It's because in the 200 you don't start from 0 velocity twice as you would in 2 100's.. @oJKBo you didnt account for the fact that after the 40 yards the runner has already reached top speed. therefore the next 40 would be run in less time than the first 40. its not as simple as your trying to make it seem.

A legit sub 4.3 runner will usually run at least a 10.4/10.5 in the 100.

but the 40 is played out anyways. not everyone has good acceleration.

which is why some people are better at the 200 than the 100 and what not.

he's a early 4.3 runner hand time..despite what people think hand time is more accurate and that's what coaches go by. as a sophmore he ran a 4.34 i think his 40 was around 4.31 or 4.33 and yes he is that fast..he's one of the most athletic players in college football history along with a michael ray garvin, devin hester etc. now im not saying his coverage doesn't need work but don't doubt his numbers.
