Best morning "wake the hell up" song in the history of music. My day gets off on the wrong foot if the battery on my ipod is dead and I can't listen to this on the way to work.
They were turning themselves into U2 and Big Country at this point ... no wonder they wanted Steve Lillywhite to produce ... I much prefer "Empires and Dance".
@hiddenfire65 They were experimenting, can't hold that against them. Who were they copying on Once Upon a Time, Street Fighting years, Real Life, and Good News from the Next World? I thought they sounded great in every phase
@Axxisss Trust me dude, the drummer is frigging awesome!!! Jamacian/Brazial parentage says it all realy, he's outshone most "Metal" drummers, and he's even palyed for Goldie on his first album. The world's best drummer!! G.
El tema mas duro de los Simple Minds,,,una pasada. No se si lo llegaron a tocar en directo, no localizo ningún video del tema en directo. Muy buen tema.
The bass at the start of this song is exactly why Simple Minds died after Derek left. Sure it's pure Steve Lillywhite but by god it's top stuff, power and poise.
Celtic f***king rock!! Is there any thing better? Not if your a Celt there's not!!!! Biggest empire the world has ever seen, all based on learning, understanding and a passion kicking anybody's ass that try's meddling with it!! Taffyspark.
@faddy24 Ha, ha!!!! Best live band I've ever seen mate. Saw them in Cardiff Arms Park in 1989, they blew the roof off the place fair play!!!!! F***ing awesome band along with a few others like U2, The Silencers, to name but a few. As for the empire, that's a fact that has yet to be beaten!! They had an empire covered all of Europe, North Africa, North America, Eastern Europe and all the way to f***ing Asia would you believe!!! Taffyspark.
Kick away!!!

I love this song, but there's just one problem with it. It's...too short.

Un morceau assez méconnu avec une pêche immense comme CA ........
I saw them on avignon in 1984 - I still remember - Maybe this summer again à SIX FOURS - 26 years after ....

Great memories of my first years in college in the late 80s. They played this a lot on the college radio station. Thanx for memories!
