there are a couple that run on my computer just fine. i have a q6600 at 3.6 ghz, and sli gtx 280. works fine, at 720p. the PS3 has a nvidia 7800 EQUIVALENT, and 512 MB of video ram.

Guys ps3 emulator will take many years to be ready. Not just because the huge amount of work decryting its processor and the way the ps3 works but ALSO the incredible amount of GPU and CPU power needed to emulate. Just to remind you guys that you need a machine many times more powerful than the console you're trying to emulate. They barely madea ps2 emulator, and it needs fucking high end pcs. There wont be any ps3 emu for long

a good emulator software does not have any issues of slow down. I have the pcsx build R3119 it runs ps2 games smooth as the console itself ps3 is not any different it just needs a properly designed software that uses the given harware properly. In doing so even a core 2 duo is enough. Remember ps3 uses 7 threads including one for graphics. Current PC have 8 to 12 threads not including the graphic card's own thread.

@prisonbreak7760 - The GPU is yet to be tapped. When it is, the emulator will blaze. No complex pc game runs on just the CPU, so it's a miracle that the ps3 emulator even runs on that alone. Pretty good when emulating the console to play a game on just the CPU.

@prisonbreak7760 - I don't think the cell processor has to be emulated, per se, for the game to be work. I may be wrong though. And factors other than CPU and/or GHz greatly contribute to performance, leaving plenty of room for possibility of fast emulation.

Nice try mate, I used to play PS2 on one of those - TVcard trick.

If you guys are still looking for a PS3 emulator, just STOP and come back in 10 years time.

In order to emulate 33 MHz console you need 330 MHz computer. It is all due to the fact that PC has to translate from console language into PC language and backwards. In case with PS3 it is a completely different issue. PS3 has 6 vector processors (+1 for security and 1 as a backup) which can do only certain things but do it very well.
