  • Watching this for the tenth time and every time it makes me even more sad :'( Why did they break up? Just as I was discovering more and more of Rishloo... :( Ain't fair

  • P.s. Come play for me in Indiana so I can have my interview too?

  • Greatest band alive, hands down.

  • ахуетьбляь!

  • Love this. Reminds me a bit of Fair to Midland.

  • I've heard sicssorlips for the first time about a month ago, now i listen to the entire album every single day in the way to work and in the way back home. Yes its that fucking awsome!

  • A friend of mine showed me this band and I fell in love the first time I listened to them

  • the audio quality seems really poor... too bad, great band.

  • this band rock....end of story...

  • Might I add i've been listening to Rishloo and Tool for many years and I still see no resemblence, they are two unique bands, both amazing at what they do. Stop hatin you jealous faggots, these guys are golden

  • Who else instantly became a Rishloo fan after hearing just one song?

  • What I liked was that at first I though: ahhh crap another girly sounding alternative band....and then WTF? this dude voice is so amazing.

  • these guys are terrible compared to tool >:(

  • Jesus christ.

My two fav bands are Tool and Rishloo.

I appreciate the subtle similarities, like the kick ass lyrics and music, but they are very different.

But people are fuckin stupid, you guys are expecting too much from ignorant trolls.

  • Great song, but crappy audio quality :-(

  • Comparisons to tool, fucks sake. At least Andrew Mailloux isnt trying to sound like Maynard, unlike some other "metal" bands out there (Earshot was truely awful). There are some similarities to Tool, but more in style than sound. This is to be expected as they are both prog metal bands. I think tool is a little more polished, but Rishloo is totally Indie, so that is only to be expected. IMO romance of a dead kingdom is one of the BEST SONGS EVAR.

  • gotta say i fucking love Rishloo. as a massive toolhead i have found something akin to them. so fucking win !

  • A friend told me to listen this. Well, I think that I've found a treasure, and my friend will be, for this week, my new god xDDDDD

  • That guys got some good lookin hair. Great music as well xD

  • What an amazing band! Such need our support so that they can continue making good music. BTW, does anyone know where i can find tabs for this band? I really wan to learn to play 'to tame the temporal shrew'.

  • @niabella18 AGREED

  • This is something Else. Why is it necessary for everyone to copare it to something widely known. This is well written and crafted music. Let yourself be taken!

  • the only song where they sound like tool is Seven Ring Left... and they sound a lot like Deftones. In El Empe his voice resembles Hansi Kursh's voice (Blind Guardian).. it's a mixture full of win

  • Haha they really don't sound like Tool at all. I hear hints of Fair to Midland or Dredg but they are original as hell.

  • @Counterweight22 It's a bit funny how bands like The Mayan Factor, Rishloo and Fair to Midland always get compared to TOOL. The only resemblance I can find would be depth of insight, displayed with the lyrics and the music itself.

  • love this band but i didnt know they wor kids this is the 1st time i c them in a video

  • @Mrpossy1 Kids? They are in their twenties i think. I wouldn't call that kids. But i'm just 16 so what can i say about that=P

  • this is awsome and thats all you can say

  • La han cagao mostrandose a las camaras

  • masterpiece of a song combined with a shithole video :/

  • @niabella18 They're underground. What do you expect? Lol

  • This song should be far more popular....

  • @Millosh024 I have to agree....I just don't think people who listen to sh*t like Justin Bieber (etc) would appreciate such a masterpiece...

  • @Po3tWith0utARhym3

    Even so...way to few views.

  • i saw them live and love them they rock

  • very theatrical sound is so different in a epic way! wouldn't mind seeing another show close by to Montana or better yet in Montana!

  • amazing band they are in the same sounding genre of tool i dont care what anyone else says i know them and know them personally im seein them live march 16 they are badass .remember to inspire

  • amazing band they are in the same sounding genre of tool i dont care what anyone else says i know them and know them personally im seein them live march 16 they are badass .remember to inspire

  • is that a girl?

  • @flippynutty15 No, that is not a girl. He just happens to be prettier than most men! ;D <3

  • if they were "tool wannabees" dont you think the music video would be more artistic instead of shots of the band playing you would have different shapes and figures moving around artistically, tool is one of the best bands out there... this band is progressive. that does not make them tool wannabees. shit audio quality btww...

  • chingon, buena banda rockea!

  • not much like tool more like a perfect circle

  • Comment removed

  • This band is for sure influenced by tool, but they arnt trying to be tool. I think the singer sounds like maynard in some parts of songs. Great band.

  • @Outkast87 Actually the band was interviewes one time and they negated being influenced by tool, They sound similar but what I like is that their music is fresh, is clearly not a copy or a makeover of someone else. Dramatical, intense.

  • 3:52 Blind Guardian!

  • like all american prog metal including tool they want to be king crimson :D i like this band

  • More bands should be Tool wannabies. Excellent, love the thought provoking lyrics.

  • this song is a lot different in style from Tool. Their best songs differ a lot from tool... But they have some songs you can relate to tool

  • EXCELLENT!

  • Well, I loved Tool long before I heard Rishloo, then I heard Rishloo and now I love them too:P

  • Adoro este tema, Es genial!

  • @Evee987 no cierto?, esta la raja

    Gran grupo

  • @SoulDealer8 Sii! es buenisimo ;)

  • The sound quality is really bad, maybe you wanna do something about that? Anyway, great song. LOVE 3:52-3:57!

  • you just could try to be like TOOL...

  • Low budget, great tallent ! great band!

  • @JaymzkgSerbia right on, Srbine! ;)

  • Come on, they sound a little like Tool. I'd guess they were influenced by Tool, but they have their own thing going.

  • fucking freaky vocals, fucking damn texts, love this band <3

    come on come all tonight..

  • This song doesnt sound like anything from tool... I do think that a couple songs from Terra Fames soud a bit Tool-esque. I dont think that theres anything wrong with that tho

  • This song doesnt sound like anything from tool...

  • dude, whoever thinks this is tool wannabes clearly doesn't know tool's music, neither rishloo's

    two fuckin great bands

  • wow amo este grupo, ademas de que en algunos momentos el vocal tiene una voz muy parecida a la maynard, por eso creo que su voz es lo mejor *O*

  • It's the same story as every band that uses djent or polyrhythm's being Meshuggah rip off's, It's just silly. Although it is hugely complimentary to the original bands i.e Meshuggah, Tool as it means that they have created a style so unique that when a band takes influence from them, there's no two ways about it, they are gonna sound similar because there's nohing else that sounds similar!

  • anyone who says these guys are tool ripoffs are complete dumbasses. It seems like many people who find a progressive band automaticly say their are a tool ripoff cause thats the only prog band they know. Fags...... Rishloo is equally as great as tool though.

  • @thehumanabstract00 To deny that these guys sound VERY similar to Tool would be stupid. There is a huge difference between ripping off and taking influence from though.

  • saw these guys live in seattle, they fucking kicked ass

  • vocals = intensity

  • Man, I love this guys voice, I like the music, and love the atmosphere they create. Definitely a band to watch.

  • wooow! :)))

i kept staring at my screen for a minute after the song ended... hehe lol!

very inovative, very intense, very melodic... very awesome!!!

and for all you h8rs out there about all that wannabe shit, well theres a thing called inspiration, well all suck it out from somewhere, there is no such thing as originality, just re defining something you heard, in this case, earlier and smelted into something different! so just listen and enjoy or go the fuck away!

  • HQ version /watch?v=mMmJda_qzW4

  • what does it matter if they sound like tool or not? if you think they sound great and you enjoy listening to their music, thats all that counts. disliking a band cause they sound like somebody else is ridiculous

  • I think that there is a lot at work with this band. I think Drew's voice has tones of Maynard James Keenan, Geddy Lee, Freddie Mercury, and on this song, maybe even some Rodger Waters. He has an amazing vocal range. I think there is a lot of inspiration from Tool, A Perfect Circle, Pink Floyd, Rush, and Iron Maiden that can be heard in the instrumentals of all of their songs, yet there is something unique to Rishloo's sound that I have not heard in other bands.

  • Lol who the hell said there tool wannabe's? Lol, idiots... these guys are nothing like tool...

  • i have discovered them today...i think they are great =D

  • and if they sound like anything its much more like the mars volta

  • Comment removed

  • Even tool was influenced, maynard and adam have even said that all their music is almost a direct ripoff of king crimson. Are you gonna argue with the band themselves? Ignorant ass kids shouldnt run their mouths like they actually know what theyre talking about. this band is alright. not great. but not bad because they sound similar to whom they were influenced by, so shut your negative mouths and get over your superiority complexes-its pathetic.

  • He sounds like opera serj tankian when he screams. He was a good vocal range as well. They sound nothing like Tool either.

  • Good thing none of the world's greatest bands were ever influenced by other world's greatest bands - Beatles, Rollingstones, Doors, Metallica, Tool,... Good thing they all had earphones when they were born and were never tainted by the sounds of the music of others. These guys are not stealing tunes meant for Tool to publish, they are making their own and they sound great! Listen to their music and permit yourself to enjoy it ,or give way to criticism and miss out on the unique feeling.

  • This is epic, too bad that the quality sucks.

  • You don't hear anyone bitching about a cover song. Let the guys be. So what they were influenced by Tool. You don't ever hear anyone going "Man! The totally ripped off Beethoven!" Maya's right: It's the cycle and evolution of music.

  • Why do you come to a video to fucking bitch about the band?

Now, this band is clearly Tool influenced, and they are not the only band that are, Tool are a very well known and influencial band. If one band has the sound of another band, it's a compliment that they want their kind of sound, not an insult. Also. do you really think Tools sound is completley original, every band has to get their sound from somewhere.

This is a great song, and if you disagree with me, you can suck my fucking cock!

  • I absolutely looooooove it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really like Rishloo. However, its just evolution of music. Many who have been influenced by the trend setters will progress the genre further and efficiently. It happens. The influence of those who have come before still deserves respect. There is no Rishloo without Tool. Just as there is no Tool without _____...get it? Comparisons are unnecessary.

  • @Maya730 No Tool with out The Melvins and King Crimson, mainly. Its a cycle, many, many bands have influences from Tool, even mainstream radio music......

Good way to put it Maya

  • This has been my favorite song for like 2 years :)

  • if I had to choose between the wannabes (Rishloo) and tool, i would say that the wannabes would get my pick. i like tool, i just like rishloo better.

  • His voice is a little(just a fucking little) like Maynards but quite better and more energetic. (Don't get me wrong, I do like Tool) Besides that I see no other similarities whatsoever. Rishloo is amazing.

  • sweet instrumentals but idk if i can get into it..his voice is very unique to me..but i felt the same way when i heard tool and they became my favorite band..ill give them a try.. anyone know some songs i should listen to by these guys?

  • @Turdfergasen1107 he sings a little bit weird on this song all his other songs his voice sounds great, go listen to the song scissorlips

  • After Listening to Eidolon i got feathergun and almost could not believe it was the same band. I think i like feathergun more though, Regardless there both great albums.

  • besides, even if they sound like someone else, who cares??? If they ROCK who cares???

  • How do you sing so high? Dear Lord. U guys are... There's no words for how awesome you are, SOMEONE SIGN THESE GUYS!!!! WTH??????????????

  • i love this song

  • I love this video just because it looks like it was shot in someone's basement.

  • I agree with MetalHeadMarines they are great one of my fav bands and Tool is one of my fav bands as well. they have there own sound.

  • Why wont anyone sign these guys. Better than any "new" thing out today.

  • LOVE the video and this song, but is there a way you guys could maybe re-upload it now that youtube has improved in their video quality since 2007?? Surely the original you guys have is far better quality than this one. <3 it if you would!

  • really don't see why people are saying they are like tool. nothing , sound more like dredg/fair to midland

  • Tool doesn't have a copyright on the "progressive rock" genre. Even Tool's own albums differ WIDELY in sound and scope. Trying to say these guys try to sound like "Tool" shows how litle you actually understand about music. The BIGGEST similarity to Tool and Rishloo are thier singer both being Tenors. Most musicians in rock these days just "artisticly grumble". Thier sound is more attune to Maynards side project A Perfect Circle if you must compare. Their sound resembles a harder Ashes Divide.

  • @mpg37suckitbush thank you

I'm not sure about copyrighting a genre, but you are one of the few people that have noticed rishloo is not trying to be like tool at all :)

  • @mpg37suckitbush well said! :)

  • @mpg37suckitbush LOL did someone say this sounds like tool? If anything it sounds like Dio haha

  • so inspiring...

  • stubbing westward should listen to this for a few times, wake up and go back to the first album ideas.

  • properly well mixed - 6+ for" after" tool and opeth band to listen, keep going this way guys, we like it.

big hallo to gackiewicz and san domingo, V

  • definitely best new rock band I've heard for ages

  • esta banda es impresionante ...me encanta

  • Great band and song, sadly the audio quality in this youtube video does not do them justice.

There's so much great prog around, both popular and undiscovered, we can only hope these get signed at some point :P

Until then, we've always got Porcupine Tree, fair to midland, pain of salvation, Tool etc, though none of those have the exact style / sound of rishloo :/

  • to me they are like a cross between Tool and Fair to Midland.

  • very astute observation... both great bands, but rishloo still has their own flair and are good in their own right.

  • There not TOOl wannabies, I love TOOl but there not trying to be them dumbass.

  • love both bands, but you got to admit that in eidolon they were kinda trying too hard to sound like tool. good thing they ended up sounding like themselves.

  • @MetalHeadMarines They don't even remotely sound like Tool...

  • @MetalHeadMarines

Who cares even if they were? People used to always say that Marillion were Genesis copies. I think Tool would take this as a compliment. There's nothing wrong with sounding like another band, especially a great band like Tool.

  • his vocals are very dramatic, the music intense. LOVE IT.

  • Is that high note a full-voice Eb5?

  • incredibly underrated band

  • These guys care so much about there friends

  • nice musci.. though the higher alternative is to listen to.. Fair to Midland :D

  • Fair To Midland lacks a lot of the progressive aspects of this band aKa, they go for a more mainstream sound. I prefer prog, so I like Rishloo a lot more. :)

  • progressive (art) rock, by definition.. is far closer to Fair to Midland. Look a little beyond mainstream sound, which, by the way, the latter band lacks entirely..

  • Fair to Midland is way more mainstream, what are you on? All of their songs, even with an art rock influence follow a verse/chorus structure. All their songs are short too. Rishloo has a good mix between more progressive songs and what not (check out Downhill).

You don't know what prog/art rock is obviously.

  • Comment removed

  • That was definitely worth watching.

Note to self: look into this band~

  • i am a huge tool fan and now that i know all the words to pretty much every tools song i have been looking for a progressive rock band (not apc) and i was not sure anyone could be good enough to listen to when comparing to tool but these guys ROCK!

  • @swingarwolf55

You don't consider Porcupine Tree one of the greatest?

  • saw these guys live a while ago. fucking awesome

  • is that you maynard?

  • weird.. amazing.. dunno the right words but still nice

  • my grandma knows Drew, iv met him a couple of times hes really cool and nice

  • My band played with them at the Viduct in tacoma wa! what a great night .. and a great band! The singer is really nice haha... Didnt really talk to the other guys... They are brilliant!

  • hey just to let anyone who wants to see them but doesnt live in Washington, oregon, idaho, British Columbia or montana. theyre going on a U.S. Tour of sorts. they will be going to the midwest for sure and maybe further.

  • the video still is a 1/5 because of the missing camerashot showing us his contorted face full of orgasms ... of course i mean the part @ 3:53 ;)

(just kidding .. even its sadly enough for this big song not a 5/5 but still a 4/5) man .. rishloo .. "looking forward to hearing from you"

  • the ecstasy of moment. i always wait for the ultimate attack .. 3:53.. everytime. this is it ..

  • Come to Salem soon Rishloo! Bought you're cd's, and wanna get feathergun!!!! hurry hurry! it's nearly time! you there and you there and come to Salem soon!!!!

  • his voice at 2:24 is fucking awesome

  • These keywords are terrible. Better to describe it as Tool and Coheed's gay lovechild.

Love the band, this video is decidedly gay.

  • yes the video is very gay. but its a pretty cool song imho <_<

  • this band is gooood, the show i was at the crowd sucked.

i felt pretty bad for rishloo cause they rocked.

  • Good Song, and Good Album, It's hard to find the albm here in mexico :( .... this one is a must have

  • Great song from a great band. Purchase their album if you like them, it's really worth it, and I bet they need all the support they can get. They also have another album coming out soon. I can't wait!

  • please, come to Poland! :D

  • this song is PERFECT.

  • Muy buen tema! gracias por el post!

  • This song is great.... The band is great... The singer is great...

    BUT!...

The rest of the songs on the CD sound too much like Tool, cause the singer doesn't play around with his vocals as much as he does on this song.

  • what? I think the only song that sounds like Tool is Omega. The singer is amazing in the whole CD, not like in Terras Fames

  • mmkay,

    Rishloo,

    Opus Dai,

    And Fair to Midland

Need to come to atlanta and play a show.

I Promise the east coast will love you!

And let my band open for all of you!

    It would be worth it.

    Remember,

    ATLANTA!

  • You just stated the best line-up of bands for a tour ever.

  • I wish they were more popular so I could buy their CD easier. :3

  • Are you really that angry about it?

  • Sound is crackly

  • Cool!!! My band(throne of malediction) is opening for them April 25th!!! It will kick ass!!!

  • Comment removed

  • video is poor, but song is fabulous. I hope they will continue to write song's like this :)

  • i love his voice and the song is really good

  • i love these guys... i just saw them at the ike box last night

  • Good song :)

  • Isn't that what music is truly about... looking cool?

  • That dude's got a unique voice. I can see why Lastfm compared them to Fair to Midland.
