  • Holy shit. That sound you just heard was my life improving after seeing this.

  • @Hoaxandchains You're too blinded by your hatred of people that have different views to realize your conservative party is doing just as much to destroy America. Jan Brewer is fascist. Can you explain why she refused to let an innocent man, by the name of William Macumber, who was deemed innocent in a landslide vote from a clemency board? Sure conservatives want fiscal responsibility. I do, too. Unfortunately they'll shit on our civil liberties left and right. You sir, should be ashamed.

  • kinda funny because this was before Obama. Neil sings about Obama " he thinks that he's too young". His musicians don't even know who he is

  • see especially 2:37

  • pretty amazing; "who's Obama", someone says; "he's a real shining light" ... "his time may be sooner than he thinks", says Neil in 2006

  • THis video is focused on the future. We all have been sold a bill of goods that are rotten. Lets move forward. This song predicted Obama or Clinton in March, 2006. HERE WE ARE.. Look for Deja VU, a Sundance Documentary on the Freedom Of Speech Tour of 2006, still a vital piece adn NEEDED to refresh memories before we do vote NO to war and government corruption favoring the rich. WE CAN VOTE. WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD! ARE YOU FIRED UP!!??

  • well, those comments about shutup if u dont agree with us is the bushie/limbaugh view of 'democracy'--tap the phones and if u got nothing to hide then dont worry about it--they have pissed on the constitution and will be remembered for that.

neil's songs, by contrast, will be played for generations to come.

...maybe it's a woman, or a black man, after all...

  • I'm just a goofy white guy, but I believe Neil has a right to his opinion, and if you don't share it ... fine. That's cool. The 1st Amendment grants you/us/me/Neil that. But he doesn't need to go back to Canada. What I believe some people are SO afraid of with this song, is he might be right .... "maybe it's a woman, or a black man afterall...."

    Think about it.

  • that was 8 months ago. Obama has won many primaries, and HERE WE GO.. YES.. WE CAN. Not just one race, not 3 races.. but, the United States of America can take back OUR country. Obama has no lobbyists to answer to. McCain has 7 close lobbyists as 'advisers' to his campaign. McC has had over 160 lobbyists working FOR his campaign. His pockets have been filled. Is this the White House we want? Obama is not BEHOLDEN to lobbyist/corporate sponsorship. His background is FOR THE PEOPLE, not the rich!

  • why should he be stripped of his citizenship? (is he even a citizen, i'm not sure) regardless, using the first amendment which since your dumb ass apparently doesn't know gives him freedom of speech is the most patriotic thing he can do. if nobody questioned authority we'd still be british.

  • Hey Goofy, first of all he has dual citizenship America/Canada, that's importaint to know. He was GRANTED a citizenship by the United States. First he say's "I feel myself drifting back to Canada more and more." Hey if thats the way you feel after all we have done for him (his youngest son is very ill, but here in the states he has recieved the best health care), and if he hates America that much then why not hit the road and go. Secondly, Johnny come lately,I wrote this comment 6 months ago.

  • budy, i don't think he hates america. (the final track on this album is a little song called "America the Beautiful"). look, clearly we don;t have a lot in common but the best part of this country is the fact that we're allowed to say things like "fuck bush!" its what makes america america. if you don't like freedom of speech, you don't like america. you can disagree with the song, but he's got every right to sing it.

  • The problem with Neil is this, in the 80's he voted for Reagan twice. (Album Hawks & Doves, he was a registered republican)Why, because Reagan was popular. When it was popular to down Nixon he did. America is angry about 9/11 he writes "Let's Roll". Then people are unhappy about Iraq and he put out LWW. Dem, Rep, or Commie, it donsen't bother me, but I think he has "Sold Out". You are right though, freedom of speech is a right, not a privelage. Have a good day.

  • its a touchy issue, i guess you could say he lets popularity dictate his feelings, but personally i think that he actually feels the way he says he done. maybe i'm wrong and i probably am, but i don't think he sold out. but hey you're entitiled to your own opinion.

  • great!!

  • Hell yeah, Barack Obama for president in '08
