  • The only problem with this is that if you have put a base coat on and you need to correct it will take it off.

  • i have a better idea and ive used it before people posted videos about it

all u have to do is take a piece of tape and put it under where u want ur tip to be.

then paint on the tip to the end of ur nail so it wont matter if you mess up :)

i swear to God i came up with this. thumbs up if it works for you!

    ~~Good Luck~~

  • I have been doing my nails like this for a very long time. Doing it this way gives a nice, CLEAN crescent shape at the tip. I've tried the stickers and they can be a hassle...I've tried swiping my brush straight across, and the crescent doesn't come out sharp.

  • I JUST DID MY NAILS LIKE THIS AND THEY CAME OUT PERFECT...MY NAILS HAVE TO BE SHORT BECAUSE I HAVE A TODDLER AND KEEP ON SCRATCHING HIM...BUT WITH THIS TECHNIQUE I CAN ACTUALLY GIVE THE IMPRESSION I HAVE LONGER NAILS...

  • i use tape ;D

  • I just did this on my roommate. I was skeptical of this working for me, because I was using a cheap brush and a cheap nail polish remover...and cheap nail polish...BUT it worked beautifully!

  • I wish i had long nails like that

  • @cheekycatlover47 I recommend using sally hansen maximum growth its really good im using it and im glad with the results its a peachy clear polish and i use it for french tips :) hope this helps

  • doesnt that like... dry out ur nails?

  • nice..!

  • or you cud save some time and just shape some tape in the shape of your nail and stick it right on without having to worry about getting out of line and having no curve(;

  • Wah kind of brush is for doin tht???

  • i think most men like that kind of nail polish,as what i've always experience with my bf,everytime i make that style he always gives compliment.but when i change it to other color,he always say, yack ugly nails...what can i say,so i have to stick with that style hahaha..which i love the most..

  • hi your nail are really hot and i wish my girlfrnd also has that kind of nails they are really hot every girl must have that kind of nails

  • i cant see a thing!

  • can't see anything with the hoard of words blocking the picture....thumbs down!

  • Thanks.....

  • i really like how she is using that technique

  • that looks easy

  • those stupid words are blocking her

  • Im doing it without tape, remover or so...And im not a pro.

  • what's in the white cup?

  • @kriskalady nail polish remover

  • @kriskalady nail polish remover

  • This video was great. In Australia, all nails shops do it that way to be more professional. The way she did was normal. If you used tape it would be un professional. Tape is a time saver but isn't that good sometimes.

  • Didnt show the finished product!!! and is it hard to do the right finger nails with your left hand?

  • What brush is she using?

  • @AnointedBombshell an eyeshadow brush

  • ur so smart. :D

  • helloo.. I use self adhesive ring reinforcements.

    1. they are cheap,

    2. we can get them in different sizes

    3. and they also give the rounded finish for a great french manicure. hope that helps you. =)

  • so funny, I've been using electrical tape for years now. It's so cool other people do it too. I chose electrical tape because it can be stretched so the line can curve a bit instead of being such a straight line.

  • @dapherlydoo

before i got the konad stamping kit i used to use scotch tape and it didn't work out very well, does the electrical tape leave a black residue?

  • @bonniemae187 no black residue ever came off anywhere. It's just time consuming to cut the tape, but I promise you, it makes the cleanest and sharpest cut line out of any tool I've found yet. I've used the little paper pre cut strips before and those are good too, but they tend to raise on the nail causing the paint to leak messing up the line. The electrical tape is time consuming but it comes out perfect and an extremely clean/precise line. It's really satisfying to the OCD individuals.

  • @bonniemae187 go to any walmart and in the nailpolis area, there will be sticker strips for french manicures. they work amazing.

  • @yellowpowah

yeah i used to use those but for some reason they always left a raised edge where i had peeled the tape away, or it sometimes would bleed through under the tape =/ i got the Konad stamp kit for my birthday a few years ago though and i absolutely LOVE it!

  • why are you doing that, this method is very time consuming isnt it just use the sticky tips that r like stickers

  • how do u cut ur nails and make a mani

  • I don't like this method at all... I always pay attention when putting on the white lacquer and the result is perfect... I never used brushes...

  • 5 stars

  • OMG i never thought about tape!! :D thanku

    l

    l

    `/

  • i just use a tape. its guranteed straight, haha

  • tape all the wayyyyy!! :)

  • that's so hard! u can just get tape! and tape it to your nails without the tips! and apply white nail polish on the tips wait until it dries and that's it!!

  • thank you so much like this is the only way i do it noww... im acually doing it rite now!!!!

  • fake nail tips are great!

  • prettttty

  • i just use a cutip waaay easier

  • very baaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddddd

  • I went to a Nail salon in Orlando FL and that's exactly how they do it except they dont put a base coat.. it was weird but the final look was amazing. Try it..

  • Thats nice!!

  • this technique does work good.. but u have to make sure you find an eyeshadow brush that can take the acetone.. try several different flat brushes

  • oo dat looked nice

  • My nails are gonna be hmm message me ppl if when i am gonna get my nails

  • she could have saved time by making the french line straight, it is possible, and its so much easier when you have long nails, so i don't know why she didnt do it

  • because she wans it to curve not straight

  • Because for the most part, 'smile' lines AREN'T STRAIGHT for a reason, your natural nail has a curve to it. Straight ones are feral.

  • awesome!! I skipped the base coat and used q-tips and with the worlds most un-practiced polish painting hands....managed to get a great looking french manicure. For a noob. Thanks for posting.

  • this is really stupid... she's just taking off all the base coat... so whats the french overcoat going to adhere to? pathetic. real nail technicians are trained to be accurate with their white polish and leave a beautiful french without cheating. it's about practice, not shortcuts.

  • you are right honey. i am a male nail technician and my costumers would be wondering how she did it:-) its not really professional.

    greetings from germany

  • u could also use a Q-tip instead of a brush. much more cheaper than buying an expensive 17$ brush from sallys. JUST SAYIN' ;P

  • i dont see why people say how she did it is stupid.

Thats how most salons do the french manicure and pedicure when ive gone.

When ever i went to go get mine dont i saw how they did it and learned now i do my nails all the time and they come out great.

  • wow what a waste of time....really

  • .........or you could just take your time when painting them.

    Mine come out fine.

  • hi, i just have a question abaout the brush which kind of brush is or size or whta kind i have tu use tahnks before hand if someone could answer

  • hey

just use any flat make up brush... just buy anythin that luks like the one shes using.. u can find it anywhere

  • A eyeshadow brush , will do the trick x]

No need to splash out on a expensive brushes .

Ebay has so many cheap make-up stuff , i suggest you try there :)

  • not to say, but this is lame and why would you put the coat on first? its so wrong my sister did my nails and she put it at the end and it was right

  • yeah you guys need to do one or two vids for all of this stuff. i try to avoid your vids because this is a hassle to watch all of them

  • this video is stupid sorry

  • You just need to apply a base coat to the nails again avoiding the white tip

  • where do u get the brash:)

  • i think its a makeup brush..

    u can buy it anywhere..

  • nice guide...really helpful. however, are there any other tools that can be used besides a paintbrush?

  • lol its not really a paintbrush

    I saw it at Sally`s

It`s a pretty good brush, I think it was for about

    17 bucks

  • why the hell do you have so many different mini clips for a freaking MANICURE! Why couldn't you just film it all at once or at least NUMBERED them. dumb.

  • i do that with an earstick

  • y cant u just use a tape on ur nail before applyin the white nail paint n peelin it off before it dries?....that would give a sharper line i guess.........easier too....

  • but wouldent the nail brush get coverd wid polish ?

  • Atrocious.

  • wow expert villedge has a lot of vids! btw tnx for da tip!

  • Thanks a lot for the tip!! =)

  • you can buy nail kits that have special pen-like things that you use with nail guides and it gives you a great french manicure...

  • Fantastic! Thank you :)

  • it didnt look as good as other french mnicures

  • this is the way the people did my nails at the salon when i was like ten haha.

I still remember, it was to my dads wedding.

I was like whooaaaa.. the lady thaat did it was so good and quick. it looked difficult.

now that i saw this video i might actually try! =)

  • i gotta try!

  • but then that's all a one off payment and you get much more uses out of all those materials.. so in the long term you're better off if you're looking at it financially :)

  • I completly agree =)

  • Hey thats a very good idea !

    :)

  • dokladnie.. juz ja robie prostsze biale kreski ,bez tego cyrku ze zmywaczem..

  • Cool tip (;

  • Have you checked out Marian newmans new inkredibles ??

  • Good God, expert village!

I've watched quite a few of the videos today and I must say I'm shocked - I don't think I've ever seen so much shoddy work!

If you want to do white tips, learn to do it properly with the polish brush. Not only is this a much neater way, it takes less time and you have much less chance of becoming over-exposed to the product and developing sensitivities!

  • Try this out, I have been doing it this way for years, it is way smoother than the 'one swipe' method. Other methods give you lots of polish on your tip... and the usual bump or noticable paint lines. This is actually really fast if you try it. Make sure not to use a base coat and use pure acetone..... don't knock it before you try it.

  • I watched this vid last night and tried it today.....they are the best they have ever looked. so thank you.

  • I've tried that method and I think it's a lot better than using a tape. But I don't think it'll work when wearing base coat underneath the white part, cuz part of the base coat will probably be wiped off by the nail polish remover.

  • You are right. I put the white nail polish first, then use a smaller brush to shape the white polish. I copied how the ladies do it when I have a pedicure. I do my own manicure and now even my pedicure and put my own designs.

  • shice !!!!

  • LOL.. I use regular tape... like paper tape ;D

  • Me too :)

    it's so easier!

  • how many people are in expertvillage

  • I prefer to use nail guides it is an easier and faster way to make perfect french manicure!!

  • umm that takes quite a while to do that especialy if you have long nails!!

  • it aint all tht easy to get this done... probably cuz i dint have de exact same brush !!

  • i hae one question..can you get rid of the white tip with cutetip??

  • yes, but don't go over the nail plate. An idea tool to use for this is really an orange wood stick. Dip the end in nail varnish remover and got over the nail plate that way.

  • ohhh ok..well thank you for the advice..ill try it..

  • its much easy if u'll use manicure tape from the beginning....

  • wow that was so hard!

I made a muck out of my nails LOL!! i suck at doing french manicure!

  • Ha-Ha. When she said "and continue on..." at like 1:24 she reminded my of Tyra on ANTM!

  • me*

  • wait till you guys see how easy this person does her french manicure!

    watch?v=2FRuX-Dj2Fc

  • this is so hard you can just put tape on your nails and leave the top and put nail polish on it then take the tape off it makes a perfect curved line for french manicure

  • I've tried that and I didn't think it would work but it did, it was so cool!

  • lol! it must've looked awesome cause when i tried it it looked great and its easy

  • what kind of tape, and how do you make it curved?

please reply, as i'm desparate to get a good french manicure, but the brush thing looks a bit complicated. Thx.

  • well basically clear tape but any kind is perfect. and just make a curve like this ( on top of your nail well the top part where you put white nail polish on to make french manicure

  • you shouldnt put two coats of white. It only makes it chip faster

  • That helped.

  • What a mess

  • i like french manicure :D

Chiks look hot when make this :D:D:D:D:D

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just paint neat white tips around the free edge in the first place? It's really not hard to do it neatly with a little practise... will also save a lot of time.

  • its actually really hard, LOL x

  • "The nail polish remover takes off the excess nail polish." no shit shierlock.

  • lol i know how stupid was that

  • LOLLL!!

  • LOL

  • I've never seen it that done with a paintbrush before. Don't they have those little stickers that act as guides. It's so much easier that way. You can also use a Q-tip dipped in remover.

  • "hmmmm as i dont really know what i'm doing i seem to have completely messed up so i'm just going to remove the excess nail polish with actual nail polish remover...."

  • wont the base coat come off too..???

    LMFAO

  • no endless love 007 it wont cause you put the base on before the white

  • the problem is

right handed ppl wont be able to fix their right hand ans VICE VERSA

    ?!

    help

  • OMG i nvr thought of that but SOO TRUE!!

    .

  • seeee

    thats why!!

im right handed and i do my left hand verrrrrrrry well

    but my right hand..

    help :D:D:D

i hope i woud find a solution...but i prefere that i do it on my own

    ;)

  • i suprisingly do i good job when i paint my right hand and im right handed

    hmm...

i sure wish it was easier though..

  • it's wierd, cause even though i'm right handed, i'm better at using my left hand for painting my nails!

  • this is true... i do my right hand perfect... but my left hand is always mess... and my bf does an even worse job

  • THis ldy is terrible this is supposed to be expert village she looks like a stay home mom........ lol!!! She nedds to be mmore carefull next time cause that is so not strait ..... lmbo

  • oh gott... schreckschraube...

  • si también es muy práctico utilizar cotonetes/isopos, con 1 poco de quitaesmalte. ;)

  • she doesnt know how to get it right the first time...when applying the white nail polish u have to start at the middle then work your way to the sides

  • That was awesome! using the brush is a fantastic idea.

  • Good tutorial except the type of brush should've been specified. It might work with any brush, but I just learned that the tip with a dome shaped is the best brush.

  • can we get french nails even though our nails are ugly and we bite it?

  • I would try it with gel-nails. Maybe this can help you to stop bting your nails. Yould be a pity if you bite all the french off!

  • u could try face ones, then u wont wanna bite those!

  • u can try acrylic ones.. or crystal nails SO u wont bite it like me haha

  • thats so smart...but i use tape instead ;)

  • That's really smart!

    =)

  • nice thanx so much

  • how anoying is expert village

  • VERY!

  • OMG SO MUCH!

  • omg i will not go to her to do my nails. she does it all wrong.

  • what a great idea!!! thank u so much

  • tape is easier:)

  • This is a great idea! I do my own manicures and also use the brush technique!

  • why do expert village always does separate videos all the time

  • omg ur so rite

i hate watching one and the trying to find the next one

  • Your both right...

You have to go to their channel and search for the name on the videos and then you just try to guess which one is the next video...

  • is this woman wearing abercrombie?!?!?!? I like the video... but what the heck!!

  • how do you know that she's wearing abercrombie?

  • her shirt has a moose on it

  • yes she is lol

  • vaya pedazo truco el del pincel!!!

no se me habría ocurrido nunca! GRACIAS!

  • i am going to do that right now:)

  • where do you get the stuff?

  • where do you get the remover brush from?

  • I think you can just use a regular brush.

  • what u could use is nail stencils to shape it and keep it nice and neat.
