  • *rifle :)

  • bullpup, extra barrel length but as you can tell by my Display picture i like the l85 and am used to them

  • Nice gun but does anyone know where you can buy one or any of the other ICS varients of the SA80. Many of the online retailers have them on there page but are always out of stock or dont have the carbine version. Would kinda like to own the whole ICS set but if they dont sell them anymore, kind of a bummer.

  • Personally i prefer bullpup weapons and really want to get a WE L85A2 eventually

  • bullpup is more better mainly because ive used the real thing and im more used to its mecanism

  • I'm more of a fan of the standard vs bullpup, just because I have more experience with the real thing (I'm American and own an AR-15).

  • bullpup is the best and ive used the real thing

  • .32g?

  • Hey JAi can you review some m16´s :D

  • I think the blowback version is better and doesnt jam that much.It is brittish and is maybe not the best quality but,you do get a kick out of shooting it and if you like the style you will love the gun.

  • Do you think you can change the handguard/barrel setup to that of an l86 or l86 a2?

  • Personally i prefer bull-pups to the standard style because they are different and i also like having a longer barrel but shorter gun length.

  • As a left handed airsofter, I would say that the best bullpup you can get is a Cyma FAMAS. The gun is is very friendly to left handed users as the cheek rest can be put on either side and the selector switch is on the bottom of the stock behind the magazine, so you won't have to take your shooting hand off the handle. Speaking of handles, the contours of the FAMAS just melts in your hands.

  • i like the idea of bulpup rifles but i don't like how expensive they are here in Canada; all in all i can use both so i don't mind.

  • I prefer bullpup as it makes the rifle much more mobile, but seeing as my first guns were all g36cs and m4s, they just seem more familiar. In the end, they all have their good and bad points and being asked to choose which is better is like trying to decide which of your kids is your favourite

  • My first airsoft gun was an Ares TAR-21, so I've always been used to bullpups. I find their tendency to be back-heavy very nice, as when the gun is braced against your shoulder you can hold it there all day, no problem. The first time I used a conventional layout AEG was quite interesting actually, it was a full metal RPK, and was really front-heavy. That's not good when you're used to having your gun permanently shouldered!

  • My first airsoft gun was an Ares TAR-21, so I've always been used to bullpups. I find their tendency to be back-heavy very nice, as when the gun is braced against your shoulder you can

  • Why you dont use the bolt catch?

  • I use a TM AUG A1. in terms of ergonomics, it's probably the most comfortable bullpup rifle given the current market selection.I would prefer the bullpup rifles compared to the traditional AK or M4 type assebly, but the SIG series are quite nice

  • M16 SPR or DMR is what i prefer but i do really like the L85 series.

  • Steyr AUG is awesome! could u do a review on one of those.? cant really find too many good ones...

  • My main rifle is a P90, so I guess I prefer bullpups..

  • i like bulpups, the aug being my favourite i think they are awsome and i have no comfortability issues

  • I see behind u that u have a Cnc machine. My dad runs a Cnc machine (he is a tool and die maker) I kinda thought that was funny nice vid by the way bye

  • Thats some nice canned product placement you have going on there. Haha!

    5:08 - 5:23

  • Great Review Jai, i have been looking for a review of this gun for quite a while now,

i personally perfer Bull-pups especially the L85 as i have used the Real thing, so am really used to it, but also, the L85 being Stamped Steel and Nylon Fibre in Construction is very sturdy in comparison to other bull-pup rifles like the the Real Sword Type 97, making it really good for woodland skirmishes but thats debetable on perferance, i have one question, would recommend the G&G version or the ICS Version

  • As far as I can see the fuse is different than in my L85 (more than 2 years old).

  • personally i perfere either. the have stong points and weak points. i would use a bullpup for effecivness and would run a combate scope. and i would run a standerd rifle more fore glits and glam.

  • this is really the only bullpup i like

  • I cant find this at any web site!!! help me? where did you get it from

  • Both bulpup and non bulpup guns have compelling features. But id prefer a bulpup gun because of the long length barrel but short length of the overall gun. Could you review the Ares tavor tar 21

  • Both regular and bullpup have interest for me, but bullpups are the way I prefer!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this gun its my baby:)

  • The voice of Soap McTavish O__O

  • your intro makes me feel like ima have a seizure.

  • HOW MUCH???????( in cost )

  • the idea of magazine at the back is so they can make the weapon shorter while maintaining the barrel length for accuracy. it is only ever designed to be right handed to keep things simple, and only 1 has ever been made left handed by special orders. in reality it would have a standard 30 round magazine and can be effective up 200 meters for am induvidual or 400 meters for a squad. as standard it has standard sights for prepared firing, and battle sights. well, you get the idea. i love this rifl

  • @killthebrainless i have used this thing in real life firing blanks and lives and its a brilliant weapon, feels brilliant in the sholder, easy to carry when doing fire and manouver, iron sights are great and the 300 metre range is amazing mate i agree toatally

  • @TheSambo95 i use the cadet version, L98A2 cadet gp rifle. the only key difference is the gas parts are different for rates of fire, so if the cadet rifle is anything to go by (and from what you said the similarities are in large numbers) it is an extremely good rifle

  • What fps was this rifle firing out of the box?

  • @ThePartyBosss Mine shoots around 340.

  • Awesome review! Jai, when you get a chance I'd really like to see a review of the Systema PTW if you can borrow one (or better, a Tack modded one). Very few good reviews on the Systema with an accuracy test included. Keep up the great work!

  • @morati1963 We could get one here no problem. However, the chances are it'll have a stupid intermittent problem or a complete mechanical failure are pretty damned high. Essentially, if we review a good one... we'd technically be reviewing all the after-market parts that cost around $800-$1000 to get it to shoot reliably! Just ask Scoutthedoggie or Kenny about theirs! ;-) - JAi

  • @EpicAirsoftHD

Sounds like you are not a fan of them JAi......With the needed upgrades however, they are in a class by themselves.

  • @morati1963 I can't see the attraction of Systema any more. $1000 for a gun that doesn't perform as you'd expect it to out of the box. In my opinion, there's far better (and more varied) things you can spend your money on in Airsoft. I can guarantee that they wouldn't perform any better than the guns we've tested so far...

  • @EpicAirsoftHD You have shown me the true Path of wisdom, I just fell in love with that Rifle XD, btw its Puff

  • @EpicAirsoftHD I personally own this gun and let me just say it is the most simple to upgrade. takes me 30 seconds to get to the gearbox. fuck ares, fuck g&G, ICS IS THE SHIT

  • @kellycolburn1 aww dude could you please tell me where you got yours, I'm having a incredibly hard time finding ICS l85s.

  • @85oldskoolyota ah, im not from the UK, but if you are in america i know evike carries some, but they're all out of stock unfortunately.airsoft gi has the l86lsw still in stock though. kinda pricey however

  • @kellycolburn1 oh alright yeah its funny how airsoft gi adds a extra $100 for non-g&g products lol, but thanks for the reply.

  • @85oldskoolyota exactly, i bought mine from evike for that reason, less money, same quality shipping, etc. i wouldnt get the ics l85 again though, they're m4's are sexier

  • 28 days later

  • Do you suspect anytime soon there will be a KWA Mark 4 review on this channel?

  • A British guy told me that UK buy weapons from foreign countries for their army, I didn't knew they have made the L85.

Seriously, I heard it from many people.

  • @AndroidDevil The L85 has been the standard infantry firearm for approximately 30 years or so now :)

We do bring in other weapons though. Like the GMPG which originates from Belgium i believe.

  • Do you have any experience with real guns?

  • @39519590 Yes, I started out using real steel. Everything from .22 to .50 and I even have an old channel with me shooting some of the large calibre stuff. Shooting targets gets pretty boring after a while, hence why I started playing Airsoft. You can check it out by typing: .50 Anti-tank gun at Warcop

Be warned... it's old as the hills we're shooting on! :-)

  • @EpicAirsoftHD Just to rectify, infantry use sa80's with either an susat or acog. Corps use ironsights =)

  • @greyelement Although that is becoming less and less the case now... ACOGs are most common, SUSATs are being trickled down to Corps, and the new Elcan Spectre's are beginning to show up in a few armouries.

  • subtitles.....enough said

  • my m8 has got a D_Boys L85 which was blow back and the blow back buggerd the gun and he got rid of the blow back and it worked better so i was wordering if my m4 carbine thats has blowback, if i get rid of the blow back would it work better or is there no point of the trouble? plz reply back

  • @MrMrairsoftlord A blowback in general means more moving parts, which increases the risk for jamming. If you're experiencing problems with your gun you should probably try to disable the blowback.

  • i fell in love with this gun when i started using it, for me it's one of those airsoft guns that you can just pick up and start shooting with and when you have the 3 point sling on it, it just sits so nicely across the front of your body, i personally think it is a well made airsoft gun and it gets my vote :)

  • i rather like the bullpup design for my weapon of choice is a G&G F2000 and it works exceptionally

  • Regular layout weapons are my usual choice, like the A&K Masada, but i do like a few bullpup rifles, the FN F2000 Tavor 21, never used a Tar but have a G&G F2000

  • ICS is a horrible company

  • the reason the trigger guard is like it is is so that it can be removed and the weapon can be shot while using very thick Arctic gloves...

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeEdwinster Ya I play BF3

  • Finally Jai!

  • Errrm. @4:15 'shell cases wold be coming off and that would be your main worry.'

no. your main worry would be the bolt taking one of your fingers off or smashing your jaw.

  • im not into this kind of thing, but nice detailed review or whatever i just watched for 7 minutes.

  • Normally bull-pup but occasionally I have to switch to my M4 when the tavor is in the shop

  • quick point if u have ever served in the British army you will know that is NOT a carry handle ! your Platoon Sgt would tear you a knew 1 if used in such a way and its also why when you pt a custom sight ie ACOG or even the standard SUSAT the Iron Sights Rail is removed

  • @DPGCRFC11 I know, i just learnt that at army cadets

  • Its gotta be a bullpup rifle for me. First rifle I ever had was the TM FAMAS SV, and I love ICS quality and rigidity that they have, ever since I had one of the M4's they produced. Always wanted to get an AEG of the SA80/L85 series ever since I was a kid and discovered that was the rifle of the British Armed Forces. This would be the pin-ultimate rifle for me.. now just to get the cash!

Great Review guys, as well, it answered a question I would have asked about Lipo and ICS, as well as range :)

  • Great review again Jai. The gun looks really nice.

  • Were do you review the guns?

  • Nice video :), in airsoft I don't mind weather it' bullpup or regular, but being a cadet and having used the l85A2 (however only on semi-DAMN YOU HEALTH AND SAFTEY) Its a bitch to load and use properly whilst prone since all the important stuffs on the right side of the weapon!

  • @stuartab1 I used the F88 Austeyr through cadets (in Australia) and like you, was only allowed Semi-auto. Still awesome fun though!

  • @MrBunsen1 Very true! :)

  • will kwa m4 mags work with this?

  • @MrSpitzer13 Are they Marui compatible, then yes.

  • Scout just brought you a new subbbb. :D

  • I bring greetings from your friends in America.

  • Anyone else feel like the vise is unnecessary? I mean airsoft guns aren't all that accurate, and there's no recoil. There really wouldn't be a difference.

  • Thanks for posting this video! I really liked it and I think I may buy one now.

  • As a left handed shooter using ICS L85 and L86 I don't have much issue with getting scrapes or scratches from my magazine like you mentioned in the vid and I actually find it better as a left handed shooter because I can keep my right hand on the gun keeping two points of contact to the gun keeping it on target while I reload.

  • Dont get me wrong im not a COD fanboy but he sounds alot like soap

  • Comment removed

  • As an american i have to say I love my m16 but the Bullpup guns are very nice my fav hav to be the A-91 and L85

  • @SuperAussm u played BF3?

  • lol this time with something british ? that gun was made in germany if im not mistaken. yes england invented it but the germans improved it and made that if im not mistaken

  • @nuclearfish010 It's open to debate. This gun was made in Britain in 1985, it was then modified into the A2 version in 2000 by H&K who at that time were owned by a British company; Royal Ordinance. So, there you go... it's Frankenstein's Monster weaponised!

  • @EpicAirsoftHD It is a British firearm, it's classed as one. Like a person has a nationality in a passport. The L85A1 had problems with shell ejecting and the plastic cheek-rest melting, overheating, etc. But as EpicAirsoftHD mentioned, H&K fixed it up, tweaked it, and solved all the issues with it, and today it works as a dream. We all know H&K are known for their reliable weapons. But the first variant was manufactured in the UK, making in British, no matter what variant.

  • @nuclearfish010 Think H&K is owned by BA SYSTEMS who own various arms manufacturers and development companies. Used to see articles about these companies in the in-house magazine when i worked there.

  • yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss this is a great video congratulations !!!! (:

  • great review mate, ive always been a bit iffy about bullpup designs :S

oh ive been meaning to ask. where do you film these... what are the crazy machines ??

  • è uguale al mioo LoooL :D

  • good video,ye should do a top-gear style leader board with the spread of each gun! :D well done

  • sounds alot like my dad, my "accent" liek his too.. lol

  • Standard Mag loading for me!

  • Do you have a contract with an airsoft store, or with ICS directly? How do you afford all the guns?

  • It just looks like bullpup's are insanely awkward to use. I dunno, that's just me I guess.

  • dont ya just hate it when noobs pull back the cocking handle with their right rand? Its ergonomically shaped to the left index finger dummy :) jeez..

Love your vids Jai keep up the good work

  • Bullpups are the future, much shorter but more accurate than traditional guns. The Tavor is the better weapon though, fire selector is in the proper position at your thumb and weight distibution is better. Both Tavor and this have quick change springs so I have 330fps for CQB and change to 370 for forest. One bullpup does it all man.

  • i am an army cadet and we use the L98 A2 which is based on the L85 A2 and as a real steal weapon it is damn good, however it can be a pain in the cbackside if your new to the weapon sytem to change mag quickly and im just asuming it will be rather similar with the airsoft version. however with a little practice it is a doddle

  • this guy looks just like soap! if u read this are u the guy who plays him in the game?!

  • Hey is there any chance you guys could do a video of Jai's airsoft gun collection? thanks

  • @EpicAirsoftHD Nice review. I've heard that the ics l85 has some trigger issues. Did you notice any problems with the trigger? Are you going to do a review of the new ics mp5 with the split gearbox design and 3 round burst?

  • I've shot this gun and it is amazing

  • This gun is goofy looking

  • i like yur accent

  • stop moving yer fooking elbow

  • how many times does one have to tilt and look down at their gun?

  • it looks epic

  • I honestly despise the ICS L85. Alot of the internals are proprietary and the gun is shitty when it comes to ergonomics. I'd rather have a bullpup like the F2000, Tar-21, or AUG

  • FOR THE LAST FREAKING TIME IT ISN'T A CARRY HANDLE

  • awesome reviews thanks Jai!

  • Excellent review as always :)

  • You had goggles next to you and yet you fired the gun without eye protection. I know the chances of anything happening or ricochetting were next to none but it sets a bad example. Your video's are getting better but I can't subscribe to a channel that does not show best safety practices.

  • Great series you got going on there! You just got yourself another subscriber. :) Are you planning on doing any M16's in the near future?

  • I played with a AUG for ages, but when it broke I wanted something really reliable and customisable the only real thing I could find to fit the spec was a G&P M4

  • great vid mate you just earned yourself a subscriber

  • id probably prefer a standard AR mag style. although i have never held a bulpup design. i guess i should try that first!

  • I love high quality bullpups like the Belgian FN P90, Chinese QBZ-95B, TAR 21, and Russian PP-19 Bizon (not a pup), not low quality like the British L85 or French Famas (or American AR15 types for that matter). :/

    You make Stupendous reviews! Bravo!

  • @SGThibakusha And what makes the L85 or the FAMAS "low quality"?

  • I love the fn2000 too bad it is too exspensive

  • Beautiful looking weapon. And a great choice to review. Don't Mind Those Dislikes They Are just those flyers on the target. Supporting EpicAirsoft Since 2011.

  • @EpicAirsoftHD Where did you record this too?

  • Standard ar's all the way!

  • The British actually designed the fire-selector to be difficult to use to encourage disciplined use of semi-automatic fire. The real one is very difficult to actuate on top of the awkward placement.

  • this gun looks really cool, but since i am left handed, i wish they made it more ambidextrous...goal in the near future for the British gun designers? :)

  • @GroundGravy It's made by the Germans now & there are no plans for an L85A3.

  • @Redheadfury Uhh, no... The L85 was made by a British Firearms company. There have been now new L85s built since 1994.

Heckler & Koch modified the original L85A1 into the L85A2, but they did not build any new ones.

Technically the L85s fitted with new rail systems and optics are L85A3s, although they're not officially designated that.

  • @MrRWJP They made new ones, hence why they have H&K stamped on them.

Fitting a new hand guard does NOT make it a new variant, it's not an L85A3, if it was the L85A3 it would be called the L85A3 and wouldn't have L85A2 stamped on the side now would it?

None of the rifles have L85A1 stamped on, or L85A3, because they're L85A2s. Perhaps you've never touched one? Go back to cadets mate.

  • @Redheadfury Just no, H&K did not build any new SA80 series rifles. Some of the rifles that H&K modified to A2 standard had H&K markings on them, usually a sticker just ahead of the butt plate, but by no means all.

And depending on how you look at it, a new handguard does make it a different version. Off the top of my head, the Galil AR and the Galil ARM are two separate versions of the Galil, because the ARM has a different handguard with an integrated bipod...

  • @MrRWJP Lol, stickers? Ever actually seen one up close? It's stamped on every single damn one "L85A2 5.56x45" on the magazine housing, STAMPED, not written on a sticker. It's just below the serial number...

And no, unscrewing 1 screw and putting a different piece of plastic on does not make it a new variant. Quit making yourself look dumb, and wind your neck in.

  • @Redheadfury Uhh, learn to read please... You said "that's why they have H&K stamped on them". I replied saying that they are usually marked with a H&K sticker. I never commented on where the version mark is stamped.

And as I said, in my original comment, it's a mere technicality. Some MOD sources have described the additional upgrades to the L85 as the L85A3, although it's never been officially designated that, and as you rightly said, they're all stamped L85A2.

  • @MrRWJP But they're NOT marked with a sticker you fool, it is stamped in the metalwork itself - the only stickers on them designate butt numbers. And no MOD sources have any said there's an L85A3 because it doesn't exist, and never will.

Learn not to talk out of your arse.

  • Saw one of these at the skirmish today. My biggest issues are: it being rear heavy, expense and the cost of replica optics that would suit. Otherwise I would get one.

  • Were I shooting a real rifle, I'd prefer a bullpup, but in terms of airsoft, I'd wouldn't. Simply because, in a rifle, the longer the barrel, the greater the accuracy, but in airsoft, barrel length doesn't greatly affect the accuracy or distance.

  • I like every thing of the video... except having music being played in the backround and mr. Fraser constantly looking down at the gun. :)

  • hi from scoutthedoggie

  • i personally love the l85 and all bullpup rifles

  • Could you get your hands on a KWA M4A1?

  • @EpicAirsoftHD You sound like you dont like the L85? :)

  • I love Bulpup rifles like l85 but my favourite it's one....The Fn2000 g&g <3

  • i like the bullpup design

  • please tell me were you got this gun !!

  • In real life lefties have to learn to be righties, in cadets we had a sgt come in and we had a leftie and he just yelled at him and told him to be right hander and be normal lol

  • Bullpup, just because it's diffrent from your everyday M4. :D

  • The magazines are akward to change in quick fast firing games. Also if you use hi caps the wheel is kinda hard to spin while firing. Other than that, these are nice guns.

  • i can see the new sig at 5:30 you´re gonna do a review of that gun? (sorry for my english)

  • @javier96s 552 AND 551 reviews will be up in the near future.

  • @EpicAirsoftHD Result was looking at the SIG series by ICS as a option come Feb/Marc,h fingers crossed I should be able to get the RIF of my own by then. ..Biggest problem is every time I have the list of weapons I see something else...

  • Love it :) <3

  • as a member of the cadet forces, i use the real version of this weapon all the time, i love its bullpup desighn and it feels right at home, also as i spend alot of time using it, i have found that using cirtain features that would be normaly be awkwerd (such as the change lever) become second nature to use btw i love this show :D

  • You represent airsoft so well! Thanks for all the airsoft support!

  • I'm a big fan of bullpup weapons, it just makes sense. Longer barrel, shorter gun. I like the way they look too, excluding L85's.. I think they're ugly lol, but I love T.A.R. 21's, A.U.G's, and type 97's.

  • Bullpup

  • for people that want to see it get shot 5:50

  • bullpup FTW ive been trained with a bullpup (L85/86). when we were in iraq we could hit targets out at 800m with an 86 and 600m with the 85

  • amazing review as always. great looking gun, that magazine looks beast

  • do a real sword type 97 after you finish the ICS guns, it seems like the next best bullpup aeg out there

  • SA80 anyday.

  • bullpup's my favourite. love the AUG... its just one gun for everything. no problems in cqb and no problems during long range assaults.

  • @Kasry123 And most importantly, the baddie in Die Hard used one.

  • @EpicAirsoftHD Speaking of bullpups, what do you prefer? bullpups or the more standard rifles(Aks, M4/M16s, Mp5s, Etc....).

  • @EpicAirsoftHD Hey man can you make some airsoft war videos to?
