  • wow if there was a double moon bow the rainbow guy would have an aneurism/stroke/seizure then die reincarnate and repeat the cycle

  • awesome :D i read bout them but never seen one before~

  • OMG OMG!

  • now we just need a moonicorn!! :D :D

  • its starting to look like a triple moonbow

  • what's that song called and who plays it?

  • what does it mean!

  • double moonbow all the way

  • dang really old video..

  • Double moonbow! So intense!

  • @orion1954 w0w

  • some people see them sparky or dull depending on your eyes

  • If rainbows are rare, moonbows are even more unusual. They form from light being reflected off the surface of the moon, rather than from direct sunlight. Several factors must be in place for a moonbow to be visible. The moon must be full or within two days of becoming full (when it is brightest). With the exception of moonbows generated by waterfalls, the moon must be low in a dark sky. Water vapor must also be present in the air.

  • what song is this,? its so chill

  • Thanks to share with us!!

  • Viewing things like this make you glad to be live.

  • Que? XD

  • moonbows are supposed to very rare. Awsome job catching one.

  • saw many moonbows in my 20 yrs on Maui, thanks jay for posting this...

  • On Maui we saw moonbows as we came out of a luau in Lahaina on the beach. It had been raining, and was just clearing as we came out. The stars were very bright and there were two moonbows, night rainbows, ghostly and very beautiful. I had used all my film inside for the firedancers etc. and couldn't get a picture...^%(#

  • I thought these things are only in ur eyes...

  • omg! i've never seen anything like that! its so cool!!

  • oh so pretty!!

please, what's the tittle of this music??

    thx

  • pretty good!

    I'v seen a "moon-halo" before.

  • My dad saw one before x3

  • there's somethin' special about Maui... it's the only place I (and my friend Cathy at a different time) have witnessed a moonbow too :)

  • where and under what conditions to moonbows occur

  • The same conditions as a rainbow. They can occur anywhere but are more common in Hawaii because they often have isolated rain showers. I hope that was helpful.

  • i was upcountry haiku way on maui, cow pasture, it was about midnight, full moon. found a nice patch of cowpie wheaties(magic mushrooms) celebrated by doing a little happy dance looked up to thank the heavens and seen the most beautiful vibrant moonbow in shades of lavender pale blue pink and silver.if i'd already eaten the space biscuits i would not have believed my eyes. ahh, island life, what a hoot.

  • there waz anotherone lastnite

i waz outside for a long time looking at it

  • To think, I would learn something from the ACT. Moonbows are awesome and rare. This looks really pretty. How long was the camera left exposed?

  • lol thats where I found out about moonbows too.

  • To think standardized testing to get into college would teach us something!

  • its very nice but i want to know what is that music it is so beautiful souds like the music of the movie grizzlyman ! thanks

  • i saw one of these on the island of coll of the west of scotland once! very cool it was. but it was like 3 in the morning

  • looks like homer simpson put another poo silo in the lake EPA's dropping the big glass dome

  • it was shaped like a shield

  • very normal -.-

  • normal maybe by the sun, but by the moon, heh.

  • moon ?

  • lol its called a moon bow because its made by the moons light. ffs.

  • wow

  • (*_WOW WO O WO WO W !! THANX

  • That is pretty, It looks like a barrier of light protecting the city ^^

  • "Protect your home, under the big gray dome!"

  • I saw that once in my life! great!

  • Thanks for the nice vid japril1! You are so lucky to have captured this on video! I have only seen this phenomena 1 time and I'm about to turn 30! I read that moonbows are quite common in Hawaii, is that true? Thanks again!!

  • What is this? Looks strange...

  • aue te purotu e!(it so beautiful)

his tahitian name is "tupu tea".

    (rainbow is "tupu anuanua")

    nice music to.

  • incredible! God rocks, we rock! bc we are God!=0) i want to see one!

  • wow.. its so beautiful

  • i saw a moonCIRCLE once. the moon was almost in senith and a thin circle surrounded it. but thatone was only white tho...

  • That is so cool! I hope one of these days I get to see a moonbow.

  • has anyone ever seen the harvest moon?

  • God is an awesome God indeed!!!

  • really pretty and also weird lol

  • Wow. Normal moonbows are rare enough, and those are normally all white due to incomplete refraction since moonlight is not as strong as sunlight. But a moonbow with definite 7 colors is extremely rare. You are very lucky. Great choice of music, too. (What is it?)

  • WOW thats such an awesome event isn't it? I remember seing one on the big island once when I lived there! Faved! 5's!

  • Wow, thats really awesome. =] Very beautiful.

  • that's is damn beautiful

  • Aw, I didn't get to see one yet ]:

  • i saw a moonbow a few weeks ago in leeds england

  • That is amazing!!! Thank you.

  • This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

  • There is one question you see on every video and I'm surprised nobody has asked it yet:

What song is that? It's ultra relaxing.

  • These are quite rare. cool video.

  • crazy shit

  • wwoooooww....im so stoked im moving back.

  • ive seen one of thos before

  • thanks! you learn something new every day. I'm a weather nut my whole life too.

  • man i wanna see one

  • I saw one on the Utah/Idaho border at midnight. Had to pull off the interstate. Wasn't sure what I was seeing, but I called it a Moonbow.

  • I saw my a moonbow as a kid only an hour or two after hearing someone tell me they saw one years ago. It was very trippy. It took me a few years to find out for sure they were real. There is something in literature about 3 moonbows appearing when a monk was born, or his first birthday or something.

People go hunting for them :D

  • same i've seen only 1 in real life, it was around 12AM

    really cool

  • what's a moonbow?

  • Its like a rainbow. When the dew of a nightfall rain hit the moonlight in an angle it makes a moonbow. Awfuly rare and very beautiful/ More beautiful in real life.
