This was my first snes game I bought not including SMW that came with the console. Got it from Dixons on the highstreet long before dedicated gaming retailers arose. Cost 50 pounds, which is probably about 65+ pounds with inflation since then. Played it several hours a day every day for weeks. Ah the simple contentment and single mindedness of a 12 year old playing a video game. I still play games alot now at 30 but that little touch of magic it gave is long gone.

@Steinus It stands for "National Television System Committee", the group that developed the analog TV signal/resolution now used throughout the Americas and Japan. It's actually a lower resolution than PAL.  I'm American, but I must admit that I love playing my Euro version of this game. :)

I grew up with the Rambo/Arnie style characters for NES, SNES, and Arcades instead of these 50's sci-fi movie robots. I read about that change somewhere but this is the first time I ever see it. I gotta say, this looks a bit less violent, ergo more "protective" for children; we ain't used to that in America, even the arcade Contra games were pretty gore for the 80s-early 90s (look up those vids). I know it all changed since Mortal Kombat, and still this version looks nerdy to me.

I used to play this with my friend on his Snes when it was brand new. I only had a nes, and the graphics and sound really blew me away. Probotector and Super Castlevania really scared us back then - in a good way. There were so many timeless classics being released for the snes. It's really one of the best consoles ever. Oh, Robots > Rambo-copies. ;)

Imo best Probotector was on Genesis, you could choose from 4 different characters, they all had different weapons, soundtrack and sou7ndeffects were better than on sNES and it actually followed a story, lol. But sNES version is cool in any way, I remember not sleeping at night when I couldn't beat it
