this is definately my favorite "SX" bass guitar with the precision/jazz pickups configuration, white vintage paint color body & of course the original vintage head stock..which i have no clue why Rondo Music changed it to the Ursa style. the old SX headstock had class on this bass that "andrewcp" is presenting here, cheers! x0]
1:18- " i dont know how tight this connection is supposed to be here, but i have a really hard time getting my cable in and out of it" that what she said. wow this guy is picky as crap
I understand why a lot of people are annoyed at how picky this guy is about it (Yeah, it's a $100 bass) but it's also helpful for someone looking to buy an SX bass.
I bought an SX tele copy and didn't set my standards very high but when I got it I was blown away and loved it every since.
I'd warn people of when they're buying lower end guitars is buy one with a burst or transparent finish because they may claim it is a 2 or 3 piece body but it can acually be up to 5 pieces and painted over.
My Ray34 (EBMM Stingray Import) has small "holes/gaps" in between the neck and the body as well... so I think it may be common to non-1000-dollars basses.
U had to have a "pt.2" in connection to the last vid dats "INCREDIBILY AWESOME"! believe me Bro, i really enjoy watch'n dis vid over & over again! it brings a smile on my face, like if it was my 1st Bass too! =o)
I own this very same model. Setting it up neck wise is a must out of the box. The neck was bowed when I got mine used and I had to put it on a strobe for 2 weeks to get it right. I ripped out the stock pick-ups and installed some EMG PJ replacements (big improvement). Also added a Gotoh bridge for more sustain (cheaper than Leo Quan's Badass bridges).
Thanks for the video. I just received my first SX also -- a Lake Placid Blue Fretless 5 string, which seems to have more flaws than yours. However, for the money you can't beat these basses!
That's very informative... I'm considering buying one of these. Now that you've gotten comfortable playing it, do you feel that this bass has a good sound to it? Is it pretty sturdy...? I'm most concerned about the sound of the guitar, of course. ^^;; Thanks in advance, Andrew.
I was being hypercritical on purpose. First bass or not, I'm not the only on who watches my videos. People can be less or more picky. I have no problems with the minor blemishes. I'm just presenting the facts.
i finally received my SX Bass same as urs about a month 1/2 ago & its so cool man...i finally "Relic" it..& to me i have created a "Master Piece" cant believe "andrewcp" im astonish..the wood behind the paint is "Beautiful" man, nice medium brown color. i took a drastic chance in doin dis, add'n a few stickers..i made it into a "Punk Bass" dude! im very happy 'Bro' & i dont even hav2 change da p/u's jus as iz right outta da box! =o]

@nikklazz Nope. I'm not a Bass player. I do not have a bass amp. I just bought it for recording purposes.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
you actually don't know anything about basses

I'm pretty sure I established that at the start of this video.

yes, the thinner part on the tuning peg is normal, you´ll find it with all strings that come with this woundation

cool walkthrough, but you are being way to critical for a guy whos never even owned a bass before.
