  • zajebiscie :D

  • to lazy as for me....

  • nice man..

  • good man

  • Nice vid dude! Are you from Austria? I have a cousin living there in gobelsburg. ^_^ Bravo!

  • I need this notes please write back

very good playing and very beautiful bass

  • where can I get background music like that, without the bassline to play along with. anybody care to share please.

by the way, nice playing, mate!

  • you need a midi player and a playalong midi for the song.

    questions? -> google

  • but very nice anyway

  • very nice playing

  • great playing:) but I'm sure it wasn't Jaco who recorded this tune in the first recording. I believe it was Victor gaskin with Joe and Cannonball. well, it would have been great if it was jaco:) anyways, great playing!

  • solo - failed, but good job anyway ;) i'm still working on it ;)

  • yeah dude i need to learn this song in 2 days or i fail music, i need bass tabs

  • were can i find good tabs for this please help send a link im desperate please please pleeeaaaasse thanks

  • look at my how to video it's also not as complicated but you can still improvise from what i play

  • I only wonder how much more awesome you would sound with a real band! But still, very musical and awesome bass playing. You are really talented

  • jaco played on this song?? you sure? i thought this was a song joe wrote while in cannonball adderly...

  • yeah its jaco it has his style.

  • nice nice nice :)

  • Dude can you please send me those tabs please?!

  • Very musical bass ideas, man. I'm impressed. And this is my 1st Youtube comment in years, after seeing a lot. Hope it means something :D. Jaco achieved™! Although it's not "being" Jaco, Caron or Wooten that I like. It's the feeling of slaming down the right tones exactly when they are intuitively needed, no more or less. You could be more steady though, IMHO. Reflect more confidence and precision rythm-wise. (I hate the same thing in my own playing :)). Or it might just have been a bad day.

  • Hey man, good stuff, you really keep the groove going well!

  • Yeah man! Nice playin, nice ideas! Five stars *****

  • great compliment from a great fellow bass player! thx :)

hope to get up some vids soon again. currently im suffering from an injury on my right arm => have had it for 6 weeks now :(

  • great work! really enjoyed listening to this.

  • Really nicely played! And Paltarena why the negativity? Mercy Mercy Mercy is a piece thats played at a wide variety of tempos from Buddy Rich to Cannonball Adderly, and its harder to groove playing along to some crappy CD, i think he does a pretty damn good job, if he were playing with a live band then he'd vibing! Keep it funky. Peace.

  • Man that sounded great keep it up and for Paltarena why don't you try not being such an ass.

  • thx arnbassbaritone! new vid uploaded today!

  • Great lines. But, the tempo is way too slow. It just does not groove. Mistake on 1:49

  • thank you paltarena. the tempo is the one from the playalong cd. you are right, the note on 1:49 is quite harsh ;)

    have a nice day!

  • thx for your comments! i appreciate them!

  • Nice job dude, I can't find the real tab anywhere on the net. Mine is quite different.

    Thumb's up !

  • dude your playing is amazing

  • Mercy, mercy, mercy!!!! Excellent

  • very much appreciated. thank you! :)

  • Nice groove. You listen to a lot of Jamerson I take it?

  • yeah quite. thx!

  • Good job.You should try:

    ~Nuff Said by Jeff Taylor

  • thx for the tip leopardstar! i dont know this song yet but ill check it out!

  • is that a fretless?

    nice playing!

  • thx renagade:

no, its a fretted fender jazz bass limited edition (MIA) i just tried to get a very fretless-like tone. so it seems that worked out :P

  • How long does it take an average base player to get good at it

  • I am a begginer at base I heard good things about your bass, do u recomend a newby getting tht bass though?

  • in my opinion the fender jazz bass is a very versatile bass. u can use it for just any music style u can imagine. funk, jazz, rock. it sounds good in finger style and also slapped.

the one i got is a fender jazz 2000 made in america. in those days they said that the americans had a better quality, but lately the MIMs (made in mexico) have gained quality and still are a little cheaper than the MIAs (made in america)

so id say: if u have the money for a fender jazz (about 1000 $), go for it =)

  • Refreshing...keep up the good work.

  • thank you very much =)

  • very nice work!!man, this sound is amazing.good job joko!!

  • hi! thx for your comments.

well thats the only version i know of it played by jaco. ive got it out from a transcription book. i kind of thought i could add my own little flavour here and there, but as i proceeded learning the line i just couldnt. jacos line was so cool and fresh and i learned so much cool things by learning this line, so i wanted to share the "original" with you :)

    have a nice day!

  • I've heard Jaco doing Mercy Mercy Mercy... must be a different recording, cause the version i heard, the one off curtain call, makes you go get a fresh pair of pants after. This version, not so much... but very well done nonetheless!

  • Not bad, but I'd appreciate if you make it more clear that it's you, not Jaco. I see a little difference here...

Plus, to me you sound a litle saaaad. Good job, though.

  • Joe was a true genius, the music world lost a big one! I loved Jaco too, R.I.P.

  • Yeah, I just read about Josef Zawinul passing way too. What a loss for the world. By the way, very nice job; I hope you post more.

  • just heard the tragic news :(

today joe zawniul died in my hometown vienna. he had cancer. what a big and tragic loss!

    rest in peace joe

  • thx. unfortunately i dont know the exact setup for that sound. ive tried and tried and then i found out, that i liked this sound. and now i cant find it back... silly me -.-

    thx for your comments!

    have a nice day

  • realy very nice sound man... Good guitar.

  • like this sound

  • its a fretted fender jazz (2000) limited edition

  • you don't see the frets Ackamoracca?....

  • is that a fretless?

  • Nice playing, but i felt like it really dragged. Not enough feeling in the playing, a little tense sounding, might might just be because of the backing track though.

  • Hey man where did you find his tabs... Any site perhaps?

Also good job its not perfect but really well when trying to mimic one of the bass greats.

  • thx cgunn. no tabs here. i got the sheetmusic from a book. if u like i can look up the exact name of it today in the afternoon.

i know its not perfect. maybe in some time ill upload a new one, playing it better!

thx for ur comment! have a nice day!

  • thx! its almost a note-for-note playing of a transcription book of jaco songs. ive chanced this and that at places where due to 32nd notes-problems and stuff like that.

thx for your kind words though :)

    have a nice day!

  • I thought it was more a straight- eight feel and less funky. But good job.
