I sort of remember it being on all the time but not really. I'm sure I was mad that first day when I came home from work and rewound my tape all set to watch GH and it wasn't on. I really don't remember it taking over the TV but in 87 I was still having too much fun and was out all the time. Me and my husband were babies we were only 26!! I wish I was 26 now!
I thought this was an interesting clip so I decided to post it. When I first saw it I didn't know why I was seeing it then after a little research I figured it out. In 1987 from July 7 through July 15 General Hospital did not air because of the Contra Hearings. This is how the show began on 7/16/87. Instead of seeing our Scorpios we had to see Ollie North for 10 days.

I remember when the Watergate Hearings took over TV when I was a young teen and I was not amused!
