I believe her in her respect for EC. But this is just flat out wrong:

1: Her decision to phrase the song just like EC makes her sound like she's imitating EC. That dishonors both singers, and also the song.

2: The duet is unnecessary. It doesn't improve the song, which at its core is meditative and spiritual. I don't believe the song was meant to be interpreted this way.

Too much Katie considering the stunning performance of Eva. She should have let Eva's performance lead, especially to open, and at several other points along the way, then joined her in support. Katie's simply not a peer, on pitch stability alone. This could've worked, but Eva had to be the lead in this impossible duo, and Katie had to have done the excellent support singing she obviously can do against this standard.

@dragonmybutt I think the point of this show is to pay tribute to the artists that inspired them. Its pretty impossible to take credit for an arrangement that was done by someone whos no longer living. And if she wanted to ride coat tails of someone, it would be silly of her not to pick someone way more well known than Eva. Its a beautiful song. Enjoy it for what it is.

I have never heard this sung by the pair of these wonderful singers, it was so beautiful and at the end the presenter was correct not a dry eye in the house, it is not often music will move me but this , unbelievable, what a cruel world we live in when someone so talented as Eva get taken by cancer at such an early age, but thank you so much to Katie for being so humble and dueting with Eva. Katie you are a diamond, how awsome would the two of them be today.
