The musicians played well. But it´s noticeable they didn´t really understand the spirit of Bartok´s music. Personally I prefer spirit to precision.

The international society for the new music in Basel, Switzerland commisioned this work to Bela Bartok and he composed it in 1937 in Budapest, being played the 1st time on january 16th, 1938, in this work Bartok exploits all the percusive capacity for the 2 pianos and he finds such effects as noelties as fascinating
