  • Hello everyone!

I appreciate your interest in the sugaring video.

I hope I can of help. I try my best to personally answer questions, but,

sometimes, I get behind, please do not be discouraged or angry. :)

Thank you so much for your faithful viewing, you're a real gem!

  • Hello Nina,i think maybe you could help me:)I saw your awesome video and make my own sugar wax but unfortunately it does not pull out hair.Maybe you could give me some advise why?:)

  • @Zoja757 thank you for watching my video!

I can say that sometimes, sometimes, when the skin is slightly moisturized, it can cause the sugaring not to work. Sometimes, I've had to wash with a soap that is not a moisurizing soap, then, I will use a little bit of powder on the skin to remove excess moisture and oil...dust lightly.

    Preceed with sugaring.

If you have problems after doing this, maybe the hair is not long enough. It should be a couple of days at least worth of growth

  • @redfootwalking sometimes, the hair stubble is so short it's difficult to catch on the sugar and strip. I hope this helps. Please let me know!!! :) thanks!

  • Hello Nina,i wish you could help me:) i do sugar wax and i don't no what to do because it doesn't pull out hair;/ Maybe you know what's wrong?

  • is it true that i can use a tee shirt as the waxing strip?

  • @MsJayj09 Hi,

    thanks for watching my video.

I've never used t-shirt (the two-way stretch knit fabric), however, I've heard of people doing so, but,

I only use a non-stretch 100% cotton (muslin, sheeting, etc) Because it doesn't stretch while using.

    :) thanks!

  • hey! luvly tutorial.. but i hv a problem..my sugar wax is either too hot to apply or it doesnt stick to d skin at al..as in it becomes crystallised like a toffeee..!! am not able to proceeed.. :( help!!

  • hey.... what type of cloths cud i use for the sugaring... is cotton strips of material ok? x

  • Wow. I was looking for information on how to shape my eyebrows and came across the sugaring method on another website so I came here to find out more. This is so cool. The re-usable cotton strips and the simple ingredients are a big plus! :) Thanks a lot!

  • you should apply the sugar downwards or to the direction your hair grows, and the strip being pulled from the bottom, altering the growth of the hair

  • heyyy Nina! i have a question- how much does it hurt when you peel off the cloth strips?

  • Thank you! I've always wanted to do sugaring. I'll try it on a small patch of my legs first though, just to test it out! I'll post my results later. Thanks Nina! :D

  • do you need to heat up the wax u made before using it or is it good to go as is?

  • is there a permanent way to remove hair once and for all??? never ever have to wax, shave or anything! ...im lazy.

    thanks!

    great recipe n vid

  • hi there, thanks for you tutorial!! can you also apply this on your arm?

  • thank you nina I love you....I have been looking for this everywhere.... one question sugaring can be done after or before shower... .. does it matter?

  • @goofy112233 Hi there, thanks for watching my vid. I prefer prior to showering so I can just wash away all excess sugar. Either way is fine though. :) thanks!

  • hey hun sorry to bother you, just was wondering someone mentioned something about the wax being used pliable also instead of using the cloth to rip the hairs out is this safe and will it work with the same recipe you use?

  • Hey there siciliangirl22, how are you? no problem...I love hearing from you! :0) the method they mentioned is what I call the "ball method" because it's like a pliable texture...you would use the same recipe, but, the cooking time is a lot different and I have not found a way to explain it well enough yet, but, yes, it's the same measurements, longer, slower cooking. :0) take care dear! :0) thanks for watching and have a great weekend!! :0) HUGS!!

  • are you using like a paper towel to wax you legs in the video?

and will paper towels work to do this?

  • Hey there!! thanks for watching my video!

I was using a cloth strip, just a piece of cotton fabric cut into a rectangular shape...paper towels probably won't work...but, you can either cut up a piece of cloth or buy woven waxing strips at your local beauty supply. :0) tell me what you think, thanks again!! :0) happy summer!

  • i got like these red spots on my legs after waxing :( and it's still there after a month!!

will sugaring cause the red spots too :(

do u put on any lotion or stuff after sugaring?

    thx!!

  • Ur welcome...hi there! sorry to hear about the red spots. with sugaring, there aren't any harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients. I would say sugaring would be less likely to cause red spots. :0)

I really hope everything works out for you. You may be allergic to something in the wax...maybe. After sugaring, always wash skin well with warm water, mild soap, rinse in cold water, pat dry and then, you can lotion you legs. Take care dear!! :0) Thank you so much! Nina

  • how do you make it what do u use?

  • Hello there jorgelg18, thanks for watching my video! I have a video that you may like to watch, it has the recipe, the instructions and I have a couple of other videos with the details also. Thanks! Nina

  • So, when you are making this, how do you tell if you have burnt it? Because i tried making this today and i think i burnt it, it was dark colored and wouldn't work, it was sticky but dried really fast and than was hard as a rock. And it wouldn't stick to the hair

  • Ladies! I'ma guy, but the same problems. Fucking hairy legs. Thanx for this vid upload. I will practise, even painful it is

  • Yes, yes, even guys want to experience the joy of smooth skin. My children's swim teacher sugars his legs and back because he was blessed with abundant body hair and being a swim coach, a lot of flesh shows. :0)

You are most welcome and if you have any questions or concerns with your sugar experience, please let me know; that's what I'm here for!! :0) have a great day, Nina

  • to use it as a hair removal, i saw somewhere that denim stips were good but i dont know if they are specially made for waxing or if you could do something like cut up an old pair of jeans lol

  • Hey there! Thanks for watching my video!

Yes, denim (jeans), pillow cases, whatever you've got should work...I have a bunch of old jeans also...maybe I'll give it a try next sugaring! :0) :0) take care!!! hehehe

    ;0) Nina

  • what do you use to remove the wax?

  • Hi, thanks for watching my video! To remove sugar...are you talking about as a hair remover or are you talking about clean up after sugaring?

  • Does sugaring hurt? Because when i get my eyebrows done, my skin is sensitive so it causes my eyes to gush water. waxing is painful for me, so I don't really know.

Is sugaring like waxing -- painwise?

  • Hi there SheWritesToLive,

thanks for watching my video. Sugaring does sting a little bit, but, I wouldn't say it really "hurts". It will sting for a couple of seconds and what you may want to do to take away the attention from the sting is to apply a cold face towel to the area...but, it really doesn't hurt that bad...just kind of stings...a bit. :)

I guess I've become used to it after all these years. :0) take care,

    Nina

  • say we dont have any waxing strips.

    what then?

  • Hi there and thanks for watching my video! You can cut up a piece of cotton; any piece of cotton cloth will be fine. I used an old bed sheet from a garage sale...and the left over pieces I used for a project. :) thanks!!

  • you can also use your hands thats what i do its more quicker for me

  • Fantastic videos! I've wanted to try this for a while and I can't shave my legs anymore (too many ingrown hairs and I have had skin infections). Waxing hurts and I was looking for something non toxic too. I tried the Nair and got chemical burns on my legs! I had heard about sugaring but was worried it would be difficult to get the hang of. Thanks for the videos!

  • Hello and thank you for watching my video! If you want, there are couple of other videos I've uploaded that may be of help...if you can't find what you're looking for, let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you out! :0) take care and thanks again!

  • hi uhmm just wanna ask.. how's the hair when it grows back? i mean is it like soft and thin? or would it be hard and thick? i havent shaved my legs before ever because im afraid the hair would get thick.. so would it be like that too with sugaring?

  • hi uhmm just wanna ask.. how's the hair when it grows back? i mean is it like soft and thin? or would it be hard and thick? i havent shaved my legs before ever because im afraid the hair would get thick.. so would it be like that too with sugaring?

  • That's a great question! The hair grows back a lot finer and softer than hair that is shaved. It's so much nicer and often the hair is less dark in appearance than the shaved hair...that's what I've experienced and what a lot of people have shared with me about their experience!

  • thank you so much for the reply and for adding me as friends.. *hugs*

  • ohmygod thank you so much.. youre such a life saver.. im gonna try this.. yay~!

  • Hi there! Thank you so much for watching my video!!!

  • will i get ingrown hairs?

  • Hello there!! I haven't experienced ingrown hairs before, so, I really can't give an answer from personal experience, but, I can say that I talked with someone about this; she has about 40 years experience with sugaring; my Auntie; she suggests using a tweezer to remove the hair and afterwards, apply an antiseptic to the affected area. Sugaring may work if it's not pus filled or irritated yet. thanks

  • hey nina, im just wondering... whats the difference between waxing and sugaring? they look the same.

  • Hi there! Thanks for watching my video. Great question...

the biggest difference in sugaring and waxing is that sugaring contains all natural ingredients that can be made at home and most waxes contain at least a few if not all synthetic ingredients. Natural ingredients are less likely to give rashes or chemical burns.

  • That is the main difference; also, I have tried commercial products and some fo them are not as effective and gentle on my skin. The cost is significantly difference; sugaring is just pennies and store bought wax is 60% more (give or take). Oh, one more difference is...sugar can be used in either strip method or ball method...Thanks again!!

    take care

  • how do you sugar in ball method?

and is sugaring less painfull than waxing or the same?

  • really great vid!!

  • thank you!! :0)

  • great great vid!! thanks for the tips!!

  • thank you!! ur welcome! :0)

  • i know that your supposed to remove the hair from the opposite direction of hair growth when you're waxing, but is it the same for sugaring?

    thanks!

  • lol...you are welcome! any time! :)

  • Realli good video...

ii was just wondering though, does it hurt??

  • Thank you! :0) It has a itty bitty "sting" at first, but, it's not nearly as bad as when you remove a bandaid from your arm. It doesn't really hurt though, just an itty bitty sting, and suddenly the sting is gone.

:0) The first time I sugared, I was holding my breath hoping it wouldn't hurt too much.

    :0) take care, Nina

  • Thank you for your comment! :) I do something a little weird...I use lemon juice on my arms and legs every now and then...like when I decide to pamper myself, I get a cut lemon or a small cup of lemon juice and I just rub it into my skin (during showering)...been doing that for at least as long as my eldest daughter was born. I've had a lot of cuts and scrapes and there are not spots or discolorations. Send me a message on my profile if you'd like also. Thanks again!!

  • HUGS!! You made my day! Thank you so much for watching my video!! :) have a great day!!

  • Nina, you are amazing with hair removal advice. I heart you.

  • Hello, great video!!

What kind of cloth did u use??

  • I just used some old sheet, I cut into strips. Thanks!!!

  • I'm thrilled! Thank YOU so very much and I look forward to hearing how you liked it! :) I too can be quite lazy at times. :) lol

  • thank yu SO MUCH!! ^_^ this is perfect! yu helped mee alot n answered all of my questions of sugaring! ^-^ i think ill try it wen i have the time (im a lazy person -_-) ^.^ hehe

  • Lets get together.

  • Thank you!! Yes, this works great on short hair as long as you can see the hair and it's a little beyond "stubble" length, it should work beautifully. I usually go about 3 weeks with smooth skin, then, when the new hair grows in, it's fine and not prickly. The 2nd time you sugar will be even better because the hair is usually finer from not being shaved. :0)

  • Also, when you sugar and you miss a hair or two, don't worry, you can just redo that area without worries.

I love sugaring!!! :) WEEEEE (lol) I'm sounding nutty, I need my breakfast! lol

  • can this be used on short hair and how long do the results last?

    thanks :D

    great vid!
