  • this and vendetta online are exacly the same thing

  • its just an arcade shooter... i am unfortunately not impressed... good graphics though, but i hope there is more to the game play

  • I think Freelancer is the best ! :X To me seems that no other flight simulator game is better

  • you guys can play Black Prophecy Online to hold you over for this to release.

  • this looks awsome! and i dont know alot about this game so just wondering, what console this is for, what sizes of ships u can command etc.

  • galaxy on fire online for pc yay

  • looks way more arcade style than JG1 =( and the simulation part was actually what I loved about JG.

  • yes because clicking "orbit 10km" f1 is so hard and confusing to do. eve is pretty terribad actually, and is mostly eliytist snobs who just metagame and cheat (ddos attacking coms systems and spying is par for the course if you want to be "good" at eve.) the game mechanics themselves are just boring and terribly outdated, and the greed-factory that is CCP will just keep making it worse and worse so everyone goes and buys dust.

  • Hey come on now guys, cant everyone get along, EVE and this game are different systems, people who have trouble with EVE dont want to put the effort in to learn, and people who dont want to play this style of game just dont want to suffer from grinding and leveling (and all the people who play those kind of games). I personally love that EVE is hard and confusing because 1 it keeps stupid people fromk playing and 2 it keeps young annoying ass children from playing.

Not saying this game is bad.

  • @lordofpie7000 nah, eve is good but combat is bullshit. gate camping was really fun and I still love the fact that death was actually a big deal but shooting red boxes isnt fun.

  • @A1R3D3E7 i agree eve's combat is bad and i like what ive seen of jumpgate evolution so far. but can this game really beat the scale of eve because some ships you could own were HUGE like the titan class ships?

  • @gary444able like you'd ever fly a titan class...

  • BIOWARE why did you decide to do a Star Wars MMO when you already have the IP to something cooler, Mass Effect! Just look at how Star Trek turned out.

  • @musculargenius89 Are you stupid? MAss Effect isn't an MMO, it's not even fucking close.

  • @sharpezor you can't seem to understand what he said...

he said for them to make a Mass Effect MMO... not that it was :P

  • @TUMaMeia Oups, you are correct, I don't know why I misunderstood. Sorry about that musculargenius89.

  • EVE Online will forever be the best space MMO! Message me with email address for a free 21 day trial... thats 7 more days than standard! I will send starter funds in game to help you a long. Cheers!

  • this is kinda like a more developed ace online/air rivals. though not for me cus it wouldn't be 4 free. and.. I don't like that it's all played out in wide spaced maps. no ground/terrain to swish through.

  • Looks like this game is most likely dead, Netdevil got bought out by Gazillion and they then pretty much stopped the development and disbanded Netdevil. Codemasters are now suing them because they put $1.4 million dollars into the game and they have nothing to show for it.

  • Wow it's like EVE and Freelancer in one. Awesome

  • that large ship did not seem as scary as it should have been. I mean really it looked like anyone could have doged all of those shots without even hardly trying.

  • if eve online was free i would have been had a battlecruiser already....

  • @XxXBoxLeGeNdXxX wow such big ambitions you have ;)

  • i donno, this looks boring... I'll stick around with EVE thank you.

  • @SoraQuasar Well on a 1-10 system of mmos EVE is a negative10

  • @TeamofSpeed on your scale friend. most of people find it confusing, boring, difficult or just annoying because 1) it's just not their type of game 2) the Tutorials are horrible so they quite before getting into the game [takes a few months] 3) totally different gameplay in the least of words and so on... I understand them. but if you can ignore all of these and just be patiant you might just fall in love. Its not for everyone, and thank god it is as it is :)

  • netdevil --> bastards. i loved them and now they let me down...

  • Anyone wanna try a new game, bored of games that are pointless?

    Try

freeallegiance org this is not an add i am just trying to get a community for a fun game!

  • Funny. They did great with Jumpgate one which is still going. This is the full blown remake, they will get it right. Just like alot of the haters said this game was closed when there was no info for over a year, when Netdevil was backed up in production.

  • This game is going to suck. You'll only be able to fly fighters, not big ships.

  • Looks amazing. True. But finally they will end up with amazing lag problems. I want to see hundreds of ships in a fight with smooth lag-free action like in this video.

  • too bad they won't release it.........ever.................looks like eve still holds the throne

  • what happened to the flux? :P

  • where can i download it? :S

  • Well, I'll wait for Black Prophecy :)

  • It's like Freelancer reborn. :) This looks amazing!

  • im just happy with all this technological improvement. imagine how elaborate games would get in the next 20 years

  • waiting for next freelancer, please release something!

  • Get the Jumpgate Evolution beta at my channel! GOODKyle1

  • this looks way better than eve, or STO.

Eve is just a big grindfest to play pvp.

  • @Fragem420 maybe its a grindfest for you cuz you suck in it? did you ever think about that? thats the risk you get in EVE, you can die if you are not prepared, and its sucks to die in eve. thats why its awesome. you get a real thrill out of it, and not just respawn somewhere and go back. but hey, eve is not for everyone, and thank god its like that.

  • LOL if gamereaper was suggesting eve as a replacment for freelancer

  • Comment removed

  • still in development ?

  • is there FP perspective?

Can I "sit" i the virtual cockpit?

  • Is this game payed?

    PLS TELL ME FAST

  • yes... if it wasn't it would be shit. Look at Black prophecy thats f2p

  • This looks cool, but the realism of eve "slow steady gameplay" etc etc is really intriguing. You can really customize (after awhile) your gameplay

  • So this or Black prophecy?

I guess ill try this one coz i been trying to get into BP closed beta for months with no success :P

  • @xSS4x BP is currently searching for a new publisher; without one they won't be able to announce the dates of betas

  • no its a copy off freelancer

  • @grubyub do you have any idea of how many space sims have came out before freelancer?

  • not enough man

  • FREELANCER OWNS HIGH FIVE

  • *slap* :D

  • Nice highfive!

  • @xSS4x Don't hold hope for this one. It was supposed to launch in 2009 June but here we are still waiting for closed beta.

Both games seem to have their issues and set-backs.

  • how is it bad that they are set back? yes its annoying but atleast they didnt release an unfinished bag of shit.

the only thing more development time will bring is a better rounded game with less problems, ill take that in exchange for a longer wait anyday.

  • @Polskmofo

    well said.

  • @Polskmofo I am just saying if they have rebuilt the game this many times from the ground up and STILL have not gotten to Closed Beta how many years into development its at least going to be another three years before we even hear hints of a release date. Also what is worrying me is ND's Code of Silence. The only time Devs are so quiet about any game is if they are ashamed to show it.

  • arcade = SUX = Xbox morons will love it

  • @rprince418: It might be one of the Descent or Freespace games.

  • who wants too see the best channel everrrrr!!!

  • NOT ME YOU SHIT FACE

  • Does anyone know the name of this old 90's computer game where you are in a ship, like this, but it is first person I think. You fly onto a planet, blow up ships and buildings, fly threw tunnels, and at the very end, you exit through some sort of jumpgate. I don't think it is this game though. You pick up power ups to help, and on one level, you have to beat this huge robot that is hard to beat. Can anyone fill me in?

  • did it have vector / 3d graphics? what format (snes?) starfox / starwing springs to mind.or possibly wing commander.

  • Wasn't SNES. It was Windows 95 I think. Definatly wasn't Starfox. All I remember is that it was a flying game. At the end of each mission, you would follow your compass to the Jumpgate, which would then launch your ship off the planet back into space. My dad and I could have sworn it was called Jumpgate, but I can't find that anywhere, only this game.

  • really want to help. give more info: clarify: graphic type: 3d graphics? any particular details spring to mind? the most well know (but probably too old, games i can think of are damocles and elite. failing that have you tried searching gamespot or something? was it more flight sim or action shooter? how old were you when you played it? give clues!

  • ...Jumpgate. (sorry, character count.)

  • ps there was a previous version of jumpgate YEARS ago. its not THAT youre thiking of is it?

  • It was between 1993 and 1997. I'm 17 now. What I can really remember is that it was more of an action shooter. You blew up (domed?) buildings to pick up powerups. You shot down enemy ships. The tunnels were the main thing. You fly through those and they might have doors that open and shut so it is hard to fly through. The one thing I REALLY remember was this HUGE robot that you had to fight on one lebel which was almost invincible. I could never beat it. And at the end of the level, you hit the..

  • Freelancer

  • @rprince418 was it Terminal Velocity?

  • @darkdeathwind nope, Fury3, Terminal Velocity's sequal. Just found it out, but thanks.

  • Frontier ;)

  • Thank you. It has been forever. We played the same levels over and over again but it was so fun. That darn robot was impossible though.

    Thank you

  • youre welcome

  • @rprince418: I think Im searching for the same game. ;) Please help us find it.

  • Decent/freespace/freelancer/starlancer check those out bro

  • maybe i buy it.

  • Problem with space MMO is the size of the game. It's a huge effort to make it as real as space itself, so the ppl find other ways like this. Freelancer will remain a legend.

  • I can't wait for this... cous i love games like this... It looks like AirRivals aka AceOnline... I recomend u guys to try it...

  • No.

  • i dont understand teh physics with no thrust vectoring that i can see -.-

  • Wait, no loading times when you go through the jump gates?

  • its just like eve and taikodom :O

  • Can't wait for a next generation, newtonian physics based space flight game. Escape Velocity needs a remake in the modern world. Honestly EVE is nice, but not realistic in very many ways. Keep your fingers crossed for a free ranging impossibly expansive space game! How cool would realistic travel between earth and mars be with the occasional privateer attack? 4-6 month journey under conventional thrust would be awesome!

  • I'm not into Fantasy themed games hardly, sans Diablo Series. I really want a space MMO, i tried Eve for 2 weeks, and didn't hate it. But man way way to deep. I just don't have that kind of time.

this one looks like another to try, a but more fast paced, but not to simple either. Hopefully a nice balance with economics, building, outfitting, mining..but not GRIND style.

  • I suggest you take a good look around. Black Prophecy is also a nice space MMO thats to come out in 2010. Its also twitch based like Jumpgate but looks more like EVE.

Alot of the game's area's are going to be instanced though, but the graphics and gameplay video's up untill now more than make up for it.

Oh, one minor... Theres no station docking in BP yet, thats propably still going to be implemented though.

  • meh pretty much a space battle in SW battlefront ;|

  • wait can you download this game for free if you can then...HOW!!!!

  • I am more looking foward to Infinity: The Quest for Earth, that seems to be more like Elite 2 and 3. If you don't know those games, well...shame on you.

I hope they will keep their promises, using the gravity of a big planet as a slingshot was pretty fun. And in some missions you had to enter the atmosphere of a planet to nuke a military base.

  • elite 2 and 3 was great and still the best, im looking forward to infinity although it's been in the making for such a long time that i doubt it'll ever come out.

  • lame was hooping for single play with big ships and tactics not a fps in spaceships with an rpg element

  • It's called X3: Reunion

  • Jumpgate is looking good.

  • i get a better feeling about black prophecy than this. it looks much darker and realistic. the ship designs in this remind me of 90's tv space operas and space games, ala babylon 5 and freespace 2. not that freespace 2 was bad, it was actually awesome, but the ships in that game had a quirky design to them, very different to what i'd expect of a practical spacecraft. JGE has that feel to me. black prophecy however hits the mark, although it takes a lot of inspiration from X3 i think.

  • The fact that it's similar to X3 but online makes me want it even more.

  • It sounds like a combination of EVE, Freelancer and WoW (in terms of crafting, AH, etc).

    Built in voice support...

I drool at the thought of this game.

  • WOW

This Game WIll Make EVE Admins Go Bankrupt

    LOL

  • @photon101203 WOW

Nobody will quite EVE for this game, its just way too different and has all the things we, EVE players dont really want anyway. AND it lacks all the things we do love in EVE.

its a complet different expiriance, so no, thank you. my money will go to CCP and will stay there.

    LOL on you.

personal note, XP sucks. skill training rules.

  • Looks alot like Starport GE, but 3D, and you have to buy it.

  • D: If this is anywear near as good as freelancer this will be the ultimate MMORPG/Action game and probably the first I'll be prepared to pay month fee for!

  • freelancer was bamf, this looks alot like it, but so much better, cant wait!

  • and its never gnna release-.- it says sign up for beta and yet theres ben no beta for 4 years

  • I wish this would come to the consoles, it looks amazing and I've always wanted a MMO game like this. I tried EVE but it was mind numbingly boring.

    Anyone remember Colony Wars?

  • if EVE was mind numbingly boring you were doing something wrong.

  • Point, click, kill.

    Fun.

No, I'm sure it was fun for a lot of people - just had to join a bigger corp to have that fun. I played with a small group of people - I was the ECM specialist, shutting down other ships. I was also the system scanner.

I remember one time I was in my T2 ECM ship (can't recall the name) and we had my nub friend "tackling" in a Ferox, and another fellow in a Raven with named Torp launchers (post torp change) and we took out a Megathron.

    Then another showed up...

  • I also didn't fully appreciate EVE because of the RNG system when it came to shooting things. The mission system was fairly bland and I've never been much of a crafter.

We had a Starbase (small) but meh, I spent most of my time floating around in a Navy Raven doing missions.

When I DID get to PvP in my T2 Caldari ECM ship it was always a great deal of fun. Scan out an enemy, cloak and warp towards them, bring in your friends, get em slowed and scrambled and shut 'em down with some ECM.

  • EVE online is shit click fest. Twitch combat is where its at

  • what other mmo space games are out their ?

  • There was Earth and Beyond. But it is long since died, the fans of that one are trying to make a fan server for it. But what can I say, I'm looking forward this this Spirtual seucesser to Freespace 2 and Earth & Beyond.

  • EVE online

  • sorry eve online is nothing like freespace

  • They're going to need their mittens there.

  • @jeffsupersaiyan cheack out infinity the quest for earth

  • @jeffsupersaiyan

Eve Online is a P2P mmorgp, and Black Prophecy is also looking .

  • Can't wait to see what 1st person view mode will look like. I wonder how much voice acting will be in it aswell for npc's. I'm just hoping this will be as good as Freespace.

  • I am dying to play an action space game - I don't care if it's this one, Black Prophecy or Infinity: The Quest for Earth - whoever releases first has my money... so tired of waiting...

  • just give me a fucking replacement for freelancer

  • freelancer has a special place in my heart :')

  • @Yene88 Dude why u read my mind

  • its still being made and is being tested to make it better, in the game weapons will be and look better

  • If you care more about the missiles looking 'cool' like some effect in wow where the actual missile doesn't correlate with exactly where it goes, this is not gonna be for you.. so don't worry.. go to the press 1... then 2... 3....4....1...5.... oh snap 7 type of play...This game looks to be about skill and maneuvering

  • Not impressed with the missile detail.

  • monthly fees?

  • ofcourse

  • its amazing that there are still new and fresh ideas for video games after all these years

  • You call this new?

  • listen up kids this is freelancer game play with mmo econimics skill wins not bollocks please all mmmorpg fans go away we dont want you you wreaked wow EQ2 VG AOC EQ even UFO bye have fun please dont come join us.

  • I find it funny when people attempt to claim that eve has an enjoyable and well made combat system.

  • it does if you get involved in it, its not for everyone but neither are alot of games.

  • it is more, despite the claims of hte developers, eve combat is closer to WoW than games like Allegiance and XvT

  • wow and eve are quite different in combat mechanics, i dont even know how you are comparing the two.

  • To a new player, the combat system i EXACTLY like WoW. The first missions you go on in EVE involve clicking on your target, clicking on your weapons until the target dies, then doing it all over again.

You can probably see why so many people make that comparison when they have obviously played the trial for a couple of hours and jumped to the conclusion that it gets no deeper than that, when it actually gets a whole lot more complex later on.

  • Good call, its been quite awhile since the starting of eve for me I started in 07, but you are right the beginning of eve is similar to the beginning of wow.

In this sense pretty much every mmo is the exact same *from the start that is*

  • @TheValiance Your lack of understanding of Eve's combat system does not make it a bad one. Eve is the thinking persons game. The enjoyment comes from building a ship perfectly suited to your purpose, and seeing how well it performs in that situation, as well as studying, perfecting and implementing the right strategies to win PVP battles. It is enjoyable to those who are able to appreciate it's complexity. Unfortunately for a lot of people, they are not capable of doing so. Y didn't you like it?

  • @inviktus1983

EVE's combat never seemed intense to me; it seemed a lot more like WoW's point and click type combat because of how before a fight you spend your time making sure your loadout is perfect, and then whoever's loadout is better wins. Games should be made so the underdog can still win, like it is in allegiance or freespace (kinda), rather than how it is in EVE which means if an enemy has a ship about 5% better than yours, unless he's retarded, you're toast.

  • @TheValiance I think you are mistaken, Eve's combat does not come down to how good one fit is over another, it comes down to the skill of the player too. The underdog can very much win in Eve.

I do not like your assertion about how games ought to be made, or the comparison with WoWs combat, you are comparing apples and oranges.

  • @inviktus1983

no offense to Eve - its as u put it, its a thinkin persons game best suited for people hoo appreciate the complexity -

which requires a certain kind of patience i dont hav and i assume the same goes for many in the gaming community - so dont be surprised to find people that may have played though the lengthy but shallow tutorial (despite its length it doesnt tell u everything) and assume to no wat eve is about gameplay wise and make retarded comparisons

  • I just quit my Eve account yesterday. Eve is a great game, but takes months and months to accomplish anything. I hope this game will have more action.

  • is this better then evo online? It looks like it.

  • it will be the WoW man.

    join the party :P

  • is it free or do i have to pay every mouth cause if it is i wont buy it

  • monthly duh.. it's sooo good it's worth it

  • what pay for game ?! lol no way unless its awesome but i dont think that this game will be so awesome to buy so i will download it...

  • @xXSwatXx007

yeah very smart. and on which server will u play?

  • @TheRaveJunkie

on no one i dont like this game(personal opinion) i prefer call of duty modern warfare 2 if i ever turn my pc on cause lately i got bored i dont know..... so yeah i wouldnt buy this

  • @xXSwatXx007

    And who cares about you?

  • none why did i say something ?...ohhh yeah about that well i dont fucking care if none is caring about me ... i just told my fucking opinion

  • Can any1 tell me how good this game is(comparing to Freelancer)?

  • no one its not out yet nob head...at the way it looks much better

  • I am a massive free lancer player mods and so on this combat system is FL :).Remeber when we held zones and fought took taxes and escourted to make people rich well lets see the plat seller try to get past pistols zone im am ELITE.

  • Seem its not the "focus target" fight, so it will be HUGE problems to play without good ping. Lasers crap, so we will take the smart rockets?

  • stop comparing eve to this, compare taikodom instead. EVE is not on the same category, newbes. i dont think TKD has a chance anyways

  • Yes, it looks a little like 'Starlancer', but I loved 'Starlancer', and always wanted something as immersive as that game was. (I came from the Wing Commander legacy). Let's hope that J:E is as good as that was.

  • I understand the purpose of genres for devs but as a player I don't see any legitimate distinction between games. They all have graphics, audio, video, and networking (in MP) so, as far as I'm concerned, they are all capable of doing the same thing. This is a spaceship mmo- of course it's comparable to Eve Online. What I like most about Eve is how quick and easy it is to download, install, register and log on. It all happens on one website which is very safe and reliable.

  • "I don't see any legitimate distinction between games"

You, sir, need to play more games OR stop writing comments regarding them. That's.. like... whoa... possibly the stupidest thing I've heard.

    /sarcasm on

I understand the purpose of medias for publishers, but I don't see any legitimate distinction between entertainment. Whether PC games, board games, books or TV shows, they are all capable of doing the same thing. Entertaining.

    /sarcasm off

  • This seems to be a complete, a bit more advanced version of Tachyon: The Fringe, which is a 2000 game.

  • That certainly wouldnt be a bad thing.

  • my pc has no chance

  • Stop talking about eve in relation to this game you slavering retards! The new eve?!?! They are completely different games.

  • i agree eve looks like a much more complicated game with a massive amount of choices this one looks like the standard flighing and shooting game just with added feature of a million people

  • 50% EVE 50% Starlancer, 100% ripoff

I didn't play EVE, just did the 10 trial period, and sure this game looks a lot more animated, but it also looks like an arcade shoot em up... that's not really MMO material in my book. Very limited gameplay and depth.

  • If that's your definition of ripoff, name ten games that have come out the last ten years that are not ripoffs.

  • true it is more animated and it seems that ppl with the biggest stats gonna win all the time (like EVE)! the ability of the player counts more (what can i see from the videos)

  • this game is FAR older than EVE do a search for Jumpgate and you will see

  • This is jumpgate: Evolution, the next installment of the series

  • consider it, eve is something else than this, stop comparing these games, they aim for 2 different player games, i personally play eve but i dont go around comparing them :|

  • I want to hear more about crafting, possibly mining, transporting, non-combat stuff. What will be there for guilds/corps?

It is all going to fall to Design to make or break this game. It looks great, very pretty. but I want to know more about design in detail. If I get into beta, it will answer many of my questions.

  • I've not seen any cockpit views in this game..are they not included?
