From what I have found online, only tracks 6-19 are +10db sweeps..
The gain is set for musical applications. I can give 2 shits less what it does for a burp on the meter, all my setups have always been lower end musical monsters.
@audiofanaticz Point I was trying to make is if you used a -10db tone to set gains, anything louder is clipping/distortion. So -5db would clip, 0db would clip. +10db would be 20db past clipping. Thus your clamped power is mostly clipped power. Clamp the amps with a -10db tone to get real clean power. I bet you will have more like 5000-7000w rms
@TheOfficialDecaf - Triple, Octave Sweeps - Tracks 16 through 19 consist of 1 octave sweeps recorded at 10 db level. The sweeps will be repeated 3 times per track beginning at track times at 5, 15 and 25 seconds. Each sweep is 5 seconds in duration.
- Tracks 81 through 97: each contain three 2 seconds tone bursts starting at 5 (sine), 15 (50% clipped), and 25 (square) seconds
Yes.. As I already replied to another person.. I thought I seen 556, not 566. Which just means my amps are drawing more current is all.
Either way It does not change the power the amps are making. Its just showing how much current these amps are sucking being strapped at .7ohms (.35ohms per amp). and why I have such a bad voltage drop into the 11s with only 645amps worth of alt power and 2 XS Power D3100s.
If I still had a working scope then I would use that to ensure clean power being giving, But I no longer due, and the DD-1 was cheaper then buying another reliable scope, and try something new..
Is the dd-1 needed to clamp power? No its not, but this way I can show I had a clean signal, and show my clamped power was made cleanly which is something a lot of people do not show on clamp tests
glad you explained well how to figure out the numbers and how to use clamp, meter, n dd-1. Now for the 4500s why did they make double ground and power? My cousin has PA BAMF 5500 and it too has double for both....I know PA is nowhere near Sundown but would you recommend using both, my cousin only running single ground and power?
Some people are funny, 11's are fine and it's amazing they can't figure that out when you have been running these 45's like that for over a year. When you get down in the 10's then you need to worry, that is unless you have POS amps. Derrick was running like .25 at 9v on his rofl, if I did that my shit would catch fire ;)
No, in one of my previous videos it is clip free at max volumes when set to flat. I have not only tested mine, but my buddy with the same unit. With the eq settings all at 0, they are clip free.
@audiofanaticz cool, thanks. good to know. deck does sound pretty good. i have ll my setting at 0 also. i jus didnt trust that dd1. are you running any eq or processor? will that affect the clip from the deck also? or would you have to test all those after 1 at a time?
I am using a alpine ere-g180 11band eq. It is also clip free at max volume. Went thru my entire truck with the dd-1 (head unit, eq, 4channels, monobolocks). one of my last few videos on my channel.
common knowledge that when amps are under load and voltage drops, that your clip level changes. leave the DD-1 hooked up with the amps under load. you'd prolly be surprised.
very nice numbers btw. bout time someone threw the power to one of these subs they're supposed to get.
Before you continue to hate on the dd-1, take your o-scope and do it under load, and watch it clip just as bad..
I can guarantee my setup has less clipping even with my voltage drop then most users out there that have bassboost all the way up, and the gain almost maxed out.
@audiofanaticz Before you get so defensive about something i didn't even say. take the corn cob out your ass and read what i said. at no point did i say anything in my comment about an oscope, and no where did i diss the product. I only pointed out a flaw in the methodology.
Wheres the vids man, u ok?

even though you dont have all the electrical needed you are putting up some serious ass numbers. that 18 can take some power!

So you set your gain with a -10db sine wave, then burped it with a 0db sine wave?

Electrical is doing very well for what you have and the draw being applied .

thanks, and it is IMO. Id hate to see the power these amps can make on a serious battery bank, or even on a 16volt bank like yours!
Hands down these sundown 4500s blow everything else I ever owned outta the water (spl dynamics, orion, american bass vfls).

Yes you use both power and ground .The load needs to be even across the power supplies
