I also collect Pinky Violence movies and music featuring Reiko Ike, Miki Sugimoto, Junko Miyazono, Reiko Oshida. I have Reiko Ike's cd. She was to have a role in a major film a couple of years ago (I forgot the name of it) but for some reason it didn't work out. She is still strong. Her Sasori series, Wandering Ginza Butterfly series and Lady Snowblood series are some of my favorites. The Stray Cat Rock series, Blind Woman's Curse, Jeans Blues are good. I see you are from the Philippines. Cool. I have a couple of friends over there.

Meiko Kaji had a dark gothic expression to her art, way before it was popular. When you look into her eyes you look into your own mortality. Her singing will take you on a long journey into the netherworld. Kill Bill is a pale comparison to the depth of Meiko Kaji's heart. I wish there were more actresses like Meiko Kaji today.

Sadly or not, directors and other movie fans today are not interested in these type of actresses and stories anymore. They want more glamorous actresses or the teeny bopper ones which they can produce with bigger profit.

I never heard Reiko Ike's CD from the Pinky Violence Collecton box set. Do you have it? How is it? Is it worth owning? Even though it's really trendy and there is no nudity I do like Kamikaze Girls, also the Koreans put out a lot of grim but interesting cinema these days, but overall nothing can compare with the classic Pinky Violence cinema of the 70's and even classics of the 60's like Bohachi Bushido: Code of the Forgotten Eight.

I listened to Reiko Ike's whole CD on 4shared but I don't have/own Reiko Ike's CD. I also like some Korean movies such as Oldboy, Sympathy to Lady Vengeance, etc. Kamikaze Girls looks good.

@concentricvoid I bought the Pinky Violence Collection set when Panik House originally released a few years ago or so. It was a day one purchase for me. I love Reiko Ike's cd. I also like Kamikaze Girls; great film. I have Bohachi Bushido. Zero Woman: Red Handcuffs is really good too. Sex & Fury with Reiko Ike is one of my favorites. The Sukeban (Girl Boss) films and the Rica trilogy are decent too; not to mention Junko Miyazono's "Legend Of The Poisonous Seductress Trilogy". Love these films!

I hear ya. I ordered Meiko Kaji's cd about 3 months ago. Awesome booklet with fabulous photos of this gorgeous woman. I also like Reiko Ike, Junko Miyazono and Naomi Tani. I also have about 12 of Meiko Kaji's films, the "Toei's Bad Girl Films Pinky Violence" book from Japan and the Hotwax's "Queen of Japanese Movie" book from Japan that comes with the "From Stray Cat to Girl Boss Blues" music cd. Meiko Kaji is unmatched anywhere in this world. Only woman that comes close to her is Lena Horne.
