I am so sad that they screwed up season 5 so much. They. really should not have allowed whoever was in charge of the show after season 4 to do that. The season should have been Dexter trying to pick up the pieces with his three children and balance his hobby on top of the grief, loss and increased parenting responsibilities. Instead, they let Chip Johanesson and the other writers sent the kids away and forced us to watch the Lumen character who I didn't give a crap about.

(About when Episode 3 or 4 was done) They ran it by Julie and she was disappointed but ultimately cool with it. There's no doubt that this was the best possible ending to the season. Even though, it hurt...badly.

Worst, Dexter was very merciful in killing Trinity (the train on with the record playing). Trinity won by and you knew something wasn't right when he said "it's already over". Trinity killing Rita not only destroyed Dexter (AGAIN) and his family but worst he couldn't go back and kill Trinity out of revenge. Trinity won

Season 4-5 really, really sucked! I think seasons 1-3 are the best! I think dexter is cooler when he's independent, not in a relationship. As the seasons go on, they seem to get more dumber and far fetch. Showtime has really gotta turn this show around! This season of dexter, was just as dissapointing as weeds. It made no sense, totally far fetch, and didn't seem to have any kind of climax. If the kids return, this show will bomb. Ester is a bad actress.

The order of my favourite seasons (even though nobody cares except me) are: 1,4,2,3 and 5. So far, 5 has been pretty weak writing-wise. I don't like Lumen, tanned-cop-guy has just become the new Doakes minus all the fantastic character traits, Deb is still the only likeable female, I find myself less and less interested in Angel and LaGuerta, and I'm not interested in the central plot. They'll need to do something pretty damn amazing to convince me this season is as good as any before it.
