Yea NewAgeEagles is correct the body and neck are not made of ivory. If anything on the bass is ivory it's the nut. The body looks like its flame or quilted maple. It is no doubt an amazing bass but ibain93's facts are a little off.
this is extravagant, tasteless bullshit, sure it's great to have a good, reliable guitar but 90% of the whole affair relies on the musician. just because you have the world's most expensive guitar doesn't mean you're the world's best player.
lol who ever made this video is a little bit off. its a ritter bass (and that one i believe isn't 100000, its more like 20 000, like alot of his specialty basses). the bass itself isnt made from 10,000 ivory, the nut is. thats a huge huge difference.
Expensive? Yes. Most expensive? Not even close at 10k. That said, I would make sweet sweet love to this bass, as long as it promised never to let me hear that horrendous song again.
as soon as i read "10,00 year old ivory" I was just kept saying "why would you do that omg why would you do that?" but it is a very beautiful instrument, I cannot deny that.
yea but no actual musician would buy it because it probably doesn't play that well, and not many have disposable income to want to spend that much on a bass. Just buy a nice looking, nice playing bass for 2k and be happy.
i looked the most expenisive bass guitar up and this came up on the web somewhere else, when i read the descripition i almost drooled but i think that playing it would just fuck it up,if i paid that much for anything it better be really fucking useful or advanced, like having an internal proximity wah and all of the actually useful stuff, damn if id pay that because its pretty with rare things in it,id pay that if it were worth it in use though, not in shiny rare shit
well if the price is that high you must hear sound tht is the same lvl but i think it sounds very bad becouse the tone is very bad i think after several ages like 10:000

Ok black diamonds, gold and diamonds, that alone should be worth more than this! Rare exotic maple. woods get fucking expensive, especially GOOD maple. The nut was carved from the mammoth ivory, and yeah 10,000 years old, doubt it! but if this thing is made of what they say it is than it should be worth more than $100k!!!
this song sucks ass, i highly doubt its made of mammoth. and the most expensive guitar is 2.7 million dollars fender stratocastor that is autographed by a host of famous musicians
10,000 year old mammoth ivory yeah? I'd cough to hide the large bullshit i'm screaming right now, but the fact that it's a bass guitar means i can dispense with petty discretion... Wow, my uncle got a Gibson, custom made from the Gibson factory in the 60's, he bought it for 400$, which Is equal to about 10,000$ now. He had it appraised at 250,000$, and he sold it for that price. 250,000$.

haha enough elephant ivory to make a bass guitar would cost well over $100,000 since its illegal in every country, mammoth ivory would be much more than that, and someone dumb enough to make a instrument out of it instead of put it in some museum is rediculous.
@chandlerthames : It's only the nut that is carved of mammoth ivory. Also, trade of mammoth ivory is legal and is used in craft today because it doesn't threaten a living specie.
No way i would ever want this bass. I would have a heart attack if i just set it in its case too hard. I couldn't handle the pressure of an instrument that expensive.

Actually, you are not giving it to a person, you are giving it to a company. How about YOU learn about general distribution before speaking about an economic topic, jackass. By giving money to a company, you gave money to the other businesses that collect a part of that businesses money. Before you know it, that money is everywhere, helping the economy a fraction of a percent. But a fraction of a percent times the U.S. population is a LOT. One purchase helps that much. Please use logic, sir.
There is an OWNER of the "company".Who would collect the majority of the money and LAUGH as he went to the bank with your life savings you spent on a guitar that probably only cost about 60k to make. Get the hell outta here.. the percentage of the money that would go to the rest of the employees is VERY MINIMAL, maybe 20% TOPS. come on man have you ever owned or worked for a major company in your life? ? Use YOUR logic... Sir.. How do you think ppl become so rich? While others are poor? Duh
I have been using my logic. You just don't understand it. I've said that a FRACTION of a percent would go towards helping the economy. Yes, there WOULD be some owner sitting on his high horse laughing and becoming more rich, but a small part of that money would go towards everything else. Not all of the money would be a waste. I'm not saying that you should pick this bass over a house or something, but if you've got the money to chance it, go ahead. It's definately not going to HURT the economy.
please give me a country who's economy is booming and PLEASE supply proof... I don't care who bought it... BOTTOM LINE... SPENDING 200k ON SOMETHING THATS PROBABLY NOT WORTH 50k IS STUPID... Thats all I was trying to say... ESPECIALLY when the odds are you won't even play it...
But can you play it good ?
It's better to have a 100$ guitar and play AWESOME then to have a 10000$ guitar and play bad.

would it matter who bought it ?
please give me a country who's economy is booming and PLEASE supply proof... I don't care who bought it... BOTTOM LINE... SPENDING 200k ON SOMETHING THATS PROBABLY NOT WORTH 50k IS STUPID... Thats all I was trying to say... ESPECIALLY when the odds are you won't even play it...
