I don't know if this is going to make any sense - but I like Gus' use of "intervals" (?) Most of the stuff he does in this video is sort of typical of what guitarists might do to spurt off and show off some speed, but there are moments when his personality and unique style show. I don't know anything much about Firewind, but in the Ozzy album, you can hear it clearly. I like Gus. I am looking forward to see when and if he and Ozzy write together from scratch.

TRUST me, this guy is very original. Listen to the Firewind song 'The Fire and The Fury' and you can hear the versatility and depth of his playing - honestly the way he uses melody in his solos is fucking awesome... very original too, and theres a lot of feeling behind his playing. Check that track out and you'll see what i mean.

The thing about this is... I think Gus G is an AMAZING player. I don't exactly see how any of his playing has any reference to World of Warcraft, other then he appeared at blizzcon. What I do know is that OZZY would know if this was the right guitar player for HIS BAND. Period. he has nothing in common with jake e. lee. van halen, warren dimartini, and jake e. lee defined a specific moment in los angeles metal in the early 80's. this kid is 30 years younger than eddie van halen, he comes from greece. he doesn't sound like these guys at all. this is a joke, and ozzy and sharon just trying to cash in on a younger crowd. ozzy is turning his back on the fans that made him a legend. i've seen this gus guy play with ozzy: he can't clean zakk's, jake's or randy's shoes.

And how is it any different than when Zakk started with Ozzy, he was also an unproven junior bozo, as you put it. It's just to the point now where everything Zakk does sounds the same and Ozzy's music just sounds like Black Label Society. It'll be a good change. I honesty never liked the Zakk era, pentatonics get boring, throw me some Rhoads. He is gold. Change is good.
