Generally, a genius in my view is a person who did or created something that wasn't done before with the result either evoking emotion, improves a process, changes a perception or solves a problem. The greatest problem in measuring a "genius" what ever he or she did at the time may have been iconoclastic but over time have become the norm. I agree with your comment. Beethoven was absolutely a music genius. I love playing his compositions over and above any other composer. You can FEEL the music. Close your eyes and it's like a story. Those who say no to his music aren't into classical music and def. NOT into piano. Period. PEACE.
