  • LOL

  • Mr Hobiecat, this accident occurred in the City of Detroit, which has a full-time, paid, career fire department... not volunteers.

  • its not the trucks folt is the train for not stoping

  • Was there a firefighter in the back driver place

  • Seems like something you'd see on an episode of Cops.

  • Signals activated TWENTY FIVE seconds before train arrival.

Not enough time to get out of foul?

Who is were the idiot driver and officer?

  • I love how quickly the cop got the hell out of there.

  • dumb asses

  • Where as HERE IN ENGLAND we have THINGS to STOP THINGS like THIS from happening. Ima troll

  • @Frithy2010 And yet idiots find ways to dodge the barriers.

  • "High rate of speed." Yeah, for Amtrak that's quite fast. Looks like 25 mph

  • Yes,it's a excellent idea to park a fire truck on a active railroad. Especially without warning the railroad company that you did that!!! (Note the Sarcasm)

  • The train driver must have thought 'Err ... ERRR ... Should I slow down now?'

  • Good bye ladder tuck & driver that is now out of a job.

  • At least the firecrew where quickly on the scene...

  • maybe the firetruck can't stop the train, but it sure as hell could have pushed some vehicles out of the way

  • the cop car is like "fuck that shit i'm outta here" vrooooooooooom

  • Only in America weird weird people.

  • Volunteer fireman think they are the top of the pecking order

    HAHAHAHAHHHAAHAAAAAA!

  • also, is a high rate of speed about 20mph?

  • @MrNotch9 if a train hits you at 20mph you die .. so its a high rated speed yes !

  • @franckaera51 when you're talking about a train designed to go 100+ mph, it isn't so no.

  • it's not unusual for trains to have cameras in it. in fact, it's illegal for them to not to

  • What the firetruck?!?!?

  • It takes a special level of stupidity to park a vehicle on railroad tracks.

  • That is one mucked up ladder truck

  • Passenger trains can take up to 1-2 miles to come to a complete stop from 80-100 mph, def not the conductor's fault.

  • Comment removed

  • while i do think that only a dumbass would park on the tracks in the first place and there's no way a train can stop that quick, here's my question. why the hell is a ladder unit responding to an accident anyway? we have rescue trucks and ambulances for that sort of thing

  • Yea, there is no logical reason to park any type of vehicle on tracks. It's the driver of the fire trucks fault, not the train.

  • Wow! How unfortunate!

  • dumb americans. dont you now a train cant stop that fast

  • What a silly train driver, seriously..

  • @superdylan3000 Why is he silly????

Engineers don't get paid to hit vehicles at rail crossings.

He hit the truck because he couldn't stop in time.

  • @superdylan3000 are you fucken retarded?? amtrack trains do like 80 clicks or more, they cant stop on a dime like a small car or something, go get your brain scanned or something

  • *amtrak

  • how stupid to park your truck right in the middle of an active rail road...

  • @zneralk07 Alot of firefighters are idiots. Not all of them.....but alot.

  • @zneralk07 How Stupid to drive your train through and active parking lot 0.o?

  • lol opps

  • hey a job opening!

  • i guess the police interceptors were in the way of the fire truck, and it didnt have enough room to move.....-.-

  • I was watching pluto chase a kid around...

  • Torpedoes are not used any more. The dispatcher has to be notified. We had a fire near the right of way and the fire department had to have their hoses across the track. The dispatcher called us and stopped us.

  • I can't believe the train driver didn't swerve - he had ages. Those cops should have shot at his wheels.

  • @Long23 hahaah. Pretty funny. But then again, a train cant swerve. Shoot his wheels rofl

  • Fire trucks drivers ar Americans in the USA ?

  • With only seconds to spare my ass, that police car had nearly half a minute to back away.

  • lets park here its not like there is a used train track there

  • @WRFD46firefighter Usually you don't think about that when there's a semi truck vs. car accident not many people live threw those. Don't want to waste time parking the truck somewhere else which would be inefficient because the truck carries stuff hey need like Jaw of life or a EMT bag. In addition its really hard to miss a firetruck why didn't the train stop way before then it was still going about 20-30 MPH when it hit.

  • @Brandan09997 its the officer in command fault. he should call in and have them shut down the tracks

  • @WRFD46firefighter Its many peoples fault.

  • @WRFD46firefighter No he does not need to when the accident is on the cross road next to the track.. The Officer in Command should have made sure his crew was safe by not parking in the middle of a track when they dont need to be there.

  • @BoTMSapper that why my fire dept has a safety officer

  • @Brandan09997 I guess Detroit Fire Department has never seen what can happen when a train strikes a truck. They were just lucky that they didn't end up having to deal with an even bigger situation than what they already had. Common sense would have said that you closed the railroad as well as parking the rig on the other side of the damn street.

  • @WestVirginia1 So . . ., a train takes precedence over a firetruck.

  • @MisterNifty No...

What I am saying is that the fire scene commander forgot to contact their dispatcher to have them notify the railroad dispatcher that they have the tracks blocked with a rig and that the train traffic needs to be stopped.

  • @WestVirginia1 Look at the video again. The Firetruck was in the process of moving. Whoever parked that truck there had to have seen that train coming a lot further down the track. So, I'd say it was going much faster!

  • @Brandan09997 If I were the railroad cop investingating this, I would have revoked the truck company operators CDL on the spot. I would have alos had a little chat with the scene commander as well and the department's safety chief or officer as well afterwards. Not only were they putting the lives of the ones at the wreck scene in jeopardy. They were also putting every single person's life that was riding the train at stake as well.

  • @Brandan09997 The truck could have pulled forward or back a few dozen feet and they would have been in the clear and equipment still available.

Under most conditions given enough tonnage and/or speed, by the time the engineer realizes the track is obstructed there is no way they are going to be able to stop. And if they put the train in emergency everytime a vehicle was on the track 1/2 mile in front of them they would never make it over the road.

  • good ol' detroiters

  • fire fuck

  • STUPID MADE OF CRAP FIRETRUCK DRIVER!!!

  • "High rate of speed"?

English motherfucker do you speak it?

  • its clearly was a train on fire flying out of control down the hill destroying firetrucks everwhere!!... full story at 6PM stay tuned after the break! ..hahaha

  • Lesson learned? The same lesson that applies anywhere, to anyone: STAY CLEAR OF THE FUCKING TRACKS!!!!!!!!

  • most saying this is not a high rate speed look at the cops on the left , this video is in slow motion

  • Why did these idiots park on the tracks?

  • 25 SECONDS SIGNAL ACTIVATION before train arrival.

    Not enough time?

    What IDIOTS.

  • Possible only in USA....

  • Possible only in USA....

  • o ya... i can see the high speed crash. i thought it was even tunnel vision. and with only seconds to spare, that cop was almost hit too. good thing he didnt waist too much gas not putting it to the rug. :/

  • wow. that train was fast

  • OMG THE POLICE OFFICER PULLED AWAY WITH ONLY SECONDS TO SPARE!!!!!

  • Dumbest comment? Do you know anything about railroads? Work crews on rail lines often carry with them a steel or aluminium shunting bar to do just that. You can'y rely on radios to have rail traffic stopped, only a signal change would stop the train in time. The fire dept here in my county does this when there is equipment within 5 feet of tracks for safety.

    - A

  • @ibook133 You don't let your equipment be in foul of an active track.

I carry battery cables to use as a shunt. That would be.tter than a bar.

But you don't wanto drop a RED in front of an approaching train.

They call dispatch first, then apply the shunt for added security?

    What about torpedoes? Used anymore?

  • prijebaná Amerika !

  • O Governo da outro.

  • Please tell me this was a southern state? It would not surprise me if it was, lmao

  • @nitruswolf ok... it was in Detroit.. yeah, not much brain power in Michigan either..

  • @nitruswolf Detroit

  • Every fire dept should have track shunting equipment, which changes the signal to show an occupied track, and any nearby trains would get a yellow or red signal way before the grade crossing. - A

  • @ibook133 Thats the dumbest damn comment I have ever read on YouTube.

  • STILL..did this firetruck driver know, even it's on a mission, that railways ALWAYS OPEN! coz' of this.. couldn't the driver just drive next to the " target" off the rails when arriving to the "target"..

  • You know sometimes i think common sence has back up moved to another counrty. There is railroad crossing csx here in monroe n.c.Thats real closse to a interscetion. You wouldn't belive how many closse calls i have seen. The railroad has put up signs that sayDO NOT STOP ON TRACKS!! Its a darn shame.

  • Amtrak is now suing Detroit regarding this.

  • job opening!

  • Idiot firetruck engineer and officer for allowing him/her to park there.

Could have parked elsewhere out of foul of the tracks.

    Any news report abouthis?

  • @robertgift I agree and it's them who arethe first to critque when ppl over there or who lives in train areas park bad....No excuse....i guaranttee the Train Engineer gave PLENTY warning.......!!

  • @miraget3549 The grade crossing signals activated 25 SECONDS before train arrival.

Even if no one saw the train approaching, (maybe around a curve) they had plenty of time to move the truck just from the crossing signal warnings.

  • The railroad can only stop their traffic IF the emergency crews on scene have dispatch call the railroad and advise them there is an accident in certain area, and request the tracks be shut down. Until the orders are given, and confirmed by railroad dispatch, DON'T park on tracks.

  • train was in the wrong emergency vehicle has right of way he should have pulled over for the firemen lol

  • @amcabbott He didn't even attempt to swerve!

  • For people who help protect us from harm.. you think they would know better than to stop on the tracks.

  • The railroad is a limited access thoroughfare and there are clear indications that a railroad track is nearby; the towers with the lights, the gates, and the ribbons of steel crossing the lane of traffic all have to be indicators. Why should rail transportation be hindered when it would be much easier (and much less costly) to not park your fire truck or cruiser on the tracks?

  • Hmm maybe the railline track should have been switched to redlight so no trains endanger emergency personnel allready working at the previous accident.

  • @DeeZanic You are an idiot the railroad is not going to give any train crew a red signal just because a couple of waste of space idiots think they can park on railroad tracks just to work an accident, there are plenty of other places to park. TRAINS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY ALWAYS, NEVER PARK, PLAY, WALK, ETC. ON TRAIN TRACKS. How many times do people have to be told this. It is not the railroads fault, it is clearly the firemans and cops fault for parking on train tracks. ANYTIME IS TRAIN TIME.

  • @1fordman2011 Not in an case of emergency. Regardless where the emergency happens all traffic must be stopped immidiately, whether it is an airport, a road or railcrossing to ensure the safety of the working personnel and technicians. I am sure the firetruckdriver though the track and road nearby was shut down so they can begin work.

  • Your Fired! Or should be atleast. Missing was the Brains of the driver.

  • Apparently there is not an IQ test required to enter law enforcement, EMS, or fire/rescue in Detroit. Think about this incident next time you get a lecture after a traffic stop for speeding....

  • High rate of speed my ass, it looks like it was slowing down still after being put into emergency....stupid media over exaduration.

  • @canadianfreerider Watch the video again. The footage has clearly been slowed down - the police car and firetruck move unusually slowly, the flashing lights on the firetrucks are slow. It's probably being played at half speed by the look of it.

  • @canadianfreerider video was in slow motion

  • @happilytaken206 no it wasnt

  • @canadianfreerider

    exaggeration*

  • @canadianfreerider Way to sound it out there, Sheikspeer. LOL..

  • @canadianfreerider i love the way you spell exaggeration

  • Interesting. There's two police officers on the right hand side, one is waving his hands to the train conductor, as if he thinks the train conductor hasn't noticed there's a huge red fire truck on the tracks in front of him.

  • @tannalv

I think he is waving his hands to the officer in the patrol car to get out of the way.

  • @tannalv Thats what that badge and gun does to their ego they think they can stop trains just by waving like a dipshit.

  • lol

  • Better call for backup!

  • I bet the truckdriver was chit-chatting in a stupid cellphone.

  • what that engineer of the aireal firetruck did was totally wrong, to park on a train track, what a waste of a $300-400,000 truck.

  • no lucky

  • great job people

  • Just goes to show the tests they give dont do to much when you get bone heads like that.

  • i dont care how big your truck is, the trains bigger, and the engineer wont see you even if its night adn you have every LED in the world on your truck.

  • 0:03 Nice move, officer.

  • '
