if the japanese occupation in korea didnt happen, we wouldnt be eating Spicy food. Thank god for japanese occupation for spices except for the murdering and raping. SHAME ON U JAPAN. but thanks japan for spices
for example..... oden(おでん) on the street is so dirty, because of the soy beans. usall korean people want a salty and spicy smell. so, they put the soybeans on the oden, and, many people use the brush, this brush is so dirty. and, oden is so dangerous and dirty.
@05r6 Well let's see... she's surgically altered both her nose and eyes in the typical Korean style (her nostrils are round, despite the silicon bridge right in the middle of her nose; I always thought that was so bizarre looking), so basically she looks like every other girl walking down the street in Seoul... plastic, not hot.
This is interesting!!! You guys should make a Seoul/Korean vlog. Just go around vlogging around Seoul. Lots of people are intersted but they don't have the money currently to go to there
portugese brought chilli peppers to japan and then to koreA??? HAHA BULL SHIET! IGNORANT!! chilli peppers handed over from KOREA to JAPAn~ got it??????? not from janpan to korean
it's pretty well-documented that the red pepper is not native to korea and that it came via portugal and japan in the 16th century. i learned this fact at the kimchi museum in seoul where they detail the history of kimchi.

PS: Didn't mean to start off my last comment on a negative note. (I was trying to be objective to compensate for my personal bias in favor of anything that portrays things Korean.) I've only recently discovered your blog and your video podcasts, and really like what you're doing. Looking forward to watching the rest! The "Seoul Glow" intro is excellent, and it's great that you're providing subtitles for watchers on both sides of the language barrier. Keep up the good work you're doing!
Hey there. A bit on the slow side, compared to Seoul Glow #1, but still very good. Your VJ is great. Natural, intelligent, and sincere. None of the usual grinning, silly soundbite stuff. What a relief. The feeling of cold winter and hot street food captured nicely. How I miss that....
NOOOOOOO you don't suck!!! i loved itttttttttttttttttt!!!! Iliked the girl!! she was so natural and sweet!!!! made me feel as if i was satnding right there with you all!!! please make some more of these videos~ i'm off for checking out your website ^^
awesome work guys! well done! food stands in korea... ubiquitous but enjoyable! i especially love the mandu (fried dumplings) and the barbequed chicken marinated in sweet spicy sauce.

I don't like spicy food! North East Chinese has too much spicy food for me, I guess Korea would be the same. I like sweet not spicy! hehe

Interesting comment about history of the spice in Korean food.
I wonder why spice didn't take a big part in Japanese food.
This video made me want to go to Korea and exlpore the street.

sweety8126:
You're right, oden is not the best option for healthy eating.
But do you know how hot dogs are made and from what? Spam? Fast foods? Do you think it's all beef you're eating when you order a hamburger?
Do you know what goes into soda?
My point is, if you're going to be paranoid about food then you must eliminate 90% of all food items available to us.
As long as it doesn't make you sick or kill you, it's OK.
If you opt for a healthier choice, go live in a cave.

"korean people want a salty and spicy smell. so, they put the soybeans ..."
Soybean itself is not salty, spicy nor dirty.
Anything can be dirty and dangerous depends on how they make it.
It can be avoided by regular inspection of gov. or independent comittee.

Haggis is made from sheep and does not contain any blood. I think your talking about boudin sausages(blood sausage).
Awesome videos and narration btw.
I can't stop laughing at the lips singing "Seoul glow". Coming to America is one of my favorite movies of all time!!!
