I love this car. I Bought the 2012 SE Jetta back in august. brand new. I absolutely love my jetta. I also just drove round trip from Columbia, SC to Tampa, FL recently and this car handles like a dream. Especially on the curvy florida roads. But any ways 90% of my regular driving is done on the interstate. Acceleration, passing is amazing and the cabin is also very quiet.

When I test drove this new iteration of the Jetta, I didn't even finish the test loop. I got about half way through when I just turned around and went back to the dealership. The suspension was unacceptable and performed so poorly that I would call it dangerous. If you had to make an emergency lane change in the Jetta, I would count on hitting whatever you are trying to avoid and hoping the airbags work and that a 4 out of 5 star frontal crash rating is enough to protect you.

@bnjw12 its not a quality issue. it holds the electric wiring onto the hinge. they only need it on one side, so why bother putting it on both?

With such MPG (low) numbers the diesel engine should put 147-174HP (110-130KW) but it doesn't. On the other hand, with such performance numbers (only 115HP) it should get at least 50MPG in hwy but it doesn't (according to the video). And it's the end of 2011!

Even the 2003 Toyota diesel 2.0 engine with 116HP (85KW) gets 58.8MPG (4l/100km) @ 56mph (90km/h).

I think you have the numbers mixed up. The the TDI diesel engine produces 140HP. The 115HP is the base gas engine.

@MaximumChank No, sir. I own myself a hi-mpg diesel vehicle with 115hp (85KW). In diesel engines HP may vary from 88 to 174+ (66-130+ KW). 2 liter diesel engine in 1995 Audi had as little as 88HP. A 2.0 2011 BMW 120d has 184HP.

On the other hand, your statements are not wrong: there are diesel engines that produce 143HP (105KW); and also there are petrol engines that has 115HP.

What on earth on you on about? The particular diesel engine that was reviewed in this video and gets around 40mpg is VW's 140hp 2.0 TDI engine. It is the only small diesel that VW sells in North America. VW does not sell a 115hp diesel engine here. The 115hp engine is the base 2.0 liter gasoline engine. You just need to actually listen to the video or maybe check the facts at vw.com instead of talking out of your ass.

Has anyone had to buy Diesel Fuel lately? Because the price is still close to $4 a gallon and regular unleaded is now closer to $3 a gallon saving money at the pump is not a reality when buying a Diesel car.
