@diamondog99 Surf music has a long tradition of four or five man bands in goofy costumes. Lots of bands were doing this sort of classical guitar/rock fusion instrumental music. Not knocking on the musicians, who tended to have virtuoso talent, but each band started sounding like everyone else. Stage costumes were a good way to make a memorable impact on the audience and its sort of become an genre injoke for newer surf inspired garage bands to have their own costumes. e.g. The Mummies
