I'm disappointed about that. I still not understand why to make a remake of a movie which is only about 2 years old and so good! That's only usa money making. Nothing against this movie or Miley but the french one will always be the better one. If they would at least changed it a little bit but it seems like the exactly same scenes.

@Reneeforsure That's pretty simple: Americans usually don't like dubbed/foreign movies. They like movies they can relate to. The remake is not a bad thing, a larger public will get to see the story. If you read a bit about it, you probably know that the person who wrote and directed the first one also wrote and directed the remake..

@winterinthestars I know but no one will care about the french one anymore. I talked to many people who didn't even know this version exists. I still think it's just money making. Same goes with the Stieg Larsson books. The movies based on the books came out in swedish cinemas 2 years ago and now they are doing american remakes already. The director said himself: That's business.

@Reneeforsure Honestly? No one but the French cared for the french version. I don't think any English-speaking North American bought the DVD. It has been out for almost three years. It has done its time. Everybody who needed to see it already did. An American production is an opportunity that can only lead to more people watching the original. This is no competition. It can hurt. And yes, money is always involve. But still, they are sharing the story with a wider public.

I'm not saying it will be a bad movie but I just think the american film industry wants to make money with it too which seems like not fair cause France makes so many good movies but now no one will care anymore.

I don't see how it is unfair. France makes movies and France enjoys them. Other countries don't. That's the sad reality. Now, thanks to - whoever is behind this project- a french story will be on International screens. Shouldn't you be proud? Or happy? I don't know. Anything but jealous and unhappy.

@winterinthestars 1. Well, I wouldn't be proud - cause I'm not french anyways. ^^ 2. They didn't even promote this movie in america or many other parts of europe. Of course they didn't watch it. I also got to know this movie by accident. 3. I think it would have been great if they would have released the french version world wide. They could have done that even three years later as well. That would have been a much cooler idea I think. ;) Doesn't matter. I have my opinion.
