  • You mean WAL Basses? If so I really don't agree...

  • Wal basses are UNIQUE and have a VERY D.I.S.T.I.N.C.T. sound my friend! Fodera basses are execellent basses as well,BUT nothing compares to a W.A.H.L. it's in a class by i.t.s.e.l.f.! 2 each it's own. best..

  • whats goin on man this is Bubby..you keep doin yo thang dont worry about what folks say...always be humble and practice till the day you die...express how you feel and never let what people say get to you..

  • Sorry for cluttering up this thread, the 500 character limit is annoying.

Everyone, who'd like to get a bit deeper into that should read the great book "Effortless Mastery" by Jazz pianist Kenny Werner.

  • sorry man ,

heartmood is right - you're duddeling much too much. No statement ! and even the Fodera can't fix that ;-) ! You're better stay with the Warwick which seem to fit better to your playing ;-)

  • Nice work man! :)

and I like your music better than the music from heartmood, that man who thinks he is the best bassplayer in the world, pffff

    keep up the good work:)

  • Hey litocool,

speaking in Your terms I'm definitely not the best bass player in the world, not even among the top 1000 ;-)

I'm struggling with my instrument every day. Everyone who posts his videos in public, should be aware of getting some feedback, positive or negative. Never being critizised doesn't mean You play fantastic, it's more aproof that no one cares. Constructive criticism is always appreciated.

My intention was not to blame onebass1, but trying to help him to improve. -tbc-

  • What I wanted to tell him was: never noodle just around on Your instrument, even if You are sitting in a music store, try to make a musical statement, a message. Of Course there is a message in onebass1's playing here, which is: oh, a nice bass, what can I do, this here, yeah and a bit of that, ah going up ad down, yeah and back again, some penta-licks, oh a bit of slapping, nice too, which means in the end: nothing. -tbc-

  • Good, better, best are terms You should use in sports, not in music, though many players confuse sports with music, even some of the "best";-).

Miles Davis, Marcus Miller, Herbie Hancock, Gary Willis, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker who's good, better, best? This is a silly question, they are master musicians and make/made their statements as human beings and set more or less important milestones in music history. -tbc-

  • All of us should be aware of the "little ego" (a Buddhist term, in Psychoanalysis it's called "the concious mind") which is, trying to get attention, love and respect and is a very selfish, egocentric way making music. I'm sure eveyone of us knows that rare moments while playing, when we don't think about scales, fingerings, speed, virtuosity - in short: our ego, instead just play, no right, no wrong, just our music, as it comes from our inner place of freedom, in Buddhism called enlightment.

  • Well I have been told by numerous musicians that if you can distiguish yourself in 4 notes and get the feel for the bass at the same time than you can mess around a little cause its all in fun. Music is about expressing your emotions and well he just seems to have extreme ADD on bass HAHA!

  • You have to f*** up Your sound quite a bit with bad (pre)amp settings to make a Fodera sound so poor... horrible sound, gabby notes, no musical statement at all... my advice: try to learn telling a story, don't use any electronics tweaking Your sound, until You understand what You are doing, get some lessons from a good player.

  • just having fun at bass shop so just relax u are so angry in life just chill and this vidz is about three year a go that when i start playin trust me

  • Exactly wat I'm talking about...These guys get on here and criticize a guy for just tryna have fun...Ive been playing since I was 11 and Im 20 and Im SICKLY! advanced forgive me if it sounds like Im not modest but I am... have never criticized nebody's playing...The great bass players don't give ne negative comments at all...Keep playin onebass1 and I know you are the shit...

  • best tone ever. what woods is the bass made from?

  • awesomewood. you can find it in south america. very hard to come by. its usualy garded by natives and thought as a treasure. half of the men who try to retrieve it usualy die. thats why the basses cost so much.

  • HAHAHAHAHA in hysterics, man!!

  • great bass and playing, but the tone doesn't convince me at all

  • thanks for the comment.

  • very nice sound man!!!
