That bass sounds like it weighs a ton.......THE SOUND IS SOOOOOOO PHAT!!!! Can you please tell me the specifications of your bass!!! The year, neck, fingerboard, body, pickups, preamp (if any), amp, and cabs used in this video. I love the old vintage sound and these modern 5-6 string bass don't cut it for me. He mutes perfectly, that's why the sharp tone is so prominent. Noise just happens when you play, I don't care how much skill the bassist has. It's a matter of developing the timing and instinct of knowing when our palm needs to cover the open stings. Still a difficult thing for me, even single-thumbing. Double-thumb, forget it!

That's what a good jazz bass sounds like. That's not a fender though, but modeled after a 70's fender. Anyhow, for a good J, you usually need to fork up something like a few grand.. Look for vintage or 75 reissue fender, sadowsky, nino valenti and so on..
