Looks like i'll be getting this on the PS3 instead of the xbox... i absolutely HATE the kinect and refuse to buy it! Thanks to Forza 4 i won't be able to get 100% on it due to a stupid kinect achievement! Meh!

If you are planning to play Mass Effect 3, I advice you to play Mass effect 1 and 2 to know its story and plus, if you create your character from the first game you can import that character to the Mass Effect 2 and upgrade your character and to prepare for the Mass Effect 3 and make your Character even more stronger.

You know whats better than voice commands? Buttons. If you wanted to have a non-paused experience then really PC is the way to go with 8 mappable keys. I only wished they released the first Mass Effect on PC day one, because now I'm stuck.

How many people think the kinect feature might interfere with recording gameplay? Because once I can start, I'm making fan movies using all three games and a custom Shepard that looks like me. While Kinect may make it easier, I don't think you'd want to hear someone yelling commands at their tv.

I'm pretty sure socom did this with a headset nearly 10 years ago. If they wanted to implement kinect into mass effect hand gestures would have been way better. The actual movement of my hand the scan an object would have been cool.

@twoforthewin Yeah, I know. I think the voice-recognition software is in the Kinect, though, not the Xbox, so a system update would be needed for the full functionality. Which Microsoft obviously won't give, because they want people to buy Kinect.

@TheDrAdrian Cause you don't understand that the Kinect's hardware is built in conjunction with the software for voice recognition so Bioware doesn't have to program it from the ground up... in other words, its technical.

I never had to pause the game to know what was happening. It's not really that hard to decide how to use your squadmates well, it just takes a bit of practice.

Being able to give commands to your teammates instead of using the thumbstick menu sounds really promising for the gameflow, i just hope kinect won't pick up too many "false positives" like forza 4 does.

I love how they gave the Kinect ME3 to people who have NEVER played the series, so they have no idea if it really is better with the Kinect or not. I would love to see someone actually play it with and without the Kinect and then make a judgement call. I feel, though, this is just Microsoft trying to market their version, dispite the fact that it's on the PS3, as well, and the PS3 version will probably have Move support....yeah...poorly done marketing campaign.

@loporina I can reply, I was there at this event. After 30 minutes of playing with Kinect with the voice commands, it is hard to go back.

The voice commands make the game more immersive. Could the same be accomplished without Kinect? Possibly, but it is not available yet.

To control the group with voice commands are awesome: "Cover me!", "Suppressive fire!", etc. But the rest feels a bit unnecessary. Why would I change weapon by saying "Sub machine gun!" instead of just pressing a button?

@spanjoar yeah the squad commands seem like a good idea, i just don't know why you would waste your time saying "Activate" when all you do is press A. Not to mention, they could have done this with mics. I think microsoft needs to step up its game with kinect, because its a great idea that they're executing poorly.
