This man is an artist through and through. I am going to follow his career and buy his CDs.
Really, this is majestic playing, and he is so young now that he can only get better and better with the coming years. I hope he has a big career like Ashkenazy. Big imagination, big technique, big heart. Big Pianist.
@arlongan im talking about they are all national winners from all over the world. theyre all first class pianists and its ridiculous to call even one of the 'bad', like ive seen so many times
He has long hands and plays them flat like Horowitz as opposed to curved fingers like Baenboim and i think that makes all the difference which makes for clarity and speed.
@dquibs2 this etude is meant to be played with straight fingers... it is impossible to play otherwise.... and in general also, your logic is not acceptable cos vladimir ashkenazy, jozef hofmann, pollini, kissin and a few other greats played with curved hands but the sound as clear a s one could ...
Wonderful! ‘Wunder has got everything one wants to hear in a Chopin player. His is a very patrician, aristocratic kind of sound. He’s got an absolutely beautiful sense of tone and huge musical imagination, coupled with incredible virtuosity.’ This is a description of Canadian media.
He looks so happy

@anonymousQ45 of course there are losers and winners. Take the competition in 2000 as example. Chinese pianist Yundi LI had been the final winner.

I saw his recital 4 days ago in Vancouver, it was wonderful!
He played this etude as second encore.
Such a young and modest person at the reception after the performance, but his play was energetic, intelligent, and sensitive.
