I liked this performance. Perhaps because Elisabeth's voice reminds me of one of my fiancees. The pace is just fine. I used to play everything at a Keith-Emerson-on-crack speed, but there is much to recommend taking the time to enjoy the trip.
im also learning this piece for my final year accompaniment for a colleague who's low voice...and it's ridiculous...painful, i totally understand you...though this pace is slower than what it's originally for...however well done Monrealese. I commend you for gettin through it.
@Dannyellow88 Hi, thanks for your nice comment. You totally understand :) About the speed, well there are factors involved such as how fast does the singer want it, how fast is it possible on this or that piano etc. But I think I don't have to tell you this ;) I've seen your channel, wonderfull playing! You are really talented. I wish you the best of succes on this piece.
Wonderful - thank you very much for the video - I love this piece. A lot of remembers for me...!!! and now Fall is arriving and is bringing us again such feelings...
good work on the piano, can't say I LOVE the song with a soprano singing it. I mean, it kind of converts erlkonig, a DEEP DARK piece, into this. I think it might actually sound a little better if the tone became almost crazed in a way, like shrieking on the high notes...almost in fear or anger. Just a thought, it doesn't sound bad, but it just needs another added aspect of tone in my opinion. Also try and remember, there MULTIPLE people singing the song, you want to try and have different tones.
So do I. This is actually the first upload I've seen where the accompanist posts it, and not a fan of the music, or the singer. Well done with the triplets. I'm actually starting to make my own revisions to the accompaniment based partly on the Liszt adaptation, but mostly on my own. And I'm doing it all by ear as well.
Very SLOW!

it is a little bit too slow ... the base must run much faster ... the piece itself is awesome!
