I fortunately always go right back (within five min often with in one minute) because unfortuantely l look like death and i'm there so much. i hope you start getting called back more quickly :( so sorry that stinkkksksss
prince charming! PAHA! YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
stole grandma's chair lolol yupp i always get that in the mall!
This is so true! The worst was the night before Halloween when everyone was in zombie makeup, kids with swine flu, ended up waiting for 8 hours, had a Dr. who told me he couldn't help my chest and arm pain because he only dealt with gun shot wounds, had a nurse who left in the middle of an exam to go on break, and they left my IV bag for an hour because they messed up on someone's labs. It was a good night.
Not sure if my last reply to you went through or not (so here we go again! lol) I'm so glad you liked the video, thanks so much! You're right. It is so discouraging to know that people in other states and countries are going through the same thing. I guess the best we can do is talk about it and support one another...hopefully somehow, some way things begin to change.
Hope you're having a wonderful week! Keep in touch !
I love the way you told about how it goes in the E.R....very funny, but extremely frustrating!!! I have to say the last time I walked into an E.R. on my own and told them I had chest pains; I was escorted immediately to a room where I was told to lie down and they immediately hooked me up to telemetry, started an I.V. and assessed my condition and wanted to admit me but after a long discussion with the dr, I convinced him to let me go home.
So glad to hear your last hospital experience wasn't too bad! And also glad you didn't get admitted - ER visits are one thing but being admitted...that's a whole 'nother video ! lol
Nice video, but Id like to mention if your young and have issues w/ your heart they automatically treat you like a coke or meth head. When I got rushed to the E.R. with palpitations over 170(my HR is usually in low 60's) they were mean to me,rolling there eyes, and took a blood test right away, when they found N0 drugs in my system, then they were like OH this guys seriously got something wrong. Then they were super nice(GUILTY NICE)
My personal favorite from the ER, "Why are you here?" No one, in history, has EVER died from palpitations. My husbands heart rate goes up to almost three hundred all the time, and he doesn't even notice." I've actually written all my conditions down (and medical history), since I have POTS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Lymphocytic Colitis, and Fibromyalgia. Followed by the, "You're too young to have that stuff" comments... I wish they'd explain that to my body! Another great video, Kyli!
"Why am I here?!" "Because I'm bored!!" That drives ME crazy too! What do they think? We have nothing better to do than to come to the hospital for no real reason?
you have captured the funny in the moment ... its so true. iv always been taken serious because of my spinal injury , good thing ,but thank you for shaing !
I laughed SO HARD when you tried to explain the POTS to the nurse!! LOL! I just could not stop laughing. Great imitation, and you totally brightened my day! Thanks Kyli!
So glad it made you laugh! I'm not sure how I stayed so serious...it really is funny (though its never funny while you're going through it right? LOL)
LOL My cat heard you cough and then ran right to the computer and wouldn't leave until the video was over lol. Now he's laying on my book bag looking all whigged out hehe. I'm still waiting 8 months and counting since my last hospital visit just for the tilt table test still! So yeah.. I hate emergency units lol. And the germs freak me out too.. I just think, "Greeaatt what am I gonna catch this time." lol
Oh my GOSH. When you got to the part where you had to explain POTS to the nurses I was rolling! That was so hilarious!!!! Oh my goodness, I love your imitations, they crack me up. On a more serius note, everything you talked about has been exactly my experience. I absolutely HATE the ER, and to be honest there have been times where I thought I was going to die in my sleep but I just avoided the ER anyway. A tip I got from a nurse is, try to go around 3-4AM and there will be way less people.
So glad it made you laugh!! Youre right, 3-4 AM is a good time,...the problem is it's even more exhausting! lol. I've done the same thing...avoided the ER at all costs. Sometimes just being there makes me feel sicker!
Luckily I am litteraly thirty minutes away from one of the UK's top heart hospitals so generally most of the staff are pretty clued up.
Also people with 'heart conditions' get automatically bumped to the front of the que.
My worst experiences have come from having to stay in hospital. Since I am generally put in a cardio ward and there are not many young people who tend to be about I tend to spend the majority of my time there hearing war stories :P
haha loved this kyli! i definitely hate ERs. and i do the exact same thing where i try to look for a chair as far away from the people that look the sickest. haha. i'm a bit of a germaphobe. lol.
You have just described the reason that I wont go to an ER unless I truly believe I am dying. Besides I always pick up some bug there so I end up in worse shape than before I went.
This was a great video! I don't like going to hospitals at all..at least with my experiences, the people there just don't seem to care or be that helpful at all.
I recently went to pick up papers & the receptionist (who didn't even look up at us while she was talking) told my mom and I to go a totally different way than we were supposed to go & we ended up going in circles trying to find the right area. I ended up having to go back another day for them because I was so dizzy and exhausted.
Oh that's awful! What an exhausting day. You're right though - there are good people out there. I wish more of them worked in hospitals! LOL. I'm going to share a story soon though...about an amazing hospital employee I met who proved that they're not all so bad. :)
I know this is how i always look!
or sometimes they're like oh good she's stsaying now I dont have to worry about sending ehr home like that!

Ok stories!
lol I always get "dysautonomia? whats that? i'm going to have to look that up!"
and I usually get the med student, "wow you're the most interesting case I've had, I'm really glad you were on my schedule"
resident: ok so we'll just do the usual? squeeze my fingers. oh, wow. nothing? mkay...push down on my hands w ur feet.
left side too!
then attending comes in all worried: sure you wanna go home? are you sure you're ok? you still look bad! TBcontinued:::
