The religious leaders of Israel back then wanted to kill Jesus & end His movement, and when He was crucified, they were successful for a time.

Jesus was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, a member of the Jewish council who killed Jesus.

Tell me, if Jesus didn't rise from the dead, why couldn't they just produce the dead body and say "See! Still dead!"

wowowabzee, you need to put things in perspective. The story of Jesus rising from the dead is a myth made up during an era where fantasy stories were the best entertainment. People enjoyed telling stories that were exciting because life had few other types of entertainment. It took 40 years before someone started writing about Jesus...a bit like noone wrote about humans landing on the moon until today.

Myth-making is what made Jesus who Christians think he is. Same goes for Mohammad in Islam.

I firmly believe a society without open debate about religion including different views is the very worst of society leading to radical and fundamentalist religion.

In a country like USA this is what happens in closed religious sects.

In the middle east you can find entire nations like Iran with that problem.

I completely agree-debate religion as much as you would like.

But if I were to refer to the oh-so-common "It's a relationship, not a religion." I won't pretend that what I believe in is the absolute truth or take on the fundamentalist view and be like "I'm right, you're wrong!" kind of thing. It's just that I've experienced some amazing things and I really do believe God directly works in my life and others as well.

Actually my opinion about religion comes from a lot of my own thinking. It also has evolved from travelling a lot visiting more than 40 countries with many different religions.

Our world is in true religious confusion.

I honestly could agree that some people are much too dogmatic about there being only one faith, but if I say I believe in God-the God of Abraham and Jacob, it wouldn't make much sense for me to mix up other so-called gods into what I believe because it would clash. I believe in one way through Christ and everyone is given that invitation...It's not as if Christ is exclusive, He's for anyone who bothers to stop, consider, and ask.

Why is the entire world black and white for you? You've probably had some bad experiences with the fundie's out there but all you seem to be looking for is an excuse to turn me around.

Honestly, I obviously don't have all the answers - What I do know is that God is good and that sin separates us from Him. His character is one of who needs to punish those who sin but by those who repent and believe, are forgiven. God has killed people for sinning-I know, but He's made a new way for today.

Actually the Bible is in deep violation with verifiable evidence in many ways - not only Genesis. Nothing was written anywhere about Jesus for 40 years...why is that? It's like nobody wrote about humans going to the moon from when it happened until today...SUDDENLY we found it amazing enough to write about.

Of course...reality is that in ancient times stories gradually got blown up. Myth making was the entertainment method of the time. E.g. the Quran is the same thing.

Nevertheless even critical historians agree that 1 Corinthians was written around 55 AD, just a 20 year gap from the Resurrection (33 AD) & the same goes for the gospel of Mark.

This doesn't allow myths to develop because the time gap is too short. There were eyewitneses who saw the Resurrection (1 Corinthian 15) & they could easily refute any objections to the Resurrection

But Jesus IS coming back. In His word, Jesus says that He is coming back. He did not give a specific time. so whether it is a week from now, years...that we do not know but we need to be ready for when He does come back. The only reason the Lord put us on this earth was to worship Him and serve and honor Him so i think its awesome to see these two singing and using their gifts to honor and glorify the Lord :)

I will agree, if this is your point, that we seem to favor designing our God around what we would perceive Him to be. Unfortunately, that is true is most cases as a generalization. Yes, religions are made following human desires. When someone close to you die the desire for meeting that someone in an afterlife becomes very strong, for example. Muslims have a heaven with many virgins and obviously that's a quite different type of desire (the Quran was not authored by women for sure).

The stage we humans are going through now with growing our expertise in AI and other sciences will result in a superior intelligence...question is only when.
