@simplyplain100 P: The thing is, Umbreon, unlike other Dark pokemon, has a high defense and special defense stat, as well as a high health stat, making it able to protect itself more easily. Alakazam, on the other hand, has a high Special Defense, and Speed stat.

@simplyplain100 It was, actually, the fact that Umbreon didn't use any Sp. Attack moves while knocking out Alakazam that allowed it to win. Alakazam's regular defense is it's lowest stat, therefore any attack by a nonspecial move creates a lot of damage. Alakazam used mainly special moves, like Hyper Beam, or Zap Cannon, in which Umbreon can endure due to it's high Sp. Defense. So, it was a type disadvantage, stat disadvantage, and the overall naivety of Alex Davis that got Alakazam in the end.

This is what i think pokemon show failed on.

Like sabrina where a great physic trainer and had a abra, she knew the type and they made 3-4 episodes about the special about the physic pokemon

then suddenly som random noob got a alakazam and throw phsycic like some rubbish.

They lost their edge and mystic on the way. And team rocket didnt need to come every singel episode to steal 1 min with the same frase over n over. And team rocket always stole the main story in way too many episodes. IMO
