The line you use on the turn at 9:05 is awesome when someone is up your ass, go tight, force them wide, come out wide and force them to change to tight. They always loose time coming out of the berm early to try get around you and you got a nice wide exit to get on the power on while they have to slow down.

@BoryCohn yz125. unless youre honda doesnt have quite the power you want. the yz250 will feel like a lot the first time you ride it but after that you just dont get bored with it. im 5'10" and 160 lbs. i have a yz250 and its awesome. I raced my 125 but the 250 is way better for me. my lap at a track was 2:32 on my 125. but the 250 suits my style more so i got it down to 2:19 after a month.. its my second season of riding tho so improvements happen like that anyway

I like the power of my crf250 but im just over the maintenance factor with costly valve specs and expensive engine mods, i strictly ride track. But i keep going back and forth, the yz125 i could rev the shit out of it and still hit everything on a 250F but, a 250 2 stroke i could grow into and have for years. who knows if im even done growing yet. You think a 125 could keep up with a 250f or a 250 2 stroke. THanks, Im undecided.

@BoryCohn Yeah i think the 250 2 stroke is your best bet. I had a 125, but i didnt like how the power was either on or off. The 250 2 stroke really isnt that scary like most say it is.  I moved from my 125 to the 250 and i wish i had done it a year earlier when i was 15. the 125 wont feel good after you have been on a 250f. the 250 2 stroke will feel great and you will be able to grow into it. as far as im concerned the 250 2 stroke is the best motocross weapon available

Im one of those people that always has my bike fully wrapped out at the track on my 250f maybe the 125 would be funny because i could pin the crap out of it. Yet i race some times and 250 strokes can now race against 250f's. I don't know shit, i have someone to buy my bike this thursday.

@BoryCohn Oh well im 5'10" and 165 lbs. I usually lug the gears a little bit just because i like to keep the engine healthy for longer, but you can do either on the 250 2 stroke.. once i rode a 250 2 stroke i was like fuck that 125 lol. and i dont regret getting it one bit. if you make a small mistake on the 250 you can use the power to save you from a lowside. if you miss time a rythm jump you can just pin it to make the next one easily. quick passes are easier on the 250

Hey man how good of a bike is a newer 250? I mean since the four strokes have prettty much taken over, has Yamaha made the 250 any better since like 2005 or is it basically the same? Is it just a 450f frame with a 250 engine in it? Just curious.

@tvangess its all 2 stroke. The frame is only for the 2 strokes, and yes, they have gotten MUCH better since 05. The motor had a big update in 06, and hasnt changed since then, they switched to KYB SSS suspension (Speed sensative Damping instead of Position sensative damping) in 06, and they also changed the front numberplate, handlebars, seat cover, and a bunch of other stuff in 06. New 250 2 strokes are amazing, I have an 07 YZ250 (only one I could find), and I love it. Id go KTM if I could.

I have a 2006 KXF450 and my buddy has a pimped RM250 not sure on the year. Has power force reeds, ported head, all that two stroke pimping. What a beast, i'm the better rider as of last year, but I know that bike can take me with the right driver.
