i love skyrim but the combat is so poor compared to this game. even the telekinesis spell in DM works 10x better than the one in skyrim, and you can see your own feets :)

I love open worlds games and i think Skyrim will be really good if they can simulate the same combat mechanic that Dark Messiah but with an open world full of quest and freedom like Oblivion. This game is like what Oblivion should have been. Great combat, story, graphics, physics. The only exception of course is that it needs free-roam instead of the linear story, but even then there were multiple endings and choices throughout the game. I never understood why so many people badmouthed Dark Messiah, though perhaps the console version isn't nearly as good (as I have heard). But then, when is it ever?

I'm going through it again using daggars only and trying to use mostly theif type skills, an hooooley crap, ghouls are seriously hard to fight using daggars. well, multiple ones anyways. 1v1, daggars seem to be very effective. I'm not giving up though :P
For those hoping for an Elder Scrolls + Dark Messiah style of game, apparently Zenimax Media (home of Bethesda) has acquired Arkane Studios recently, so who knows...maybe we might see Bethesda and Arkane join forces to create a game like that, now that they are on the same team. ;-)
@T1mmy32 You can get it legit for PC on Steam. It might even be on sale soon, they're doing a thing where each day, they put a certain number of different games on sale. I got Alpha Protocol yesterday for 7 bucks, lol. I don't know about consoles, you can probably find it in some game store for those.
@Asskickerr1 oblivion's combat definitely doesn't even come close to being as good as Dark Messiah. If you disagree, I'd like to know why. The open world is nice though, but I liked Morrowind's world better.

The main difference between this and oblivion is... In this game you're some sort of super human who is totally different from any other NPC. Where in Oblivion you were just like everyone else basically.

the best you can do in dark messiah is get poison resistance early on, then you won't have such a hard time finding antidotes all the time during that worthless nightmare of a level.

The only "gameplay" aspect which Dark Messiah has over Oblivion is combat... Other then that, it's AI is very basic, it's plot is a typical "Big Bad creates ultimate weapon" whereas oblivion's storyline consists of cults, ancient lore, and some pretty extensive backstory with tons of underlying sub plots. And YES, it DOES have an effect on performance as having an entire world before you all interacting consumes ALOT of memory (ram, for laments terms since i know your a complete dumbass)

i can only do it when the enemy is trying to escape, or when i am in perfect (cant remember what the name is) mode, you know where you decap arms and legs :) so please tell me

@NekGuitar upghostet. actually i don't like the spider part of ANY game. lord of the rings 3, castlevania, and many more - fuck spiders.
the best you can do in dark messiah is get poison resistance early on, then you won't have such a hard time finding antidotes all the time during that worthless nightmare of a level.

ah, if the characters weren't so feline like i'd actually want to play this game, but i just don't feel right attacting kittymen. lol. just like Khajit in Oblivion, yet i love oblivion, so i just tend to stay away from the highwaymen and small quests that involve killing the khajit.

Sure you have, he just uses some adrenalin-versions of regular spells to shrink enemies or throw them around ... that's all.
And it's on the PC, there is a 360 port called Dark Messiah Elements.

It looks Pretty fun to play but its not all about combat , ide buy it but i need to know, their are proffesions you can do right? alchmy , blacksmithing , cooking Etc. and if their are other wepeons or armour in the world you can pick up, cause this trailer didnt show much of the world , rather just the combat

It is Adrenaline spells maybe. Weaken+Adrenaline=Shrink. Telekinesis+Adrenaline=Lift heavy objects or living creatures

The only "gameplay" aspect which Dark Messiah has over Oblivion is combat... Other then that, it's AI is very basic, it's plot is a typical "Big Bad creates ultimate weapon" whereas oblivion's storyline consists of cults, ancient lore, and some pretty extensive backstory with tons of underlying sub plots. And YES, it DOES have an effect on performance as having an entire world before you all interacting consumes ALOT of memory (ram, for laments terms since i know your a complete dumbass)
