it's interesting to know about the apple logo. I remember someone making fun of me years ago because I bought an Ipod and stuck one of the apple stickers on the back of it. he said it was quite funny that I put an old symbol of homosexuality on my Ipod when in fact it has nothing to do with being gay. some also thought that this was why the original apple logo was rainbow coloured, another symbol of homosexuality so I'm told.
Why can't this show be on in the US? I don't understand why it would fail. I was going to cite the history channel as an example, but then I remembered SWAMP PEOPLE.
Holy crap... I am an american... and I am shocked that there is a gameshow that actually teaches you.. things... anything.... well if you don't count "are you smarter than a 5th grader" but I think that one just loves to point out just how stupid we are later in life... :-/
Stephen Fry always starts off by saying 'good evening' about ten times really fast. I suppose he might be trying to tell people to stop clapping for so long...
Has anybody noticed that whenever Steve says goodbye he says ''goodnight from person A, B, C, D and me...'' Surely he means to say ''and I''? Perhaps I am wrong, I don't wish to question the great Steven Fry but it has been bugging me for a while now.
@MrDanielHawes Think about it. You don't say 'and goodnight from I'. You say 'goodnight from me'. And so it only follows you'd say 'goodnight from person A, B, C, D and me'. So he's right. Although it's more common to have the 'me' and the beginning, and then in instances when you do use 'I' to have it at the end. Which is why it sounds funny. You're used to hearing 'I' at the end of sentences.
@SirToadofToadHall Are you using common sense to come up with that answer or is that a written rule in regards to the English language, because I don't think that common sense and the English language coincide all that often.
@MrDanielHawes Well, I thought it would be easier to do so than quoting the general rule. But since you want it, here it is. 'Me' is used when you use other objective pronouns that are not the subject of a verb, but a proposition. So in this case you would use 'me' and not 'I'.
@SirToadofToadHall Haha, I wasn't after the rule per say, just wondering if you were assuming it to be true or if you knew. Nice one though, thanks for the info!
@Ninterd2 I think you have to have the thought capacity of Steven Fry to understand it which I don't think I have. I am still not convinced that it is a fair system though.
I think the nations of the world should come together and ensure that all robots in the future have northern accents... It's just what I think. I may be wrong.
I loved the discussion of job-hunting, and the bullwhacky that goes into job interviews. And then Asimo came out and I literally squealed. Quite possibly my favorite QI, and that is saying something. Thanks for being awesome, Nick.
I think men are at a real advantage when it comes to making themselves look good. If they try something a little off the wall, a mate will usually tell them they look like a nobhead. Jo Brand, bless her, is wearing the same nobby glasses she had on last time. She still looks like a nobhead, and I'm afraid she'll never know!
HOLY SHIT I WAS SO MESSED UP BY THAT CLOCK QUESTION. I JUST COULDNT BELIEVE IT. I was sitting here with my own clock making it go around. I understood their mathematical explanation but my brain just refused to believe it, it was insanity.
It's 5.23am and I'm still cruising Nick's channel.... Haha that could mean I'm out night boating. Sleep deprivation is obviously driving me mad... I could've sworn Jo Brand was dancing with a robot. Bed time for me!
Jo's "fat" and "husband" jokes are so tired. Get over it and use your well developed humor on some new topics please! David Mitchell is perhaps the UK's funniest "Sarcastinator";-)
I went into a shop once and asked for a pair of bear/nose hair scissors. The assistant pointed me to an electronic shaving device. I said, "No, I really need a pair of scissors." She said, "Well, they've been upgraded to this," and pointed to the same device.
@stfunoob707 No dude...don't listen to the man do what you want too! haha seriously working sucks, go back to uni or something to pass the time, working for a living is generall boring and if like me you're sick as a dog right now but still have to work it's just horrible!
Mr. Stephen, you were supposed to cover the speaker with plastic wrap before pouring in the corn flour and water solution! You may have ruined the speakers!
11:55 Not quite correct about the cryptanalysis of the enigma. The Germans used a twice repeated 3 letter combination(for the 3rotors of enigma) in the beginning of each text to set the code for the rest of the text. So only 6 letters were encrypted in the daycode of that day. The rest of the textwasdone in new code so codebreakers wouldn't easily find out the daycodes. These 3 letters could sometimes be the initials of a girl etc... Normally they should've used different codes duringthe day.
I've just checked the list of broadcast episodes and apparently this is the last one for a few more days (not counting compilation shows). Alas! The next one has BRIAN BLESSED in it, though, so worth waiting for.*
*The list is on Wikipedia, though, so I could be misinformed.
I SO love this episode! Thank you, SO MUCH, NFFA, for reuploading this! I so love Alan: he is clearly the most intelligent person--but Jo is not far behind...the most intelligent 'bird', ever!

kind of interesting that the allies knew every single move the nazies made before they made the moves and yet the nazis almost won the war.
Looking at the way it's going right now, and knowing the REAL truth about nazi germany, I think we would be alot better off now had germany won.
And no I aint no nazi, I just know the TRUTH about what really happened.
