany was in such a poor state after world war 1 and being held accountable for everything related to WW1 (having to pay compensation and rebuild a fragile economy). Hitler saw his chance to blame Germany's state on a group of people and, after early initial struggles, eventually rose to power with the help of the "Big Lie" theory - the idea that if you tell a lie enough times with enough conviction, people will begin to believe it. Hitler and Goebbels were good at this!

  • @Arrested101 true...sadly...they always do that...blame the jews...

  • I watched this last night and cried my eyes out!! that end scene was so sad

  • @lovelylass77 I watched it too. Had my eyes watering:( Such a moving film.

  • very sad film, but these boys are just so adorable. i wish they were my sons i'd be so proud ^^

  • @shiemi10 but I agree it was a sad movie

  • @shiemi10 they only did that to Jews in ww2 in ww1 Germany still had Jewish officers

  • Lupin 1:06

  • Heeey traduzcanla al espanol!!

  • Catacastillo1 jajajajajaja no inventes!!!

  • Just finished watching the movie....... OMG it was Sooooo sad especially when Bruno and Small die together holding hands in the gas chamber. I cried it was heartbreaking.

  • @Ysanchez177 It's shmuel not small.

  • R.I.P small and bruno!!!!!! his film makes me cry everytime!!!!

  • @saidie02086656791 It's shmuel not small.

  • @Maruragakari I know. Imagine if his name is small though lol.

  • @EmilyBlack01 not cool at all

  • jack scanlon was great hopefully he comes out in more movies i felt sooo sad wen i saw that a soldier hit him nd left all red on his right eye :( i love that move♥♥

  • i feel soo bad when bruno dies :( i really like him a lot tho

  • Asa and jack worked very well in this movie!

  • Asa...Marry Me..Please..

  • this movie made me cry...the ONLY movie in the WORLD that made me cry

  • @keirab133 you should watch hachiko.

  • this movie made me cry so much

  • Great film so sad at da end nearly cried! Cant believe they actually did that to the jewish people in ww1+2?!:(:'(

  • If the actors are supposed to be German, why are they speaking with English accents?

  • @ngarcia1995 So English people understand it.

  • i would have liked to see this movie in movie theater... so very good movie!! oneof my preferred!

  • @loopsaitoo It WAS in movie theaters...?

  • @Plumbob98 lol i don´t know.. i just saying that i have would liked to go to the movies to see it.. i almost know about the movie since a year... and i think that movie opend in 2007 or 2008 .. :P

  • I think this movie/book would have been much better if the ending had been about the horrors of Nazism and not the horrors of skullfuckingly bad luck.

  • @Casundia I think it was a bit of both.

  • que gusto me da saber que estan vivos :D!

  • I cryer at the end of this movie! I was holding my BFFs hand the whole time! I was bawling! I felt sooooooooo bad for Bruno! I would never want to be bruno for this movie! :(

  • This movie is so moving that everyone I know who's seen it (including guys) has cried. it really presents to you the reality of the situation that the Jews had to go through. Concentration camps were horrible and they exterminated 6 million Jews.

I actually had a Holocaust survivor come to my school a while ago. It was a very good experience and we all got to shake his hand and look at the album that he brought. I can still remember those pictures clearly.

Anywho, the movie is a must-see!!!

  • Omgg it is such a sad movie...

  • Isn't it strange how the characters are supposed to be german but in the movie they all speak with british accents?

  • @DarthJacob12 it's because the film isnt really about being german as such, it's more about the message of the film :) if they put on german accents it would distract from the main meaning :)

  • Im Just Thinking In My Head "No. Bruno Cant Die No! >.<" This Movie Is So Sad D:

  • sooo sad i almost cried in it.

but got a question is Brunos dad Hitler?

    plzzz answer

  • @MrRickanator2 No, well not in the book anyway. I haven't seen the film but I'm sure it will be the same. His Dad just works for Hitler :)

  • @MrRickanator2 Obviously NO!! Hitler wouldnt be the 'Herr Commandant' of a concentration camp!

  • I don't think I'll ever recover from that last scene....

  • @emergencyme1

i dont nderstand.. wht happend in there?

  • @Mizzcutieboo Bruno and Schmuel were caught up in a group of old jewish inmates who were being marched to the gas chambers to be executed. They were all put into the chamber, then the air-tight doors were locked and an SS officer dropped the Zyclon B pellets into the chamber through an openning in the ceiling. The pellets react with the air inside the chamber, producing a poisonous gas that eventully suffocated the prisoners..

In short, it was humanity at its absolute evil :'(

  • Comment removed

  • @emergencyme1 Omg, so true, the last scene is awful but its a great movie!

  • @emergencyme1 i will never ever

  • Asa is soooo adorable

  • you two are way to cute!! xxxx

  • shmuel rly does a good job :)

  • that shmuel(samuel) is a pretty boy : )

  • Butterfield is gonna be damn sexy when he grows up...

    ... Am I a sick person?

  • UGGHHH THEY SHOULDA CHANGED THE ENDING. but i was strong enough to save me from crying

  • im from germany and i hate the fucking nazis!

  • @LAholgaa1 most deutschers do, including most of the wehrmacht and waffen ss

  • @LAholgaa1 me too u dont knw how much buddy....

  • @LAholgaa1 and also some of the nazis were foced to be one but i think 98% wanted to!

  • i was crying at the end of this!!! x

  • @YumYumBubblegumPop Nah, he's 14 and i'm nearly 14. That would be a bit weird :D

  • i am aware the ending was sad and that a ton of you wish it would have ended differently, but it had to end the way it did. it sends a powerful message that the nazis didn't care who they were killing. they were just killing innocent people in masses without a second thought. it took the death of someone they deemed as "innocent" to die in order for the father to realize how what he was doing was wrong.

  • Brunos accent is awesome

  • Ok everyone that's says I'm fuckin wrong read this if the fuckin Nazis couldn't get that Bruno wasn't a Jew I think they could descize Sunil to okay think about that!!!!!

  • Asa is sooooooooo fit! (And that's ok cause i'm the same age! :D)

  • @Fittzil do you know how long they were held in there!? 10 minutes or more!

  • Bruno should have just go home than die for someone! He could even got a girlfriend then than dieing early making his parents sad VERY sad

  • @ThatOneGuyHomeBoy Its Not Like He Wanted To Die :L

  • @ThatOneGuyHomeBoy Yes but how was he to know he was going to die? :(

  • Asa Butterfield is so cute!

  • The little boy who plays Bruno is so adorable!

  • Would've made far more sense if bruno rescued the guy but i guess 8 year olds think differently.

  • Those little boys are soo cute. And i was crying as much as the mother was (not exactly) that was so sad. Good movie though

  • why do I only care that Bruno died and not the Jews in the movie.

  • @XDMASTER12

    Reported, that is just wrong.

  • Such a disturbing ending... I just watched it and I'm still in shock.

  • half way through the film the sister says it's the jews fault german lost the great war that's bollocks britain was simply better!

this film is so sad probably one of the most saddest I've seen &the two boys are just so cute:)

  • This movie was so sad

  • I don't like the fact that over 6 million innocent Jewish people were horribly treatet like that. I mean Seriouslly, they had to starve them to the point of death, and kill them like that. It pisses me off that the Holocaust even occured. I will forever look at this horrid event as one of the worst events in history.

  • Such a sad movie ):

  • that is the saddest film ive ever seen :'(

  • Nawwh I love Asa!

And felt so sorry for Jack all through the film! :/

At the end I always think thank god they're just acting.

But then again this happened to MILLIONS of people..

I show my Grandma this movie and she didn't like watching it because her brother was in a concentration camp.

    Its so sad. :(

Btw, I can't wait for The Invention of Hugo Cabret to come out! :)

  • i hope his dad kills himself for that

  • the only movie i've ever cried in.

  • This makes me so furious! I always wonder, how could anybody think killing so many people is a good thing? I honestly wonder... and during this time, people -kids!- just like Bruno and Shmuel were killed. Hundreds and hundreds.... It makes regular things seem so insignificant, doesn't it?

  • It's a fantastic film . It' really moving and makes me cry everytime I watch it. Six million Jews died for well being Jews. They didn't do anything wrong yet they were punished. I'm glad Britain won the war, and saved some Jews. Unfortunetly, those six million were unable to be saved because of Nazi's gassing them. However we did our part and came through and conquered, if we lost the war we would be talking German. But because we won we arn't.

RIP Six Million Jews. It wasn't your fault.

  • @rokgirl86 Britain didn't win the war they got stuck on the left flank invading Germany because of the Panzer's and to much tanks America was the scond people to get into Germany and Canada was the first but they had trouble getting through the German's second line of defence so American's actually got deeper into Germany and I regret learning the German language after seeing this film.
