  • SHE IS TO OLD, AND SHE IS DRIVING ME CRAZY....loving the wolf though

  • she looks too old to be playing a little girl

  • I saw this production I'm afraid to think of how many years ago and LRRidinghood was brilliant, as was the whole cast. It was simply one of the most awesome things I've ever seen in my life. I think this production was better than the Broadway version. When we get Sondheim right in the UK we get it very right. We just don't get it right all that often.

  • My favorite part is him panting...I dunno why...

  • That mask is AMAZING!!!!! How on earth did they do that? And the acting is awesome! However, Little Red (how do I put this nicely) sucks. Weird voice, annoying, bad acting... the list goes on.

  • Agree, Red is awful. Wolf great

  • I actually like Red D:

  • pedowolf

  • I despise this Little Red...If they had Danielle Ferland and this Wolf this scene would be perfect!

  • I like how he's quite specifically a paedo rather than a more generic sex offender... that sounds weird -___-

  • danielle ferland plays a much more convincing "red", but clive carter is amazing as the wolf!

  • This is so what the Grim brothers intended when they wrote Little Riding Hood.

  • Pedobear's Distant cousin?

    σ_δ

  • Somehow, this has been the creepiest wolf I've seen so far. Awesome.

  • omg love this song i'm in the play and so far love it!!!

  • Bravo!! Oh Steven your wonderful!!

  • Looks like a fun production.

Still, are we sure Red Riding Hood isn't really Daniel Radcliffe? ;-)

  • the wolf was wonderful

  • Dear God that is creepy

  • WOW that is amazing the mask on the wolf is so cool but i think little red was the worst at 2:23

  • pervvvv

  • i love the somke out of the ears that mask is awsome

  • Wow. That mask is seriously awesome. I hate the red riding hood >.<

  • This ones a little more of a gentlemanly pedobear.

Obviously a pedobear though with his hand stroking up her skirt like that.

  • At last he doesn't have a penis.

  • No pelvic thrust? That's the best part of the song!

  • Ah! The Britishness! It buuurrrns. No, but seriously, I do like this take on the wolf, as a polite gentleman. Great.

  • Looking at the lyrics, this makes the wolf a little creepy.. >.<

  • ahhhhhhh that wolf looks so scary!!!!!

  • that wolf scares me more then the one with the huge junk, and thats a lot -_-

  • I like the OBC a lot better...

  • Very cool mask.

  • Sarah Palin???

  • This version of the play is very surreal and British...but I like it. It's different but it's good too.

  • So British, it hurts.

  • american actress yes but this wolf is funny

  • I rather watch the american version.......the wolfs eyes are creepy

  • To maiy GRANNEHHSS

  • so, i dig the set and costumes and effects and all, but this would not be a favorite casting of mine.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH, 1:56 she's pickin' a wedgie!

  • i like the OBC little red, but i DEFINITELY like this wolf, hes much more creepy :)

  • @teresaisonline idk y but he reminds me of the cheshire cat

  • Lmao, 1:44-1:47 is EPIC!

  • HOW COULD SH ENOT SEE THE SMOKE COMING OUT OF HIS EARS AT 2:36 ???????

  • i like this version because hes less of a sexual predator and more cunning and sinister at the same time

  • @GoredonFreeman dude, thats the point of the wolf and what he represents. BTW just in general, is she really missing a tooth??

  • Oh... so this is how the Sarah Palin wolf rumor started... I never knew she visited London though.

  • I think I like this wolf costume better than the Broadway one. Not because of the penis, I actually thought that was a nice sinister touch...but because...O.O the wolf looks like a perfect gentleman, does he not? "And though scary is exciting, nice is different than good."

  • @lilrowyravenclaw i concur

  • Wolf= creepy, creepy, CREEPY!

Little Red= like others have said, Harry Potter!

  • the wolf is creepy and what is ;little red doing at 0:35

  • It's moaning Myrtle!!

  • the wolf is gunna give me nightmares. omfg scary as hell

  • Harry Potter got into cross dressing? lol

  • The more of this production I see, the more I feel like it misses the point. Maybe the second act does a complete 180 in terms of mood, but this first act seems childish and stale, missing out on all the subtext. I mean, they had a penis on the wolf costume on Broadway. Ya think they were trying to say something? The show is supposed to be (ironically) adult-oriented and dark, even in the seemingly straight fairy tales of the first act.

  • well at least in this show they didn't show the penis like they did in the original!!!!!!! lololol she does look like harry potter

  • @liamrocks55 No... she looks like Moaning Myrtle.

  • i don't like the head of the wolf. it looks to animated, i can't see him as a real person with feelings and urges. :/

  • how old is the girl playing little red?

  • did anyone notice this? but why is harry potter doing in a musical?

  • i love this video! i might be little red riding hood in this play during the summer! cant waittt

  • this wolf is creepier than the USA wolf...

  • Omg. That's an awesome yet scary wolf head.

  • Comment removed

  • I get to play the wolf, and we're making him look like the original wolf, but the leather jacket is a biker jacket with studds on it, and random animal pelts, and a lot of other biker/gothic accessories, so I'm very excited to portray this sort of wolf and it's a very fun party to play.

  • Little Red = Moaning Myrtle.

  • @MaskedLion No it's not. Mianing Murtle is the woman who plays Jude in Bridget Jones's Diary, and that's not this girl

  • I prefer the orginal, the wolf is like a rapist and displays his junk openly, i pretty sure this one is a bit gay. Red looks and sounds like a nerd...:)

  • This Little Red looks 50.

  • O.o WOah, did she kill a fairy at the beginning? Something flies at her, and she yanks its head off!

  • I Love the Steam out of the ears.

  • I actually prefer this Little Red to the original. She's actually acting, which I'm sorry to say the original had some problems with. I'd like to see the transformation she makes later on. One of my problems with this character in the original is that there was no real transformation after her ordeal. This sub-story is, at least in part, about the loss of innocence and I think requires seriously good acting skills.

  • this guys a weird singer.................

  • That mask is sick! so cool

  • Hm...wonder why they went with with the creepy dripping moving wolfhead and not the penis. So many choices to choose from.

  • ...i'd like to know how they got the wolf mask to move?

  • I like the wolf costume. Better than many of the costumes I've seen for this play.

  • The wolf looks like the Cryptkeeper with lycanthropy. O_o

  • with the body of the Joker :P

  • That'd be a fine how-do-you-do; he falls into the chemical vat, pulls off the red hood, and he's turned into... THAT! :O

  • um, is it too weird that the wolf's performance got me really hot?

On a different note, that mask was incredible! This looks like a very old clip, and the mechanics in that thing are unreal.

  • So anyone has any ideas how they pull off that wolf mask?

  • how to make the facial features move? its probably a device in his gloves that he is controlling with his hands or in the mask when he movies his face...u know what to be honest the more i look at it, it seems to look machanical. maybe robotic or something. but its really amazing

  • @abguard515 I know what they done here is amazing. I was also wondering if they had someone controlling his mask with some kind a of remote controller and if the guy playing the wolf is even singing at all? LOL Maybe he is lip syncing Mechanical style?!!!!!!!!

  • possibly lol i have no idea how they do it. i was just guessing. i wish they put more clips up. i adore this show!!

  • wolf is brilliant

  • Little Red is too old and kinda annoying. But the wolf- WOW! That mask is so cool! Little Red is the worst at 2:23. UGH! But the wolf is amazing. I love the mask.

  • The mask IS cool. As an actor, I would hate wearing it because it doesn't allow you to use your face but as an audience member, it looks awesome.

  • @Jeope2468 I agre with you :)

  • I wonder if the person who posted this has the rest of the show. I would really like to see the song "Moment In the Woods" from this cast.

  • as far as I know, these three videos are the only ones that were shown on the paul wogan show. Although I would love to see a video of this cast doing the whole show, specifically anything that had Julia Mckenzie as the witch. deffo for 'Our Little World'

  • I LOVE THAT MASK!!!!!!!!!!!!! The wolf was always my favorite character in red riding hood (I know, what's wrong with me) ad I thing this dude pulled it off PERFECTLY!!!

  • Red is a bit annoying but damn that wolf is amazing. The mask is wonderful.

  • agreed, but i think she's supposed to be annoying as part of the act. i wanna know how that mask works though, it's awesome, especially when it shoots steam outta the ears lol

  • When did he shoot steam outta his ears???

  • his ears shoot steam right at 2:36

  • Yeah, I had posted that after I finally figured where it was, thank you!!!

  • cartoony

  • that's an awesome mask! and wow, that's the ugliest little red i've ever seen.

  • The wolf was pervy but I loved him and Little red riding hood's face pissed me off for some reason.

  • the wolf is supposed to be pervy. he's supposed to represent a rapist...

  • Well he did a splendid job XD

  • hahahaha

  • Yeah, but he sucked as the Prince!!!

  • I love this song it's so catchy!!!

  • That is an AMAZING mask! Very reminiscent of the Red Death mask in Phantom.

Thanks for posting this! I've never seen this broadcast before.

  • First I have seen of this show. Awesome

  • that wolf is really creeping me out, ahaha

  • It is beautifully musically!

  • i pla the wolf in the junior version, and i think this mask is next generation! Its so cool! And the wolf did'nt seem the freaky, but now i know he is!

  • Hey, wolf! Stop picking on Harry Potter!!! lol.

  • @NARCOusins hows he picking on harry potter????

  • is it just me or is that a really disturbing wolf

  • That is the creepiest version of the wolf i have seen....Its SOOO good!

  • SO creepy!!!!!!!! i was lil red 4ever ago lol

  • i personally like the american actress better

  • @oboepower tru dat,tru dat

  • @oboepower I agree with you. This is Red Riding Hood is just too funny that I can't see in Act two, but she does sing well.

  • wow this was impressive!

  • O.O scary bastard. its catchy tho :)

  • The wolf is scary.... well he is supossed 2!

  • Gmork much?

  • I like how they used that tinging instrument for Red whenever she sang...

  • Yeah, that mask is a little over the top. Still, not a bad performance. I must say though, nerms make this song a lot more interesting. ;) I'm a nerm-Nerms are a group of "spirit of the woods" type of characters who are there to motivate and react to whatever is going on with the characters-they're like an embodiment of subtext. And the characters don't see us until the end of the show. It's awesome. :D

  • No. Nerms Suck. A LOT. I just saw the show I think you are talking about. Nerms ruined all the ballads, and added little to this or any other upbeat songs. Half of it was the director not making them more important, but still. Nerms sucked.

  • You know something? YOU SUCK. We worked our asses off to bring something beautiful and unique to this already amazing show, and obviously you don't get it. I'm terribly sorry something so fantastic was wasted on you.

  • PVCC? Arizona? They made us look at the Nerms random walking during the most personal song in the show, No One Is Alone. I must admit I liked the idea, but the execution did not deliver what was promised in the director's notes.

There was one time, the Nerms actually contributed to the plot. Milky White's death. It was also my favorite part of the Nerms. If they were included in the plot more, and there were many ways I thought up thinking about it later, the Nerms could have been awesome.

  • No one made you look at anything. It was up to you where to look and what to interpret. And they WERE awesome.

  • Nerms were pretty terrible...

  • Your face is pretty terrible.

  • Saw the PVCC production the other day. Hated the nerms. So distracting!

  • Your ass should have walked out then.

  • the wolf looks like a chipmunk

  • The Wolf is creeping me out...

  • OMG!! I played the wolf in 1994 production in Jonesboro, AR. My custome was a pink and purple zoot suit...it was great!...ah the memories

  • this is creepier then the penis in the American version

  • what?

  • In the original broadway version, the wolf's costume was anatamically correct--it included a dangling phallus. It further emphasized the role of the wolf as a seducer of Red Riding Hood, rather than simply her devourer. In the original Grimm fairy tale, the wolf calls Red a little slut, and it is hinted strongly that he rapes her. Sondheim and Lupine were trying to refer to the original stories, rather than our modern "watered-down" versions of them.

  • Oh wow! Thank you!

  • Dunno if I completely agree with you, but it's definitely a close race. That is one terrifying mask.

  • Cool wolf mask... creepy though.

  • This is messed up.

  • Smoke actually came out of the Wolf's ears... roflmao. So ridiculous! I love it.

  • wow, the wolf is freaking me out! but i love it:) little red riding hood reminds of moaning myrtle!

  • ol the worlf is good and this and lr voixce is pro soooo manly lol

  • Great performances. I don't particularly care for the "pop-up book" sets but that's just me. I prefer the Broadway version but this was great.

  • that mask is going to now give me nightmares

  • why does the little red looks like harry potter?

  • GOL!!!!!

    Giggle Out Loud

  • well id say they articulated more here, but i liked the other one better

  • I really like the wolf in this! The head is so cool! I don't care much for red, but that's simply because I don't like her interpretation, nothing against her, her singing, or her acting. Does anyone know what the actual set looked like?

  • I agree - that wolf mask is epic, yet creepy.

  • All of you who hate this are just comparing it to the OBC. These were 2 VERY different productions. The London production was based on a 'national trust/heritage' theme, and was a totally different take on the show. Just because the broadway production was first, you think every production must be a copy 'little red shouldn't wear glasses' WHY NOT?? cos it wasn't in the original?? get a life! This was an amazing production and IMO, Imedla Staunton was superior to Joanna Gleeson.

  • That wolf head is awesome.

    Hahaha.

    Red is effing annoying though.

    Seriously.

    And she's wearing glasses!

It takes away from her character >:l

  • that little red is shit so anoying & when she TRYS to sing its just even mor anoying

  • you have no idea how hard it is to do that part either

  • wow this is reeaaallllyyyy sad...

  • omg that wolfs mask is so freaky!!!!!

  • Wow i actually think i prefer this version

  • eww...i don't like red at all...especially her voice. it's really annoying. and red shouldn't wear glasses.

  • ...Why shouldn't she wear glasses? lol

  • OLC<OBC

  • The only thing I like about this more is the wolf head.

  • Really? Because it scares the CRAP out of me, XD.

  • Same here! It was creeping me out the whole time.

And is it just me, or does the wolf look like he should be holding a wand or pulling a rabbit out of his hat or something? I couldn't help thinking of a magician. A scary wolf-headed magician o.o...

  • this looks cheap.

  • I'm not fond of the production at all. Looking very cheap. Great Little Red Though.

  • I HATE this version SOOOO much im playin little red riding hood in my schools production they make her look SOOOO fuckin nerdy!!!! i t sucks!

  • Awesome Electronics for the wolf mask

  • Its a little like he wants to rape her... :P x

  • Which London Productions is this?

  • Eeeeeeeeeeh.... that wolf mask is pretty nightmarish...

  • This version of Hello, Little Girl really just doesn't have the right... feel. Perhaps it's because the Wolf is wearing a suit. And a bow-tie.
