  • what cam do you have in there? open headers right now?

  • How many horsepower ?

  • any vids of it running after it's tuned or anything? track times?

  • if u swap the v6 to v8 do u have to swap trannys

  • @allenshort400 Yes. But, you have a choice of transmissions you can use:

    T56

    TH400

    TH350

    700R4

    4L60e

    4L80e

  • @demonpixel woah wide variety i don't mean to sound like a noob but what's the difference between all of them? i was lookin for a 5 spd manual.

  • @ripcliff59 If you're looking for a manual, I would definitely do a T56. The differences between all of them would be a lot of info to post here, but if you go to ls1tech.com and introduce yourself, and search for what you want to know, you will learn a TON of what you need, and more.

  • sounds like shit learn something about motors

  • @DarrelBraah Sounds like a cammed engine that hasn't been tuned. Shit is a really broad term; you should have been more specific.

It's like saying "Darrel smells like shit. He should learn something about soap."

  • SOUNDS LIKE SHES RUNNING ROUGH THE TIMING MIGHT BE OFF BRO

  • @GrandAmGT1990 Yes, timing is off. That's why after you put a cam in it you have to get the PCM tuned. :)

  • how much did this project cost sir

  • @KINGGPAT As much as it does to buy a 98-02 Firebird/Camaro with an LS1 in it.

  • What motor mounts did you use? The LS1 Adapters Plates or something custom.

  • @usacustom100 I used a K-member from UMI Performance and stock replacement Prothane motor mounts. But you can use a stock K-member and stock motor mounts from any 98-02 Camaro/Firebird and it will bolt right up.

  • im planning on starting my swap soon. i would appreciate any advice you have. what did you do about the wiring harness for the motor?

  • @panchito713 Best advice is to be patient and methodical. Research as much as you can if this is your first swap and you don't have a donor car.

For the engine wiring harness I used a Painless Performance harness, PN 60506.

  • hey man u gonna scare the hell out of ur neighboors lol

  • @diistriitglow lol neighbors are cool. They all have muscle cars too.

It's the home owner's association that pisses me off. Buncha wussies.

  • No vids of it on the road?

  • Great inspiration btw

  • October for my 96 bird

  • Im doing a swap on my 94 camaro from a v6 to a LT1 383 Stroker or a LS1. The 383 is cheaper with more power but the LS1 is an all around better engine... hmmmmmm Bolt on list is larger with the LS1 but you can still basically match numbers with the LT1...hard to decide.

  • @Stevenhiggles The LS community is insanely huge. There are many reasons for that. Shops are also starting to drop LT1s from their tuning services. If you have the chance to use an LS1, do it.

But if you already have a 383 LT1 and you are set on putting it in your 94, there's nothing wrong with that. It'll still be a fun car with some good power.

  • well I havnt bought one yet and I may just go for a ls3 since Im going to be running into some money here n a lil

  • @Stevenhiggles LS1 forsure some people are lucky to see 400whp on an lt1 with full boltons heads and cam, for 400whp on an ls1 you just need an aggressive cam and exhaust

  • @Stevenhiggles Keep in mind the LS1 swap will require you to use the two fan cooling system. If I was you and had the money I would buy the LT1 and turn it into an LT4. Not just that mine and your cars are made for the LT1 so if you have the LT1 eletrical harness it should work.

  • @Stevenhiggles The LS1 would have to be costume. So that means lots of money anything eletrical. The LT1 has been around longr so that means it will be cheaper and so will parts.

  • What did you get the LS1 out of? I have an LS1 out of a 98 Firebird that I'm thinking of dropping in an 85' Z28 or an 87' IROC. I have a 93' Z28 that's still stock but I was thinking of stroking that shit out. Nice swap man.

  • @MexiCancerIII Thanks man! The LS1 came out of a 98 Camaro. It didn't come with an engine harness though; I used a Painless Performance one.

LS1s in third gens are badass. If your 93 is a Z28, stroking that LT1 would be sick. Cam/heads and it'd be pretty stout man.

  • I would consider dropping the LS1 into my 93', but in that case I would just rather buy a 98'-02' Z28/SS and just swap the 93'-97" fenders, nose clip SS hood and headlights on it. I figure it might be hella cheaper. I don't like the 98'-02' front end. I call them "ugly faces".

  • @MexiCancerIII Yep that would be easier. Lots of people call them catfish. :D

  • i want to do the same thing to my 95 camaro. it got a 3.4l v6, i want to drop a ls1 in it : )

  • thats cool, imagine it runs a little stronger now lol

  • look like he had a v6 3.4 camaro

  • Yup. Had to rip that mf'er out man. lol

  • congrats sounds awesome now put some headers on it

  • It's got FLP headers. :)

  • nice.

    What ECM ? tuning ?

  • PCM is a 98, tuning is being done on it right now; the tuning shop is using HPTuners. Actually I think the tuning is done; I just need to pick up the car. I'll pick it up Saturday since I have to work all week.

  • hey im interested in doing this to my v6! whats the process?

  • Sounds angry dude, you 2 match perfectly sig.
