Maybe I should give tdkr a second chance. Though, I didn't like the artwork, and the plot started very well with its kind of unique style, but it just didn't blow me away like all the other bat-comics on your list. However, Frank Miller is stil a legend. Loved his stories right outta Basin city.
i geuss i just thought it would be pretty neat to see both actors reprise their roles. but the thing is the way the batman movies have been going here recently, dark knight returns doesnt have a chance of being made into the movie. because the style to the story is so much different then the film versions. man people should read more comics lol.

im still at this point not completely sure if the killer was harvey dent or the wife... jmmm.. i think she just wanted to cover for him..but at the same time im not sure...
note mentioning is batman haunted knight..which not many people might know about it..but if you can get your hands on it the buy it. it has 3 amazing stories (well the first 2, the third is kinda lame). and for the first time the mad hatter actually looks evil and cool!!
Great choice for number one, a great story "The Dark Knight Returns". I bought that book sometime after seeing "The Dark Knight".

The Joker was....meh; okay. But I think sickness and darkness in the Joker is what you want- Arkham is definitely the book to go by
