The comments here are funny. RCPM not political? Have you not listened to the lyrics in Goon Squad and Noisy Head? Those two songs are very political...apparently that flew over your heads. There's also some political references in this song. Roger is crafty! Ron Paul 2012!!!
Ron Paul and RCPM??!!!! Do you even listen to the music? This is like when Reagan tried to use Springsteen to promote his brand of slash and burn politics. Ron Paul is another teabagger nutcase with no solutions except "return to the gold standard"! Whatever! I find this amazingly offensive and while RCPM are not overtly political, I'm sure they will not be happy to be informed that their music is being used to promote ANY candidate unless they themselves choose to do so. Simply put, this sucks!
@rcpmfanmatt First off, you know nothing about Ron Paul. He has wanted to end all these wars since before their inception by voting against them and continuing to do so. Secondly, the "ninnying" in comments like yours has been successful. SONY has now baned this video in Germany. ...And while I do not know weather or not RCPM is now signed, I'm pretty sure the song this album is on was on an INDEPENDENT label. Sony bans it anyway. "amazingly offensive" LOL I'm glad you feel this way.
@rcpmfanmatt - When Roger does mention politics, it's the imperial nature of US foreign policy, which also happens to be a major theme of Ron Paul's politics. Roger doesn't like the concentration of power in the hands of the few, another of Ron Paul main issues. Roger is about breaking down barriers, as is Ron Paul. He doesn't tow the party line, and regularly works across the aisle to forge new alliances. They have way more in common than your obviously limited knowledge of Ron Paul suggests.
By now, I can truly say, my favorite, favorite band! And the hits ust keep coming. Roger is one brilliant writer on a mission! Rock on, RCPM!!! And, Liberty to all....
Wonderful video, I hope it earns RCPM some extra money, and RP a few votes (like the poor dude could win). Has this band got SPIRIT, or what? Rock On Roger, Steve, PH, and Nick. And no, it's probably not the greatest idea to put the two together without getting an ok, but heck, youtube is full of vids using commercially released music. Just give full credit to the artists, I think. Go team.
RCPM (or Roger, for that matter) don't wear their politics on their sleeve. I can't imagine they'd endorse *anyone*, much less be associated with anyone.
My opinion? Using live clips of "Hello New Day" while promoting R.P. is not in good form.
Do listen and watch but go out and vote as well! And while you are at it invite some of your freinds and relatives and offer them pizza or something. For all you know, that $20 pizza might be the greatest investment all you need to save your country going bankrupt and saving your freedom and future!
In NH and other states, you can register to vote at the gate itself!

Ron Paul rocks! Roger Clyne used to be pretty good before he started writing crappy songs. I think he hit bottom with Leaky Little Boat.

I don't know if RCPM support Ron Paul (whoever he is). Maybe you should check before doing this?
