  • The good ones always make it look so easy

  • bam

    your tone is amazing.

    fresh rotosounds?

  • @losingitrush You nailed it! The only strings I use on my Jazz Bass and my Rickenbacker.

  • you're missing a ton of stuff but keep trying, sometimes you just have to sit back and listen and hum the parts out. nice try though.

  • CALL LOCAL ROCK FM RADIO STATIONS Request Rush Song CARAVAN!!

  • Sounds good..Geddy plays some differant right hand techniques..He has so much over head in his tone and plays rakes alot. Him and Steve Harris were my big influences. Still working on the solo part?

  • @MXP553 I havent had the time to sit and record a video of the whole song yet. I think I got it down...Hopefully I'll have some time soon to do it.

  • hey bro awsome video. great right hand technique, and amazing tone.. sounds just like geddy. what is your exact setup for this video? sansamp?

  • @lordertai No Sansamp. Just an Ampeg SVT-III through 2 crappy Crate 10" p.a. speakers.

  • Nice seats, afterimage289! I got lucky enough to snag 7th row infront of Lerxst (again!) on this tour. I had the exact same seats on the 2007 leg of the S&A Tour and 3rd row in front of Dirk on the 2008 leg of S&A Tour. Our boys are back! :)

  • @DaveTinNY I only made it to the 2007 leg of the S&A tour twice. 5th row infront of Ged, and 15th row infront of Al. Missed the 2008 leg. had to sell my 13 row center seats to pay for damages made on my vehicle. ex-gf's can be brutal!

  • @afterimage289 ouch selling Rush tickets no matter where they are is brutal

  • thats a great job..

  • Awesome cover... looking forward to the jam part

  • This drummer loves your bass playing. Nice job!

RUSH has come back in a BIG way with Caravan. Can't waiti 'til the SEP 3rd show in NJ.

  • @DaveTinNY I'm going to see them Aug. 29th in Columbus....12th row! :-)

  • @DaveTinNY

Be ready, Dave. 3 hour show. They play for 2 1/2 with a half hour intermission. I saw them in Milwaukee on July 3rd. Awesome, AWESOME show!!

  • @Stryder46 i was in milwaukee as well. it was great!!

  • nice job bro. I have the same bass !! Geddy is an animal with his picking hand technique. I'm working on that style myself. Not easy, he's all about chords since vapor trails. I'm gonna start learning this one too. Thanks for the head start !! Again, great job !

  • What is the point of learning this song?

  • @SciMasterGeneral What is the point of saying stupid shit?

  • the world needs more bassists like you

  • Well done AI289.

  • 2112th view. nice.

  • Woooow, dude!! Your cover is awesome!!

Your tone is very similar to Geddy's =) Loved it!

    Keep rockin'!

  • Great first shot. Great tone. Thanks

  • how come no one on here has the "jam" part? lol

  • @aj71cuda I almost have all the jam part figured out....I think? It's taking a while to get all the patterns down. Hopefully I'll be posting the whole song soon.

  • @afterimage289 Allright sounds good, I just love that part, you kind of have to crank it up, and you get goosebumps...lol... at least I do. :)

  • @aj71cuda I do, check out my cover! it's in the sidebar.

  • @aj71cuda If you wanna see the "jam" part, there's this video I found by a dude named "Do21or12Die" and the video is named Rush - Caravan (Bass Cover)* He does a really good cover and is pretty much the same as this video, but it's the entire song. :)

  • noticed that tatoo- R.I.P. peter steele

  • @BrutallyZebb Yes indeed. That was the first tat I got when I was 18. you cant see the 4 Rush tats on my right arm :-) Maybe just the t4e above my wrist....

  • Great Job.. Geddy would be proud!!!

  • @dbsizzle Thank you for the compliment. Made my morning a little better :-)

  • I like the slide down

  • I like it ! great job.

  • Very nice...

  • Too bad you didnt do the instrumental bit! oh well, its pretty darn amazing anyway! :)

  • @Xanaseb I'm still working on it, and thanks :-)

  • BTW, nice playing and great tone. What amp do you use? Ampeg? Congrats dude. Greetings from México.

  • joke, right?

  • Great job. That slide at 1:30 is perfect.

  • Nice job!

  • excellent playing man! i like your attack and bass tone

  • @frl1990 I learned everything I know from Mr. Geddy Lee :-)

  • That's going to be really tough for Geddy to play live while he's singing. I hope he's practicing alot. Nice sound btw...what strings are you using and what gauge?

  • @wrinkleneckbass Rotosound Swing Bass 66's. Gauges 45-105. I use those on all my basses.

  • @wrinkleneckbass Dude, I don't pretend to be rude at all, but you don't have to worry if Geddy Lee practice or not. He's from a rare breed of people that can play a complex bass line while singing to a very different singing line. Others I know that can do that are Dave Mustaine and Paul McCartney, and I don't know more, so don't you worry about him, he'll do it well. Geddy Lee can sing, play bass, play the keyboards and mow the lawn at the same time if he wanted to. Peace.

  • Nice Man. So early!!!!

  • The part after this is tricky. I've been able to make out that it's just a lot different grooves based around G.

  • @iloverush123 That's what I had picked out as well...I know it's based around G...just trying to get the patterns down. I have other parts after that done, but I figured I'd wait till I got the whole thing done to post the rest of it.

  • Damn. I wanted to do it first. Oh well, great cover. How did Ged get his Jazz to to sound so Ric like?

  • @iloverush123 Well I just read he's using ORANGE amps now...so maybe that's how he's doing it. I know the Sansamp driver he's been using for the last decade or so was how he was getting a sound similar to that...like the Rush in Rio dvd....His tone is punchy as hell. So I guess there will be no dryers, vending machines, or chicken cookers this time :-)

  • @afterimage289 It really sounds like an articulate crunch. I wasn't a fan of his Snakes tone. I found it too metallic. I wouldn't attribute the sound entirely to the SansAmp(which is great by the way), as much as I would to the Front of House engineer. And it's good that he is using amps again, let's get him to bring back the Ric 4080 doubleneck and the Oberheim synths while We're at it.

  • BRAVO! Excellent tone! Sometimes would just rather listen to this!

  • Caravan is another instant classic...sounds great...

  • hey man what amp are u using and whats the eq?

  • I'm using an Ampeg SVT-III head and it's plugged into 2 crappy Crate P.A. 10" speakers. That's all I have for an apartment. My Hartke cabs are at my jam spot. I have the 10 band Eq set in kind of a V shape....More like a retarded U shape.

  • Sounds great! Really like that right hand. Especially the sections that start @ 1:10 & 2:27

    Nice feel!

  • @wnils Thanks man.

  • @wnils Hey, I stopped by your channel and found this. He does a great job.
