  • Looks the interviewer has to make a piss.

  • its the guy from the chipmunks!!! haha

  • what's the point of this video/interview? this is what I used to discuss with friends in the pub when we were little... waste of time!

  • What an awful interview. Couldn't this guy afford a couple of folding chairs so they could be at least physically comfortable? This guy is not talking to Brian - he's talking at him, just trying to impress him rather than getting any interesting insights. Zero rapport. Total fail.

  • @Pengo115 I don't feel he's talking at Dr. May, it seems he's a bit nervous and has an awful lot of respect for him and is showing him he knows well of their older albums. He's just a curious guy, and gets some pretty interesting comments out of him. It's different.

  • damn!, that guy really did his homework

  • Finally, a great, respectful interview. Shame it was so short.

  • Bad work from the "journalist". He tries to push Brian to give the answers he allready have in his head... Brian does a brilliant job to avoid a fiasco for the interviewer.

  • WHATS WITH THE WANK BACKGROUND MUSIC!!!!

  • dude and i though i knew my queen shit well done you can tell brian was amazed at his knowledge BRILLIANT

  • Yeah great interview dude knows his Queen. Nice change from the mindless questions from interviewers who don't know shit about the band they are interviewing

  • The interviewer's name is Matt Pinfield he was with VH1 and MTV for a while

  • The interviewer sounds like me if i ever meet bran may. i love how gracious brian is to the interviewer. Most 21st century celebrities would be all snobby to that bloke and probrably call securit, but not Dr. May.

  • 'What a life you've had, man!'.....LOL

  • finally! an interviewer who is actually good att interviewing haha:D thnx for this great video:)

  • Agree on that Billiejeangirl123 this is one of the best interviews I ever seen from Brian great interviewer he actually knows what he is talking about. This days usually interviewer has great looks but air in head

  • man....LOL

  • Matt Pinfield! he wrote the liner notes in one of Queen's box sets

  • Wonderful interview - so honest and straight from the heart

  • Only wish the interviewer could speak more clearly,

  • That guy's shaking for some unknown reason...

  • this guy knows so much damn! XD. may was so surprised an american loved queen so much

  • hey DaveRFuller looks like there is someone else on here who knows his queen stuff he he he and hes american too

man so many closed minded people miss soo much in life its pathetic love this mans enthusiasm who cares if he was coked or binging, he was talking to his lifelong idol

  • Haha Matt Pinfield is a cokehead

  • Looks more like speed lol...

  • Now I'm going to listen to some Queen albums

    Thanks for uploading this!!

  • Great interview! He's asking the kind of questions I'd want to ask. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Brian May is a genius! One of the greatest musicians of all time.

  • This should stand as a lesson to all journos...do your homework and be enthusiastic about your subject matter...it makes for a great watch and Brian obviously enjoyed the interview too as a result....well done!

  • What a great interview... I would love to see more interviews like this one... I'm sure Brian would like to do more like this also...

  • well, we all have to start somewhere. I mean, even if it wasn't very glam, they took it, and made something beautiful out of it! I mean, their first album were so beautiful!!!!! Liar ruled! The interviewer seemed nice. Brian, your rule!!!!!!!! Speaking the truth! Love you BRI!!!!

  • is this reason why you came on this page so you could critcize the other dude? Listen to the interview!! Damn...

  • The interviewer seems so excited to meet Brian, it's quite sweet, really.

  • Who wouldn't be excited to meet him?!

  • Not very often does one hear a interviewer asking questions about the early Queen tracks & concert appearances from back in the day. Well done! DLR, on his radio show, did a dissection of Queen I and it was interesting to hear his opinions about all the tracks.

  • he is gay ?

  • He seems a very nice interviewer. He's very interested in all of this. I mean, who wouldn't be? It's Queen - the best band ever.

  • great interview id love to do one with brian

  • Its great to see and interview being done by a guy who has actually done his research

  • Matt Pinfield from MTV

  • very good interviewer...best one I've seen...who is he?

  • great interview! not as a stupid one made by a dutch duchbag!!

  • Yeah, I sorta agree (I'm Dutch), but remember that that interview was done by a government-supported news show (means low budget). And the newsreporters don't have much interest for good music, just money. The interviewer here is way awesome, even though his voice is a bit unclear, he is very kind and very interested.

  • I couldn't agree more! This guy knows his stuff and shows reverence to such a wonderful musician and person.

  • Great interview and it makes a change for the interviewer to have a genuine interest in what he's talking about. Ah, so that explains why the drums sound crap (dull and lacking brightness) on their first album. Interesting!

  • Why doesn't Brian like 'Dont stop me now' ?

  • i heard its because its about gay sex under the influence of ecstacy... dunno if thats true or not.

  • i think the mention of the word 'ecstacy' is just supposed to mean happy/cheerful, and even though it says 'im gonna make a supersonic man outta you' it also says 'woman' at another point, but hey, what do i know

  • yeah, i dont know really just somethingi ve heard. its certainly not my favourite queen song by a long way anyway!

  • @akeel456 He doesn't like like it becuase the guitar track was accidentally deleted (apart from the solo, which is still there). The song featured in the 'Jazz' album. Queen were experiencing their career highs at this point, earning lots of money. Brian feels that fame and fortune went to Freddie's head and that 'Don't Stop Me Now' encompasses Freddie's feelings at the time. The lyrics suggest probably a party atmosphere, not wanting it to stop. References to sex and stuff? probably.

  • @pianoshizzle Haha, glad I remember what my comment was! Thanks for the reply.

I did hear somewhere that the song is based from one of Freddie's "naughty" backstage gatherings, but the lyrics don't seem to fit that too well. The whole song is hinting at something, so if that something were to be sex, he wouldn't have made such a blunt sentence during one of the verses. "I'm a sex machine ready to reload..."

  • Muy bueno ,,bien ..

    Manu.

  • Queen II- he mentions it, THE most amazing vocal layered album ever,I will certainly never forget hearing it for the first time.

  • @Gobglubby Ever since I heard that album, my life changed. The March of the Black Queen still amazes me to this day. I hope that someday Brian would explain to us all what Queen II was about. (Yes, from a technical point of view, it was to showcase layering etc etc) but deep down: who are the white and black queen(s)? the mystical land of rhye? the ogres and fairies? etc etc etc. There is a video on youtube of a radio show in which Queen were interviewed about each song for the first few albums.

  • This is one of the best interviews ive seen of queen, i thought brian would have forgot about great king rat and those others, Is their another interview like this?

  • that's Matt Pinfield of VH1/MTV at the time

  • Does anyone know when this interview took place? Looks fairly recent.

  • its matt pinfield. wheres the rest of the interview?

  • What an interesting interview, no fraff, stupidity or crass questions, just enthusiasm and respect. Great interviewer and Brian May...what a genuinely nice guy.

  • Thanks for posting 5* form me.

Finaly some real questions about music instead of just fluff

  • As lucrative said, these are at least real questions. And musicians need to hear more of those questions, not just the publicity and celebrity part of it.

  • "This guy knows his stuff " lol yea i does I was surprised because Ive seen him on vh1 before cool interview =D

  • this guy's really excited about this interview. you could see him almost like a kid at toys r us. I didn't know def leppard did a version of dear friends. Gotta love queen, and DR.Brian May. My favorite guitarist ever.

  • Hehe the guy needs to let Brian talk more xD I'd probably be the same tbh though lol!

  • Wow great interviewer, who is that? He actually got that Queen II was somewhat of a concept album...must have had the vinyl too to know about Side White/Black, which isn't designated on the Hollywood CD....

  • must be nice for Brian to hear some real questions

  • enjoyed this thanks!!

  • Nice to see some newer stuff. Thanks for posting this interview. Very cool. Brian seems enthusiastic that the guy knew so much about the album lol

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • Cool, thanks! :)

    Queen rules!!

  • very cool interview. the vh1 guy sure knows his queen stuff.
