well this is ridiculous. it's cruel letting it drink so much. I have a frenchie and they are greedy, and dont know when to stop so you have to limit them. giving it that massive bowl with so much water is just stupid. the poor thing could barely walk when it finished. you dont deserve a dog!

Our boston terrier pups did the exact same thing, it's not diabetes or anything that is unhealthy, it's them being young and not knowing how much to drink, our pups would drink like this and get huge bellies, and sometimes even throw up after.

It's normal, and cute watching them waddle around with their big bellies afterwards.

When my white Chihuahua was 7 weeks, she bonded with a stray kitten I rescued and they became partners in crime. One night my roommate stepped out to get some milk and returned to see the kitten had climbed onto the tv tray and pushed over his Chinese lemon chicken, which the two devoured. The kitten made a hasty retreat, but the little Chihuahua, round as a softball, waddled as far as the carpeted stairs and got stuck trying to climb down because her belly was so full.

I'm on boards with many folks that raise frenchies, and they are different than other breeds. I am only commenting on the Frenchie part of it. It's for health as well as socialzation. Perhaps you would like to check on it yourself. I was trying to say it without provoking anyone.

I looked it up in a husbandry and breeding text, nothing. This sounds like breeder myth to me. What's a mother dog going to do for a 10 or 11 week old puppy's health, take to the vets for vaccinations??

Frenchie babies aren't supposed to be away from the mother till about 12 weeks. He does seem to be in distress. The whites of the eyes showing so much may be a sign. Hope all is well.

I had that same thing happen on one of mine, i took my dog to the vet because someone had posted that my dogs anal glands needed to be excreted, the vet did it, but said it wasn't bad and not a problem. I think some people just try to be know it alls and freak out a little on here.......lol.
