There are studies available that show that the television does change brain wave patterns but I haven't seen anything concrete to show that it brings you into a dreamlike pattern. If anyone has this proof inbox me please and I'll correct this comment. There may be some evidence out there but it may be contained in a University study or advertising document you have to pay to obtain. It is called a base frequency. Have you ever hooked up an oscilloscope to a CRT and looked at the waveforms? Try it sometime. Go to a TV repair shop and ask them to show you.
