@nine00- I didnt say the 90's were backwards. I said that they (meaning Emily's time) didnt have the type of paperwork we have now. They probably went off word of mouth with no documentation. Documenting as much as they do now hasnt always been around. Nurses have to cover their butt more now then in the 70's. People werent so quick to sue. But thats a whole other story. I feel the nurses pain. Im a nurse, and mistakes like that can cost your whole career to go down the drain. smh

LOL, the nurse was charged with murder even though they would have done an autopsy and seen that it was penicilin in her system, not poison. If this for some reason didn't happen, during the nurse's trial she would have stated that she gave the girl penicilin, and her family (who would be at the trial) would have said that emily was allergic to penicilin. God I love this show!

@cambow13 I think the death took place around the 50s. They didn't have the science back then to be able to discern what killed Emily, other than that it was a "poison" to her body. Even if there WAS a trial, and the nurse found out about the penicillin, she could've denied it and they still could've charged her with murder. The ghost of the nurse still didn't know about the penicillin, seeing as she "denied it to her death" and yet the ghost was still young and in her nurse's outfit.

antibiotics are used to help prevent infection. If she had a broken leg, she could easily catch an infection if not cared for properly. Its just a precaution. The nurse should have known that Emily was allergic because it should be in her medical records... but of course, back in the 90's, they may have not had the paper work they have today.

This is why I like AYAOTD. It has themes and messages about life, not like the sugarcoated shows of today. And it's not as predictable as Goosebumps (I still like Goosebumps too).

That nurse is a psychopath. I wouldn't trust her for a second even when she turned all nice and concerned in the end when AJ shows her the bracelet.

She tried to give Nicki the shot too, and was dead set on giving it to AJ.

That's why I never get flu shots. I don't trust them. I rarely get sick anyway and I think it's better to let our immune system build up a resistance on its own. And antibacterial soaps kill more than just harmful germs. They also kill beneficial ones that fight the other kind. Then you get sick from the ones that are too strong for the soap to be effective.
